  1. Skyhawk from Cedar Point, with the control panel on my seat so i can set it to keep going while i relax and listen to music
  2. Oh trust me, living in Memphis i have learned people can sue you for ANYTHING, don't be surprised if they get a little money. Also, lets hope the media doesen't sway the opinion of the sheep of this country to demand higher fences. Edit: Just realized how hilarious "sheep demanding higher fences" sounds.
  3. Idea: Cedar Point removes challenge park for the expansion of Soak City and a new entrance is built with a waterslide going through it!!
  4. IMO its obvious why Cedar Fair has been going to B&M so much, they are reliable, gimmicky, people eaters that suck in guests each year. Just because its smart to go back to them for new attractions doesn't mean there is a mysterious contract going on.... If its marketable, cheaper to maintain, and eats through a line than I think its obvious why a park would give B&M a call... Same with RMC.
  5. RCTW looks like crap, Planet Coaster? Maybe, but ride animations are just fine with NL2.
  6. Source: CP Rundown Holy staircase..
  7. Have fun on your trip! You'll see me working the Skyride this year. As for Kentucky Kingdom, great third park. Every time my family went up there we would go to Kings Island --> Geauga Lake (RIP) ---> and Cedar Point. Coming from Memphis, going through Lexington to KK and then KI is a straight path.
  8. To help keep me from going insane from staring at a partially completed dive loop for the past few days, i am making an invert with a Rougarou layout and and a floorless with a Raptor layout on No Limits :'-)
  9. I'd go with late-ish August. At that point most schools will be back in session, so less vacations to Cedar Point at that time, and less locals making Monday/Tuesday day trips to the park, so overall the park should be less busy. Not only that, but less may flies, better weather, and i think less wind? Not sure about that one but if im right than that means rides wont close as much due to wind.
  10. That's not something that can really be explained in words. It's a pretty broad question. I will say this though, it's definitely the "token" ride to work. Tons and tons of fun. It definitely worked my upper body strength but also my legs and glutes significantly. Fantastic ride! I actually found a video about it on Youtube Interestingly, a motor runs the cable all around the course and their are guide wheels to support the cable at each support structure. No matter how much weight/vehicles there is on the course, there are counter weights that give the cable the right amount of tension + slack. I just freestyled that based off memory I got from watching the video once, so take it with a grain of salt. However, its interesting to say the least.
  11. Gotcha, I still have to catch on to the filters here. BTW, does anyone know how the Skyride works in operation? I have always wondered how and it interests me.
  12. Congratulations! Sky Ride is my guilty pleasure. Congrats! I used to work on skyride years ago...it was fun but I recommend you get your upper body in shape. That is what i figured. Gaining weight/muscle is not a friend of my families genetics (I'm 125 pounds regardless of eating habits or working out). I doubt it will be too much for me to handle, however. If it is, or it turns out i'm not as efficient for guest satisfaction, than I trust that the park will put me in a place that works better for me, the park, and especially the guests. BTW, is "fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo" a filter, or was it just a joke? lol
  13. Hey former or current employees, im curious as to how the housing is at the point?
  14. Hey guys! The interview went well. I am going to be at the Sky Ride!! This is going to be fun. I look forward to cross training as well.
  15. I honestly think Cedar Point gives information to The Sandusky Register to build anticipation (Gatekeeper & Valravn memos). Either that or The Sandusky Register has THE HOOKUP DAWG But seriously, if this is just an inaccurate rumor than I think Tony would have said it straight up instead of saying "We are currently focused on Valravn ---> THE FASTEST AND TALLEST DIVE COASTER IN THE WORLD <--- (So Cedar Point) IMO, STR is coming down and rightfully so.
  16. Posted yesterday by Cedar Point Every B&M at the park is in the photo
  17. Epic already! can't wait to see more.
  18. I would like to give a personal thank you to CoasterGypsy, Bestcoasterkidever!, and DoinItforTheFame for the advice and suggestions! It helped alot and I am glad i have that information now! Cheers!
  19. Hello! I am interviewing for a job at Cedar Point this week, if everything goes well I will be making the temporary move from Memphis, TN to Sandusky. Is there anyone else here that has moved across state lines to work at Cedar Point? If so how was the process of getting comfortable and making friends? Also, if anyone has any suggestions for the interview or other things please feel free! I would enjoy to hear your experiences, thanks!
  20. It would be cool if they started giving CF parks "nostalgia" themed sections of their parks. For example, walking through a section that has all old flats and carnival style lights/food. Maybe an old woodie or something. Just dreaming here. P.S. 60's/Vietnam era music plz
  21. That's why I get frustrated at smart phones, its 2016 but smartphones are essentially built to fail when we have the technology to make the longest lasting of devices.
  22. If anything, I find posts like this IMMENSELY more annoying and bitchy sounding than any post where someone suggests ways the ride could have been improved. Nobodies bitching except you. Merely supposing an alternative to "what is" is discussing roller coaster ideas on a roller coaster forum. Get over yourselves, the over-dramatics are absurd. I don't think there's a person on this forum that wouldn't take a ride on Valverononemomenener anyway, so I don't understand why anybody's getting their panties in a bunch. I don't mind those posts at all as long as they aren't over excessive. "I think the coaster could have been better if...it we be cool if B&M did this" is better than "B&M sucks, this coaster is going to be forceless!" and far better than "OMG quit bitching" --- nobody is bitching, they are just expressing their opinion, if you disagree with someone's opinion than feel free to share yours or move on.
  23. G-forces are the answer for the not-vertical question. The trains are much heavier than on a ride like Maverick. Just think about how much you get ejected on Maverick's first hill. Now imagine similar forces on a train as large as a dive machine. That's why rides with vertical, near vertical, and past vertical drops always have single to three car trains. It's also why modern hypers and giga's keep the curve going right until the pullout, with very little straight section the way old Arrow coasters used to. Then again, at this point in engineering, these "standards" are overcome more and more. Just look at how steep the drop is on Mako for example. They are really pushing the limits of engineering steep angles on longer trains these days. Thats what i was trying to say, thanks for putting it in better words!
