Aside from all that, it was pretty reliable... -

I guess we'll never know how Orion will ride with a full train. -
This. Out of the last 8-10 times we've flown: Delta Airlines: Our flight out was delayed by a couple hours, so our connection in Salt Lake City was gone by the time we got there. We had the option to stay in a hotel for the night and catch a 4am flight, or fly 10 hours through the night on a "red eye," bouncing us from airport to airport, until we would arrive at our destination. We opted to stay overnight, and our luggage was nowhere to be found. They gave us a paper thin tee shirt to change into in the morning, and a toothbrush... American Airlines: Our connection in DC was canceled at 9pm, because the aircraft had issues. We had to stay overnight, but at least we had our luggage. We got there at 11pm (just in time to grab a double gin and tonic at the bar to help put me out) and had to be up at 3am to catch another flight. We got notification via email on the shuttle to the airport the plane was still down, so we were going to have to take another flight at 9am, catch another layover on the West Coast with a 30 minute cushion, and arrive at our destination at 7pm. We rented a car and drove the remaining 5-6 hours. United Airlines: Our flight was at 6am. We had to wait in the terminal for another flight home until 6pm. They had to book us with another airplane to make that happen, and we were lucky enough to grab the last couple seats. It was a small jet, which tend to move around a bit more. I was turning green by the time we landed. Again, we didn't get to sit together. This is why when we're within 10-12 hours driving distance we usually go that route. Otherwise, we try as much as possible to get a direct flight. It's to the point where we'll fly in a few hours away from our destination and drive the remaining distance, rather than to have a connecting flight to the nearest airport. So yeah, I'd have no issues rolling the dice with Allegiant and Frontier. Flying is always fun and exciting for us... until it's not.

I don't understand the morbid fascination of such an insignificant event. -

Just curious, but what makes the shuttle loops so great? I barely remember the one at Knotts. Although, that was pre-beer park times where all I wanted to do is ride the bigger and better coasters, instead of enjoying most things for what they are. -

That $23,500 fine must have sent a strong message throughout the industry. -

Those were the days. Think of all of the new coaster construction pictures we could have posted on the site since then. -

Reservations could go either way, but I could see masks being required throughout the season at most parks. I know very few people who've opted to get the vaccination, so I'm not sure how bright that light is. -

It's like getting disappointment on top of our usual disappointment. 2021 is already looking better than 2020, just like everyone said. -
Ideal/Typical of the past warm season traveling: Another Cedar Point Breakers/FL+ 1st weekend of full operations trip >OR< return weekend stay at Hershey Another 10 day flying/road trip hitting a few parks along the way. Another August beachfront condo week in Pensacola Another FL+ 12am Closing trip to KI and another FL+/Fright Lane KI Haunt. Another trip to SF Great America to visit the park during the day and Lou Malnati's at night. Maybe during Last-Call Fall Festival 1st trip to SFoT or maybe a return trip to BGW. A night in Louisville and KK day. The strip at night for drinks. Reality: We had a COVID year baby. If we're very lucky we'll accomplish the following: A couple few-hour nightcap trips to SFSTL for beers and Screamin' Eagle rides. A day at KI My parents rented a beach house for immediate family in the Outer Banks, baby included. (bitter/sweet) Maybe an Indiana Beach weekend. Maybe a day/night stay at another Midwest park within 5 hours. (KK, KI, SFGam, SDC, WoF, IB, HW) At least one of those will not happen. I agree. There's a reason people are leaving the state. Good luck with housing near anywhere you'd want to live...

Dude is smoking some strong stuff in that video. The "prediction" youtube videos always make me laugh. They're responsible for users in groups such as the SFSTL Facebook page predicting hypers and RMC's for the past 10 years, yet we can't even get a full size endeavor. I'm predicting Knoebels will get a giga coaster in 2031, based on nothing, because my theory has just as evidence. -
Obviously it's not OK to try to hit someone, which I've yet to see, but being scared... Coaster enthusiasts with their standards, again.

^^ It's so annoying when people act frightened in haunted houses, right?

The Saturday before last, Eve took her first trip to a park. (7 months old) We were only there for a couple hours. Long enough to watch the big rides cycle. The park looked fine. The area around JB's seemed to be far less of a shit show that it was during our most recent chance to take advantage of it last year. It was closed during our couple hour depressed visit earlier this year. Here are some pictures, but unfortunately I have to make a disclaimer. Before I get jumped on and accused of being an anti-masker, they were taken off very briefly for a few pictures, only when safe and appropriate. I'm a rule follower by nature, so we were among most of the compliant guests. I hate that I have to say this. UZJgbQC.jpg[/img] First ever park picture. First time watching a roller coaster cycle. I didn't remember quite how loud Batman was until I stood near the first drop with a child. Eve watched the train until it went out of view. She's a very calm and very attentive child, unlike her father. First ever park beer. First ever "train selfie," which is kind of an inside joke between Emily and I. First ride. Ever... Eve's 8-month-old cousin was also with us. We were only at the park a couple hours. Our drive to-and-from was just as long, but the kid does great in the car. Eve was calm and observant during our visit. Emily had her first ever public diaper changing table experience, which she claimed wasn't easy under multiple layers of clothing. I would have hopped on a ride quickly with my brother-in-law, but lines looked painfully slow moving. I hate how American Thunder still cycles an empty train in between sanitizing. It was nice seeing Xcaliber running. I forgot how massive it is. The kids were wide-eyed watching it cycle. Eve seemed to be paying more attention to the details than her cousin, which made me happy. From time to time, Eve and I will watch roller coaster videos and walkthroughs in front of our television, so I almost wonder if she was ever-so-slightly more familiar with the sights and sounds. However, it's our first and last baby, so I don't know jack about their thought processes. Who would have thought a park would have been so enjoyable for us without riding any rides other than the train? We bought season passes, so we'll be back next year. Hopefully Eve will be big enough to ride a couple of the kiddie rides with me. -
