  1. It was insane. At night back row, words can't even. Nothing against Beast night ride but it can't hold a candle to that experience.
  2. I will say the Beast was better than expected but not worth too lon a wait. Deff find out when fireworks are happening don't get caught out
  3. For me, a little after 9 was getting dark but not pitch. You deff wanna go as near 10 as possible. I don't k ow how often they do fireworks or when, but we got to Beast at 945/950 and fireworks began as we got on line. Took 45 mins maybe a bit longer to get the OK to run the ride. Which we got denied a front row ride, we were a tad bummed that after holding us so long they let like 2 trains run before closing, but yeah later is better.
  4. Ha yeah on voyage ert i heard "who needs steel vengeance!?" U still hope to go to CP this year, sad I missed coastermania but HW has been a great time and Voyage is indeed no joke. Esp with the trim breaks turned off. Having rode a normal ride on it, big diffedence. Can't wait for ert again. Im spoiled ha. also have decided I give the edge to Legend. Better air on raven but I like the intensity.
  5. Edit: I see my error. Voyage is a back ride coaster. Finally nerved up and did back row. That airtime was savage! Also wasn't any rougher than in front m, almost seemed better (maybe my body has been rattled to malfunction) what a crazy ride. Deff top 10. Still cant believe how much butt it hauls. Im going with Legend over Raven the latter has better sir but legend is so intense. Also very appreciative of the free sunscreen and soda. Both saved my life today and will tomm
  6. Holiday World has been pretty cool. The water park ert was great as I got to marathon wildebeest (water slide airtime :o ) and mammoth, which were both awesome. All the coasters were good. I expected a bit more intensity in the airtime on Voyage but wow what a ride. I knew it was fast but good Lord, I swear it felt fastest at the end. The way that second half picks up speed and doesn't let up. Just wow. Raven was epic in back, Legend seems to get the least fanfare but I really liked it. Was at times smoother than raven and also rougher. I may possibly like it a tad over raven, well see with more rides. Also all wing coasters should be launched I have to say!
  7. Well vortex I found not as bad and I prepare for an arrow. I didn't expect FoF to be so bad so I was quite caught off guard. Vortex at least had a neat layout, granted there were those super awkward transitions. Glad I rode it for the history. Same with Racer but I wouldn't mind that getting the RMC. Wasn't the toughest but pretty borderline (and I got a goigh rough tolerance) and it was a bit lackluster. I recall liking rebel yell more. Oh and the joy of low expectations. Beast was quite fun, better than I expected. Not top 10 wooden but fun. Mystic Timbers though good Lord. What a ride
  8. Agreed the one at Dominion is perfectly fine. I don't recall it being rough at all, and was indeed a fun ride. This one, no joke I got an Advil and laid at the water park for an hour to recover! I tried to press on but my head was just throbbing
  9. Oh wow t3 was actually ok. Which is a step up I think I have brain trauma. Was at least rideable but once was enough
  10. Lightning Run was awesome. Storm Chaser...unholy. idk yet where it ranks, if it outdid Wicked Cyclone, seemed to have a tad less air, but for now all I can say is wow. I managed to leave a little restraint room for one ride and wow, such sustained ejector especially on the Hill in the middle. Thunder run was surprisingly OK. I hear T3 has new trains..im gunna break my rule of never Vekoma SLC. Hope I don't regret it
  11. Never been before so it was my first experience. The operations were brilliant. Yes except flight of fear, which was not dreadfully slow but wow... how a ride with no OTSR can give me such a headache. Was worse than vortex! My head hurt for like 2 hours
  12. Well first visit to KI was a success. Quiet day. Basically barely any wait on everything. Did everything multiple times if wanted. Was surprised by Beast, better than I expected and did get the infamous night ride. Sucks they had to close it for fireworks so what was a walk on ended up a 45 min wait, but yeah unexpectedly good ride. Mystic Timbers was sick. Possibly my favorite at the park. Banshee was a close second, and Diamondback was great though less air than I expected. The operations were superb. Why the hell can't every park always run 3 trains even if Quiet? The lines were so small and the actual loading operations were quick. Many places could take a lesson from here.
  13. A little short but that actually looks like one of the best RMCs. Really like that layout
  14. Hmmm, a little concerning there's no open date yet. Whether its WCB or my own trip I deff am getting to CA this year and an opening date for railblazer would be a relief, as its something Im really looking forward to.
  15. Nice! Yeah, a few here and on the nets have confirmed they really feel no difference between it of years ago and now. Those breaks are just a trip I guess, it certainly looks that way, but never having ridden it I can only judge for when I do and not really worry about the past. I am still keeping expectations muted, which is hard because Im a history nerd. Regardless, excited for the park! Hope I will be able to get multiple rides for the biggies. Also, any coasters that (if crowded and some need to be ditched) I can avoid? Not a cred whore, so I can live it. Like Vortex or Bat?
  16. Absolutely. They truly do have the greatest coaster collection, its like almost unfair they are taking what is possibly their worst (and only real bad one (ya gotta know what to expect with ones like runaway train)) and now is possibly their best. I also get the frustration but Im also a bit confused...we are the snobs, erm experts, while I get the excitement (I am crazy jealous of people who have already gotten multiple rides) ya gotta be expecting that early season there will be bugs/kinks to work out, and the park wont be in full swing. Either go later in the year or accept this stuff may happen. And yes, its not like you will have a bum day without it
  17. Yeah, I've noticed a legit increase in my enjoyment of rides lately since I've stopped overhyping them. Ya know, watching a POV once or twice, not 9001 times, and not over thinking and talking them. Seriously it's been a lot more fun and rarely am I let down anymore, often a ride was good but the expectations were in the stratosphere so what can you expect? Happened with Boulder Dash, Bizarro/Superman whatever it is now @ SFNE, Ravine Flyer II... But SV is really hard to keep out of my mind. Ive had good luck at CP late season. If I sneak a trip in this year may be real late, like October. We shall see. Hopefully any kinks will be worked out as well!
  18. Also am excited to see Storm Chaser in at 9 and Lightning Run at 23. Makes my KK trip feel a little more worth it now
  19. May have heard that once or twice ha Yeah Im trying to dampen expectations, so it can only exceed them really At the very least Im excited about the historical aspect of it, I mean it's a legend, been seeing and hearing about Beast since well long as I can remember!
  20. Less than a month till my first visit Im expecting crowds wont be very bad on a late May Thursday. Hopefully enough to not need fast pass and still get plenty of everything. I've heard mostly rave things about Diamonback. I will admit I dont love Nitro quite as much as I used to, due to simply newer rides being better I guess, but I am excited about it. As well as Banshee and MT! I am gunna not be an enthusiast for once and temper my judgements (usually goes well) about Beast. I really am not expecting much tbh so hopefully will be pleasantly surprised.
  21. Kings Island in one month. Followed the next day by Kentucky Kingdom and Holiday World. All new parks
  22. They should re add the original roll in Maverick
  23. So many have been knocked off over time, but then so many more pop up (no thanks to you RMC!) In no real order: The Voyage (will do this year) X2 (hopefully will do) Fury 325 Lightning Rod Shambhala Formula Rossa Steel Vengeance All other RMC's (way to keep em from clogging the top 10) Expedition GeForce Wood Coaster at Knight Valley
  24. While I prefer Montu more (and Cheetah Hunt), my daughter had ShieKra as her favorite coaster at BGT, and I think my son preferred it to Montu as well! It's definitely a really good, and fun coaster, so there shouldn't be too much controversy over preferring it to Montu, especially if you aren't a big fan of the intensity of B&M Inverts. My kids and I really noticed this, and commented frequently on our recent vacation to Florida, which involved hitting Carowinds on the way down, and Kings Dominion on the way back up. All the Florida parks we went to (BGT, SWO, both Fun Spots) were great in their use of cubbies or bins to make buying a FFBFWM&G not mandatory! Whereas, Cedar Fair is all about the mighty dollar, and clearly is not putting small shelves or bins on any of their new coasters, in spite of plenty of room to do so. While I love CF for many things, this continues to be something (in addition to the FL system) where I feel they have let financial exploitation get the better of them... But hey, if I was running a park in RTC, I'd probably do the same! Capitalism, baby!!! I love an intense B&M invert, Batman the Ride still the best! If anything I had the opposite issue, I expected Montu to be more forceful than it was. I think it simply is an older, hyped up coaster so having ridden it for the first time now, after having been on the likes of I305 and Skyrush, El Toro and Wicked Cyclone, it cant help its simply not the same level. Not that any of that is a knock, fun ride! Kumba though, holy crap. Yeah I had a few year gap when I didn't really go to parks, so when I started again with SFNE, CP and Universal I was like whoa what is this lock up stuff?? Since it seems to be the norm now, was very pleasantly surprised to see it not be an issue of Busch. Its minor but actually was a big thing for me, it just added enjoyment not having to hide stuff in pockets, stash it in a bush, travel light and generally have to think about it. It was nice and gave me that old school feel. Oh I totally get it. This is a business, I get that. They are not places for us enthusiasts, they are businesses and run as such. I have never bashed that or held any other notion. BUT also doesn't mean we have to like it!
  25. Awesome. I know some have given them flak but I found it a fun ride. 450 feet? Even better. Next time I'm in Orlando will deff do this
