  1. Yes I know that. The thing that got me was that the train didn't stop until it was about to crest. Whenever I have seen a coaster stopped on a mcbr, the train going up the lift stops somewhere in the middle of the lift.
  2. I doubt the jump coaster would ever be built mainly because of the insurance issue already stated. A coaster that I think would be cool would be a floorless and inverted coaster put together. First you are on top of the track with floorless trains and then the coaster attaches to inverted track above. The train would have wheels on the bottom and top of the train. I know this would never happen but I like to imagine it.
  3. I have never witnessed or heard about a major break down on a B&M, but they so break down sometimes. I've seen Talon and Hydra break down multiple times and they have been down for a few hours, but they almost always reopen that day. I also saw Medusa at Great Adventure break down once and it was down for a few hours. A train got stuck on the mcbr and another train was going up the lift hill and it didn't stop until it was on the very top!
  4. ^There are always changes in plans. So I sure believe him.
  5. I sure hope this coaster is good. It would be nice to see another pre-fabricated wood coaster built.
  6. My favorite Arrow coaster would be Big Bad Wolf at Busch gardens Europe. The coaster is very smooth, has amazing theming, and you can't beat the drop over the Rhine! Coming in second would probably be Great American Scream Machine as Six Flags Great Adventure.
  7. Thanks for the update on Chiller! I really hope that the ride is/was bought by another park. I never had the pleasure of riding it, but it always looked like such an awesome ride.
  8. ^Man that sounds like an awesome Storm Runner ride! Commenting on your cold statement, I rode Kingda Ka in April this year and it was only 40. Let me just say I was numb when I got off.
  9. ^ Yeah that sounds about right for the system to reset. I've never seen Storm Runner rollback but once it did basically stop on the top hat and then went down the drop. Thanks for all the information guys! I can't wait to get to the park. I hope it's dead.
  10. I have only been on Wildcat and Lightning Racer. I have ridden both coasters every years since 2005 and neither coaster has gotten rougher. The only difference is that Wildcat got smoother with its new trains it received this past year. Even with the new trains the ride is still rough but not as bad. Both are great rides and have aged very well!
  11. ^^ Those lines aren't too bad but I really hope they are shorter. ^ I would be so mad if I was you! I really hope I get one. natatomic, I have a question for you. When Storm Runner had its rollback, how close was it to making it over? Also, after it rolledback, how long did it take for them to relaunch the train?
  12. ^ That is what I like to hear! All I want is station waits for Storm Runner, Lightning Racer, Great Bear, and Wildcat. Also since it is colder outside, are there more rollbacks on Storm Runner? I would love to have one even though my chances are very slim.
  13. I am planning on making a trip over to Hersheypark on 10/27/07, the last Saturday of the operating season. My question is, how are the crowds on a Saturday during Hershey's halloween event?
  14. I have only been on four but here they are: 1. Talon - Dorney Park 2. Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Europe 3. Batman: The Ride - Six Flags Great Adventure 4. Great Bear - Hersheypark
  15. They officially announced it today! The only thing bugging me is they don't say what the color scheme is. I guess we will just have to wait. http://www.dorneypark.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill_rides/voodoo.cfm
  16. ^Yea they switched back to 2 train operation around 5-5:30. I waited an hour from 6-7 for sixth row. It was the worst ride I ever had on it, even rougher than the back row. Even with it being rough it is still a great ride.
  17. I honestly hate them and I never had one. The only reason why I don't like them is because everyone is always talking about it and saying how great it is. It just gets me mad cause its all people at my school talk about when you talk about drinks. Also I'm not a fan of flavored water so I have no desire to try another.
  18. The ride is now listed on Dorney's website but they don't have any info except a 52" height limit. http://www.dorneypark.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill_rides/voodoo.cfm
  19. Yes it should be open. This past Saturday the 29th, it ran great all day with 4 trains in the afternoon causing a 2 train wait for any row except front. It only broke down once and this happened while I was strapped in the train, but it only was a 10 minute breakdown.
  20. I would not consider myself to be a credit whore because i don't go out of my way to ride a coaster that doesn't look great. When I go to a park I like to ride the coasters that I enjoy and I don't usually bother going on the kiddy coasters. I think I can prove this because I have been to Great Adventure 4 times and I have not yet ridden either side of Rolling Thunder or Black Beards Lost Treasure Train.
  21. The most thrilling drop on a steel coaster would have to be Griffon at Busch Gardens Europe. When sitting in the 3rd row and the holding brake releases, you just float out of your seat the whole 205 foot drop! The most thrilling drop on a wooden coaster is El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure. If you sit in the last row you seriously get whipped into the drop. This causes an insane amount of ejector airtime the whole way down. Other notable drops are Storm Runner's, Nitro's, Apollo's Chariot's, and Hydra's. Yes I did say Hydra, but that is the only good part of the ride.
  22. I visited Six Flags Great Adventure this past Saturday and it was the perfect day! It was about 75 degrees outside and it was sunny all day. The day started off by waking up at 6:45. I ate, showered, and got ready for the day. My mom and I picked up my friend and we were off to Great Adventure! We left around 8:15 and arrived just as the ropes dropped. First ride of the day was Nitro! We got the second or third train out for the day in front row. Nitro was running just as it always does. The ride was providing perfect floater air on every hill and the helix had nice positive g's throughout. We immediately followed our front row ride with a back row ride. Nitro has one of the best first drops in the back seat. All 215 feet your butt is out of the seat! Nitro ran 2 trains all day with no stacking. 10/10 Second ride of the day was Batman the Ride. It was a walk on for every row except front, so we choose to ride in the back. Our restraints were checked and we headed up the 105 foot tall lift. Batman was just as intense as I remembered it being. There was so much whippage on the corkscrews and the zero-g roll. It is such a great ride! Batman ran two trains all day with minimal stacking. 8/10 After Batman we headed to El Toro. I was so excited to ride Toro because I haven't had the chance to in over a year. It was a 2 train wait for the back row. WOW! El Toro is easily the best coaster I have ever ridden! The ejector airtime on this ride is out of this world! Also the rumors about the lift slowing are true but it only slows down a few miles an hour and it doesn't affect the ride at all. Toro ran 2 trains all day with no stacking. 10/10 We headed over to Kingda Ka after ridding Toro twice in the back. Ka's line was in the first switchback because they were only running two trains at this point. Right when we were let into the station they opened the other two trains so we took front row on Blueberry. The wait was about 35 minutes. Man I forgot how intense the launch on Ka really is. I had a very smooth ride on it and I don't see how people don't enjoy this ride. Ka operated four trains all afternoon with perfect dispatches and then switched to one train operation around 5:30. 9/10 After we had a few rides on Kingda Ka we headed over to Medusa. Medusa is just so awesome. It was a walk on to the back row. We had a very smooth and forceful ride on Medusa. This is still one of my favorites. Medusa ran 2 trains all day with no stacking. 9/10 Throughout the day we just rode Kingda Ka, El Toro, and Nitro. The park never really got crowded so waits were minimal. The longest wait was for Ka around 6. They went back to 2 train operation and I waited an hour for 6th row which was so rough it gave me a headache. I will never ride Ka again unless it is in rows 1 or 2. Ride totals: Kingda Ka- 5x's El Toro- 4x's Nitro- 3x's Medusa- 1x Batman- 1x Total- 14 rides from 10-7 Wait times: Kingda Ka- 35, 15, 20, 15, 60 El Toro- 5, 2, 20, 40 Nitro- 5, 0, 30 Medusa- 0 Batman- 0 This was the best day at an amusement park I have ever had! Lines were short, weather was perfect, and there wasn't any line jumping! Throughout the day I rode Ka 3 times in the front. Also, I rode Ka in the back and the middle and I thought the middle was the roughest. Toro is amazing in the front and back, but I prefer the back for the drop. Dispatches were great on all the coasters especially Ka when it was running all four trains. As soon as the second train was on the brakes the other two were being sent out. I can't wait to go back next April.
  23. ^^Wild Mouse is not for an 8 year old? Those types of rides are for the whole family to ride. I really wish Hershey builds a hyper in the future but I just don't see it happening.
  24. Kingda Ka, 6th row around 7:00. The ride was so rough that it hurt. I always thought people were joking about the roughness but they aren't! It is still a great ride up front though! I had 3 front row rides today.
  25. I was at the park today and they were advertising the new ride throughout the day, but didn't give specific details. The only detail given was it will be an indoor coaster.
