  1. ^That's just not possible at the moment, Bill. It's like when someone posts a picture of an ordinary tree on Facebook and the comments inevitably turn into arguments about either COVID or BLM.
  2. I hope your trip goes well. Maybe it will turn out better than expected. I've read a couple trip reports from Universal. As far as that park goes, it doesn't seem worth it to me. I'm assuming other experiences with similar restrictions will be the same, if not worse. I'm really curious how CP's restrictions will stack up against a park that obviously has a lot more resources to make it flow more smoothly, but is still having difficulties. I'll probably abstain from visiting any parks outside of a few hours at SFSTL, until these drastic measures are reduced. I'm not discouraging the safety precautions like masks, electronic queuing, etc. But, I'm not going to waste my time traveling somewhere for an experience that limits comfort and fun. The strategy defies my purpose of being able to completely cut loose in a stress free environment. I'm undoubtedly a "glass half empty" person. There's no changing that. Hopefully by the time Halloween events start some of these restrictions will be lifted. It would be depressing to miss out on our KI Haunt Drunkfest two years in a row.
  3. You just initiated three more pages of debate between people who will argue about which day the park will open, between the 19th and 26th.
  4. I would say it depends on the discrepancy between what's been cleared to reopen and what hasn't. Basically they should have taken the safe route and keep every type of business closed for the next four years, like Illinois. We're all about no conflicts here...
  5. Probably the best route to go. They'll be little nuclear missiles wiping out civilization, again.
  6. Sounds like a winner! That didn't take long. https://www.cedarpoint.com/park-update I wonder if this will pave the way for other parks to stand up to their respective states.
  7. Got em!!!! https://www.cedarpoint.com/park-update
  8. Props to Cedar Fair for taking the gloves off.
  9. I'm not even concerned with this year's activity, anymore. I'll wait and see how the guest satisfaction is before I make the decision to attend any parks. When I do, I'll probably stay local, or visit another city within close reach, with the park visits being the smallest portion of entertainment during the trips. I don't mind wearing masks and I can comply with the other restrictions. It's whatever. But, if there are reports that the restrictions at the park are turning into chaotic buzz killed visits I'll pass all together. I'm going to assume that trips won't be worth it. If it turns out everything seems tolerable and still very fun, it will be a nice surprise. Until then, I'm not getting my hopes up. Like everything else this year, I'm planning for the worst and any unexpected exceptions will be nice surprises. 2020 blows and I'm considering it a wash. Rant over. Not being a party pooper at all. I'm sure there are rules in place at the parks to shut everything down if there is a drone in the area. Think of all the people who would have a field day if Orion's construction was delayed because someone wanted a better view of it. We don't know if the video was allowed or not. I don't think it's anyone's place to say.
  10. Four major hurdles for me. COVID, rotator cuff tear, newborn, and now, riots. This year has been an absolute whirlwind dumpster fire. Playing hockey or a beer/coaster day would be a great release, but no... I'd give my left one for a few rides on the eagle with Emily. SF and CF visits will probably be a mixture of chaos and watered down experiences, but at least it would be better than nothing. You don't realize what you have, until it's gone. The only positive has been the market opportunities, if you're not at retirement age.
  11. Just like that... the media no longer cares about COVID, because it's not the number one seller.
  12. Damn. I did a lot of research on my own and took some advice from friends as far as SIX goes. We went with a lot of FUN and some SEAS, among other investments. I'm glad we didn't go with SIX. I looked beyond the 52 week high.
  13. Both Copperhead and Mystic Timbers were pretty forward about the heavy (for CP) themeing involved. I wouldn't expect much. The best thing to hope for on the entrance and queue are comments like, "It looks surprisingly better than I thought, despite all of the Concrete." or, "There are a few nice touches." Cross your fingers for other nerdy positive comments that we make when we do trip reports. Personally, I really don't care much. "It looks fine" is good enough for me. There's never any themeing in the fastlane lines, anyway... Hopefully KI can polish all of the rust off for the opening in 2021, unless there's a bad stomach flu going around. I'm still holding out for that POV. Maybe Christmas time.
  14. Those two Karens can STFU. The first Karen said she's paid for a membership she hasn't been able to use for four months... The park would have been closed for the majority of that time. "I'm not really... sure... if we will get memberships again next year." LOL ooookay. The second Karen is complaining about the masks, but she's not going to the park regardless... because of safety... but she doesn't want to wear a mask... uh. WTF is the news going to talk about when (if) all of this is over? I guess there'll always be the nightly shootings.
  15. Economy: The Ride Although, your idea is bullshit, because Cedar Fair's strategy is to bring consumers back to the park. It's not a family oriented ride, either.
  16. Don't be disappointed if what you see is what you get.
  17. (^ I hope you picked up on the sarcastic Easter egg in my post. I don't believe in anniversary addition rumors.) MF had a slight rattle in the last seat, but it wasn't bad. The lower seats seem smoother. The second to the last seat is our favorite. It's very smooth and it doesn't have the line that the very last seat has.
  18. No mention of virtual queuing.
  19. I wouldn't rule out a new coaster, since next year Cedar Point will be celebrating its 150th operating year.
  20. The blue track really pops with the unpainted steel structure. They really nailed the simplicity of this.
