  1. Banshee, Diamondback, Fury, and all the slight to moderate head banging on the B&M's of the 90's. All standups and floorless conversions beat the piss out of you. A lot of the 2000's into the early teens seemed to be the most smooth B&M's, but nerds complained about them not being intense enough.
  2. I think the logo looks very tasteful and more reminiscent of Cedar Fair's logo. After the logo reveal, reading articles, and seeing statements from execs, I am becoming a little optimistic. It looks like they're openly admitting that Six Flags needs to come up to Cedar Fair standards, vs. the other way around. There have been multiple mentions of the former Six Flags being mismanaged. I hope they isolate the comics to the original Six flags parks and keep the clean lines feel of former Cedar Fair parks.

  4. yeahitwasajokedude The funniest most satisfying experience was when a ride op allowed a lady to ride Diamondback with her purse in a cross body position, while holding her flip flops. This was after she accused the ride ops profiling. We missed out on a fireworks ride experience, due to the delay. Her flip flops ejected out of the train on the first airtime hill. Justice served.

  6. It took me a while to realize that wasn't the area around the old "fresh/healthy" food stand. They Six Flags'd that area up real nice. They went from an old time looking building that at least blended into the area to modern faded water ride that quickly became unreliable and faded. What an upgrade. From one SBNO to another one more obvious. Again, it's just another closed family ride waved in your face. As much as the possibility of Six Flags ruining Cedar Fair parks discourages me, I have hope that Cedar Fair will clean this place up a little. Stop adding rides for a few years and give it the Worlds of Fun treatment by turning it into a place where families want to visit.

  8. It looks very weathered and like total shit. Cedar Fair management really needs to put some love into this park. Not patchwork, but make some real efforts to aesthetically improve the park.
  9. I've only seen it running once since it was constructed. It's just another ride closed for families. At least the carousel will be open soon.

  15. I read an article about CP the other day, and I swear it was written by AI. Here's what I did effortlessly. It could be tweaked easily. This is childs play compared to what is available. In addition to that, we have been researching Williamsburg Virginia. Some of the videos are clearly generated by AI. One of them in particular advertised our resort being on the water. It showed people on beautiful beaches. lol. Most of the information was spot on, with just enough quirks to make you realize the video is AI. If you weren't listening carefully, the voices may be confused with actual people. Once you hear it though, it's obvious. This has come very far very quickly.
  16. I saw it last Saturday. The ride was pretty much up, aside from mounting the seats. The queue and station have a long way to go. I talked my four-year-old daughter, Eve, into going on Rookie Racer. It was a lot more forceful than I thought it would be. She was scared. We're not quite there yet, but it marks her 5th coaster. Still waiting for her to like one... The two really rough roller skaters we rode last year set us back, for sure. We rode Thunder River and Eve loved it. We were lucky enough to get the least amount of splashes and never got drenched. We just watched the other side get owned through the whole ride. It was probably the highlight of the trip. The landscaping in the kids area is run down. There were a lot of empty flower beds filled with dirt and weeds around the park. The area around the old health food restaurant looks like complete neglected garbage. They had a character in the entrance plaza when we came, which was nice. The employee escorting Porky took a good picture of the three of us. My one big coaster of the day I rode was Mr. Freeze. It still kicks ass. They were running both sides and churning out trains. I had a station wait for the front (rear) row. It's crazy how riding way less coasters makes them so much more thrilling again, to the point where it actually got my heartrate up. The park wasn't crowded for a Saturday. I saw a lot of empty seats on coaster trains. The Dip-N-Dots dude hooked us up big time. Our cup was overflowing. The splash pad could use a new soft pad. It's stained. But, it kept plenty of kids entertained. The bathrooms I used were clean and modern. Everything else was just fine. We're probably done until next summer.

  19. Forgive me if another general topic has been created in reference to impacts artificial intelligence (AI) may have on amusement/theme parks. This can include advertising, engineering, data analysis, employment, ride design, attendance studies, security, food service, etc. I created this thread to expand on an existing one originally created to question the potential for AI in relation to marketing design. Can the threads be merged? It's very concerning in general how few people are paying attention to the AI boom. I have friends who look at me like I'm crazy, despite what the creators and tech experts are telling us directly. Related thread:
  20. I watched something on my Youtube feed that talked about the rapid expansion of fast food restaurants using robotics combined with AI to cook food. It seems to be particularly useful for frying. The outcome has already been cheaper and more efficient than hiring an employee. The machines can be leased with maintenance packages and offer various different options. They don't show up late for work. They don't sleep. They don't quit without notice. Their downtime is better in comparison to employees calling off sick. Contamination is less likely. The food is cooked more consistently. How often do people complain about food service in parks? The possibilities for AI advancing the theme park entertainment industry are vast. They extend far beyond ride design. If the creators and analysts involved in AI are completely wrong about the likeliness massive unemployment due to job replacement, you may even be able to afford a ticket and see this first hand.
