  1. Awesome TR, Zach! I'm disappointed to hear the Orion reviews. I haven't heard anyone say that they were blown away by it. I really hope we don’t do this every time a theme park employee somewhere in America tests positive for covid because it’s going to be a daily occurrence. We're talking about the same news media that calls rides stopped on lift hills "breaking news." It's almost like they're trying to alarm people or something.
  2. On one hand it's great, because most of the trains I saw being "sanitized" was pretty much just for show. On the other hand, the ironic thing is that most states are beefing up their restrictions again.
  3. I noticed that during my one and only trip to a park (SFStl) a couple weeks ago. I honestly just think it's just the atmosphere with the safety measures and the terrible capacity. My wife described it perfectly. We go to parks to forget about the world's problems. However, with all of the sanitizing, the masks, the lowered capacity, and the general tone from staff and guests, it really shoves the COVID issue right in your face. We're finally getting a chance to escape the kid for three nights next week. We'd booked a stay at a resort in Sedona, AZ, which got canned when they brought back more restrictions. After a while, my wife didn't want to fly anymore, because of the risk to our family. So, we compromised and we're driving four hours to stay at the nicest resort we could find in... Branson... We're going to spend a day at SDC. I have a feeling we'll end up doing what we did at SFStl and just leaving after a couple depressing hours. Joy.
  4. Has anyone been to the park lately? I'm wondering how the lines and beer situation are. Every other car, etc. I guess quick queue still isn't offered, since I didn't see it on the website.
  5. I would think that FL+ would have to get pretty pricey with limited capacity.
  6. Can anyone comment on how the lines and capacity have been lately? Is the park still running one train opps?
  7. I'd leave it up to the professionals.
  8. We went Monday and there were about 6 cars in the parking lot at noon, so profitability might have something to do with it...
  9. Don't threaten the Eagle. If they ever chop it up and put Ibox rails on it I'll vomit.
  10. We need to have more arguments about masks. I can't find enough on Facebook.
  11. From the sounds of it, Orion is going to be another coaster with forever mixed reviews. The fun vs. boring arguments are going to be worse than Banshee and Beast. The majority of the reviews I've read pinpoint it as riding exactly how it looks. Maybe things will get better once you add a couple thousand pounds of people. I wonder if the silent lift and quiet ride have anything to do with the neighbors. Didn't they fill sections of Orion with sand after the complaints?
  12. They accidentally left a few trees within rifle range of the track. I guess Hershey isn't trying to be cool like all of the other corporate parks.
  13. My guess would be Banshee. With the right crew, they can run three trains without stacking. I know that's not typical, but in the first year as soon as you pulled down your restraint a ride op would already be buckling your seatbelt. I'd never seen trains loaded that quickly until Fury's opening year.
  14. I understand the desire to rant. I understand your concerns. I don't completely disagree with you. But, at some point you're just going to have to let it go and realise that you're not going to change anything. That's life. Aside from that... Like I said earlier, I was hoping that there were bigger crowds than shown in the videos, which turned out to be true. The silver lining is that it's at least good that there are more people in the park, despite being so tightly packed in. Outside of the things you're not going to be able to change, I'm happy people interested in Indiana Beach. Maybe their social media just sucks, making the park look dead. Everything they have posted so far makes it look so hokey and ugly, which is weird because last year they did a great job of making the park look desirable. Maybe there's someone new running the show.
  15. We've gone the last couple of seasons on the first week of 10-10 operations in early June. Any later than that is mayfly season, which is bad. For the rest of the season, you still catch some gnats on rides like Millennium Force, but it's tolerable.
  16. RMC didn't do so hot with the last launched coaster opening. Granted, it was the first wooden launch coaster, but still...
  17. $1 to skip to the front of the line? OK. $20 is 20 rides a day... That's insanely low. I'd even gladly shell out $5/ride, but $1 seems crazy. Every season pass hold would bring a crisp $10 bill on each visit.
  18. I saw clips of the opening ceremonies and the park in general on the Indiana Beach Facebook page. The crowds look very sparse. Today their social media was hitting hard on their bar area with a band. They quickly panned away from the empty tables. I hope the video clips aren't an accurate perception of attendance. If so, I kind of feel sorry for them with the work and effort put into bringing the park back from the dead.
  19. I like your plan. I also think that sometimes it's worth it to spend a little more money for convenience. I'm glad you guys are getting to take your trip this year.
