  1. Skyride was on pace to beat 2015's numbers but was down for almost all of Halloweekends unfortunately :/
  2. I have seen multiple people touch the ground on Kumba.
  3. It's literally the first ride people see when they come up to the park to enter. Also, the crew definitely helped. GateKeeper crew completely killed it this season.
  4. Yes, it was the genetic clone of the sky wheel that went over the main midway. Oh yes, the sky wheel. Almost as good as WildDog or Disaster Transformer.
  5. I also heard you worked the Manbis? maybe that Twisted Sister ride?
  6. Hmmm. I think you look familiar, i believe i may have seen you at that green ride. What is it called again? The Raven?
  7. Sorry to interrupt the magic, but here are two videos i found that i think are worth the watch: RWC Update Drone Footage of Cedar Point
  8. No. Just, no. I keed, I keed. Seriously though.
  9. Fun new game: Everytime someone mentions Mean Streak quote it with a picture of Skyride.
  10. Some pictures shared with me by Robbie Von Roll. Sorry about the videos, if someone could tell me how to upload them in a better format LMK! To view the videos, click on the actual file name not "view quicktime video" If anyone has any questions LMK. This is a brand new cable for SeaWorld in San Diego. Skyride Cables are replaced every 7-10 years. Up close. This part of the cabin is called the "grip" You see the peg sticking out at the top? This is called an "F arm" when a cabin is dispatching, it goes under something called the "(VR 101) pressure beam". The pressure beam does exactly what the name entitles, it presses down on the F arm and activates the clamp or "jaw" securing the grip onto the cable. When a cabin comes onto a platform the "F arm" hits another pressure beam, releasing the cable from the jaw. The "jaw" is in the middle, in this picture it is currently open. When the jaw is closed it surrounds the cable. Some Von Roll goodness A wind alarm. These are seen on many Von Roll Skyrides but not at Cedar Point. This is not from an actual skyride, but is used on one of Rob's replica skyride models. video-1477894670.mp4 Video in slow motion of a cabin crossing under a pressure beam, pressing on the F arm, activating the jaw. video-1477895505.mp4 Video of a cabin's F arm releasing the cable from the jaw. video-1481140233.mp4 Another angle of a jaw releasing the cable.
  11. Was just thinking, if a customer asked..RMC could probably mock up an inverted T-Rex or Raptor track coaster, right? Only limitations would be to design a new inverted train.
  12. *sees Skyride* *buys platinum pass*
  13. Now he is making me reminisce on this past season. Miss that platform!
  14. I love you so much, Tony. I hope in the future when the park is getting ready to open for the season he can do a periscope or vlog on how they reassemble the cabins and put them back on the transfer track. That would be really cool.
  15. Well that was really nice of him! How much do these replicas usually run for? Including shipping and fees the total is around $55. So, it's a little expensive but considering its hand-made and I have worked Skyride and like Von Roll a lot I consider it to be well worth it.
  16. Robbie Von Roll of the Von Roll family was nice enough to make me a replica of green cabin #16 in honor of Skyride Crew 2k16. This will look good on my desk, will probably find some CP stickers to slap on there for realism. And since we are doing memes...
  17. Just gonna calmly sneak this in here...
  18. I've seen it done on multiple inverts. It's faster to just do it yourself than to alert controls from what I've heard. However, they are not encouraged to do it because it can hurt their wrists.
  19. Thunder Canyon is a bucket list one for me. Heard it's the Skyride of A3 (as far as shutdowns and constant movement go)
  20. Ofcourse they do. We are part of their market, they like seeing how we react to things and some of our ideas. Actually, in Dick Kinzel's book he speaks about how they would read forums for ideas, reviews, criticisms, reactions etc. Don't forget a floorless conversion of Mantis was an enthusiast pipe dream for years before it happened. BTW: I am not trying to say parks look to enthusiasts all the time, or act like enthusiasts are super important and blah blah blah
  21. Wow! that sounds like an amazing experience. I bet it was awesome getting to go on a relaxing drive by yourself and take in the beautiful wildlife. Thanks for sharing!
  22. What has been your favorite ride(s) to work? This includes coasters, flat rides, and transportational rides (Von Roll Skyrides, Disney Monorails, Paddle wheel boats, trains, etc.)
  23. Yup! Kept zooming in and out of the big boat and back towards the lift. *Deleted picture because it was low quality and someone beat me to it *
  24. Webcam is currently turned back towards Mean Streak, got some crane action going on. That crane is getting it done! Two pieces of track gone within a 5 minute period.
