I think we're booking two nights at Breakers. Wednesday, June 29th, and Thursday, June 30th. We'll be at the park those days. Is that suicide, being so close to Independence Day? It's the following Monday. I'm hoping we won't have hour long FL+ lines. The total is around $850. Then, another $600'ish added on for FL+, which we'll order now. Everything is crazy right now, but prices everywhere are going up by-the-day. We booked our Cancun resort a month ago and it was $600 a night. It's up to $700 a night now. Trying to get everything reserved for the summer, before things double. We thought about hopping a plane and going somewhere, but since our new car will be here in a month or so, after it gets finished anchoring off of the coast, we'll pay the $7/gallon it takes to drive to CP. (approximately $500 round trip)

Not true. Boomerang and Fireball are less than ten years old.

I went to a homicide training/seminar last week. Long story short, one of the incidents involved parents pushing their deceased infant through the park in a stroller, knowing he was dead. True story. Enjoy your next visit. Cheers.

YES!!! I'm seriously so glad I triggered him again! Bert, hit me up when you're coming. TBH, chances are pretty slim we'll be able to hang, but let me know, just in case the stars align. I'm a detective again, so I usually get one day a week when I'm not working and I have to make sure I spend it with Emily and Eve. No idea WTF I was thinking taking this position, but now I'm stuck.

I'm just going to chime in here and say Saint Louis is a crime ridden shithole. Bert, I'm sorry. I've been here for 37 years. It may be fun to visit, but it's not nice to stay. We may have the city museum, a nice zoo, and a lot of other fun 'attractions,' but no one is rushing to this area to raise a family. This area has been depressed for years. I personally like a lot of things about our park, but it also needs a lot of work. You come from one of the best parks in the chain. SFFT has gotten a considerable amount of attention in the last decade. SFFTL got a used boomerang. In the meantime, they took away Splash Boats, Antique cars... and half... of our Go-Karts. The carrousel is rightfully being renovated, but even that is currently not operating. Xcaliber was SBNO for two years. American Thunder is arguably the last real exciting attraction the park received. I'm not really complaining about our park. It's fine. Personally, I don't give a shit. But, it's not cool to criticize the rightfully-so jaded long time members of this thread.... Except for the "Corporate hates our park" guy. Criticize away, because he'd hilarious.

If I'm already spending the money, and driving seven hours (or anything more than 50 minutes to SFSTL) I'll be damned if I'm not getting a skip-the-line pass. Although, you may be hard pressed to afford it with gas $4.00. Right up there with the FL+ and lodging increases. Try not to eat, or you'll be spending more there, too. Things are going swimmingly. But, Cedar Point raised their gate prices $10, so the world is ending and f*** all that other stuff.

Don't waste your money on FL+ here. You're not going to need it.

The new corporate leadership says the chain has enough thrills in its line-up, so don't count on your "larger investments" going toward a new roller coaster.

So... what were we supposed to get excited about this season? All I read was better chicken strips and some sprucing up of front gates. Nothing seems to be near term. I'm glad they recognize Six Flags Saint Louis has enough thrills. We've been spoiled ever since Boomerang.

Lol is the sky really falling? Could Dragster be closed forever? Maybe. Is it ExTrEmElY NaIvE to think it will open again? No. Far from it. Stop overreacting to what was an unforeseen freak accident. It was terrible, but let's not blow it out of proportion. Before someone flips shit about the queue placement, or makes claims of recklessness, how many other roller coasters have high speed passes close enough where a dislodged part of a train can kill someone? What on Earth are we going to do with Gatekeeper? Cork Screw is ffff'd. Tear it down. Steel Vengeance isn't just as likely? How many times have each and every one of us stood as close to a roller coaster as a pathway would allow, to "oooh and ahhh" at it as a train sped by? Has it never crossed anyone's mind that maybe... just maybe... there's a chance something could dislodge from the train and injure someone? Any roller coaster traveling over, or near any path has a similar potential. You're going to have to tear down the whole industry to rid guests of that danger. If CP changes the queue location, it's strictly a smoke-in-mirrors act.

^I've experienced that a couple times with skip-the-line passes before. It's really awkward to just kind of merge in, and shouldn't ever really happen on a ride as popular as Verbolten.

Oh, I don't think it would show up on any power-point presentation, but I'm betting it's in the back of their minds as something that has the potential to happen. I'm not sure you'll find it in any meeting notes. And yeah, I'm with you. I went to SFSTL on a BAFF day and it was shady as hell. I watched a girl literally piss herself in secret while we were waiting to board the Boss. We were the only ones who noticed.

They are probably waiting to see what lockdown measures Comrade Pritzker will have in place when it gets closer to opening day.

I had no idea this was even a controversy, but I can think of many other parks where Valravn would be a crowd favorite. Hell, think about Worlds of Fun. At this point they would gladly take Corkscrew, let alone Valravn.

Yes. Even if you get past the phone tree, you can't get anyone who speaks English well. Tech support is terrible and they always tell you to do a power cycle and consult the owner's manual.
