  1. Fanboys be all like, "B&M lift hills are quiet because they're boring. RMC lift hills are loud because they're soooo intense!!"
  2. So just to reiterate, wait times aren't all that bad?
  3. That lighting package kicks some serious ass!
  4. It's a statue, so there's already a petition to have it removed.
  5. So how did the electronic queueing work out? How long did it take to get the notification to head to the queue when you reserved a spot? Once you were in the queue, how long did it take to board? If we end up getting desperate enough to go, I'd like to get a few rides on Screamin' Eagle, maybe a ride on the Boss and/or Batman, and a trip down the flume. But, we don't want to spend the whole time standing in a queue. That's why I'm curious about the reservation system. I can't remember if they let you take your beer in the queues. At CF parks they do not.
  6. Just like us complaining about other people complaining, eh? Like when people complained about the complainers complaining about Orion. We should all let the complainers complain instead of constantly complaining about their complaints.
  7. ^Thanks. I just read that in the BGT thread and was coming back to edit my comment. lol This definitely helps explain the drop on the value of our market shares.
  8. Maybe that explains why my SEAS market shares are eating shit. I keep reading crap on Facebook that Sea World Entertainment hasn't paid for their new coasters yet, so they aren't allowed to open them???
  9. You say "or sit and home" like the only two options right now are going to SF or Nextflix... Like somehow SF is doing me a personal favor by letting me queue up for hours instead of the alternative of developing bedsores. They're open. I get that. But, at some point in time it really is OK to admit that the operations are a little ridiculous compared to what some of the other parks in the business are doing, whether it's at the discretion of SF or the STL County. It doesn't make you a radical to vent or complain a little. Emily and I have a day and night to ourselves next week. It looks like it might very well be the only opportunity to ride a roller coaster this year, period. I was skeptical before this information came out, but now it doesn't really sound worth it. When I weigh my options of going on a hike, taking a swim in my dad's pool, or going to a nice patio/restaurant and having a few cocktails, I can't help but to think that all of the aforementioned options sound more enjoyable for us. We'll just see how desperate I feel next week. I could take my chances on spending $100 on a failed SF attempt, or on more failing Sea World market shares. Neither sound promising at this point.
  10. Yeah. Uh. Sorry about your luck, but we all had other plans this year....
  11. Has KK specified what their COVID safety standards are going to be?
  12. My shoulder is trashed. Rotator cuff surgery at the end of July. Light duty at work and no real exercise for 6 months. Outside of otherwise being in good health, maintaining a good career, and no long term personal disasters, 2020 has been complete fucking trash for a multitude of reasons.
  13. This year is trash. My shoulder is trash. Surgery in July. I'll be out for 6 months. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it out to the park once. I'm not optimistic that the experience won't be as bad as I'm expecting. I guess if there's a year to miss out this will the one for the best.
  14. It might be better to start a new thread rather than asking questions about water park season passes in a thread created after a ten year old boy sheared his head off. I mean... I'm just sayin.
  15. Gasoline. Probably somewhere around $40 worth of 93 octane, since my car requires at least 91. I usually don't even look at the price, because I'm going to pay what they charge me. Aside from saving maybe a couple bucks and spending more time to drive extra to get the gas, it doesn't really do much to keep track. It's necessary to buy gas if you own a car, either way. I remember when it went over $1.30 per gallon around the time I started driving and people were absolutely losing their shit.
  16. I don't understand why people don't use their signals. It helps with the predictability of traffic and it's a courtesy to other drivers. Are people that lazy that they can't flick their wrists a few inches? (yes) It's like wearing a seatbelt, in that it becomes an unconscious movement, just like using the gas pedal or stearing wheel. I even use my signal when I pull into my driveway (as I should). I catch myself using it on sharp turns, sometimes... It's a pet peeve of mine.
  17. I'm not surprised the Safari is still kick ass. It seems like a real shining star in the park. Until the end when they remind you of how awesome humans are by deforestation and killing off animal species one at a time... Those bastards talked me into buying the $5 donation pin. It's the only way you can buy back some of your good conscious, so hopefully they still sell that guilt over your car radio or something.
  18. People love to lose their shit over nothing. Whether I think it's right or wrong, I wear a mask if I'm required to do it. I follow the rules. People have a problem with being told what to do with anything, anymore. My opinion about the COVID issue is unpopular with a lot of people, but if I don't want to comply with a park's rules of policies, I just don't go. I don't bitch about it or voice my opinion. I'm sure it would be the same way if a park made everyone wear sunglasses. Even the people who were wearing them to begin with would be outraged that they were required to wear them. Honestly, the reservations, electronic queuing, and limited capacity seem to be way more inconvenient than simply wearing masks. Those are the main buzz kills for me. If all I had to do was wear a mask and have everything else back to normal, I'd be booking trips.
  19. That's a bold move. I hope it works out well for you.
  20. ***slightly edited*** 1) I won't make any attempt to travel to any corporate parks with heavy restrictions, unless TR's are overwhelmingly positive. If there's an exception, it will be KI. I'll probably pay a visit or two to our local park (SFSTL). Please don't confuse this with me being completely against the restrictions. 2) I go to parks to de-stress. The safety precautions are countermeasures to that process. 3) I'll go back when everything clears up. At the very least, I'm taking a "wait and see" stance. I'm not an optimist (in life), by any means.
  21. I'm not against the masks for the short term. But, it's a good thing I'm not vulnerable to COVID 19, because then I'd have to make the responsible decision not to go to a crowded theme park. I'm glad I didn't see any mention of electronic queuing.
  22. Staggered seating and stacking trains for extra cleaning. That video is a great reminder of why it's not worth it to park hop this year, unless this works out better than I expect. At least they're not doing electronic queuing. I know a lot of people are all for it, but it just doesn't sit right with me. I didn't expect anything less, but I'm so tired of this crap.
