Surprised no one has mentioned it but a snippit in PArk World and a update or two on Screamscape seem to point to Adventure Dome getting a custom S&S El Loco soon http://www.parkworld-online.com/news/fullstory.php/aid/2405/Ride_Manufacturer_Update.html -

Had a one of those tobboggan rides at Dogpatch. Oof. Think it's up in Wisconsin still going. -
What's your opinion of not thriving? Things in Memphis is actually looking up under some competent leadership. Nat Geo list memphis one of the must see places of 2013 http://www.memphistravel.com/national-geographic-names-memphis-2013-must-see-place Still think Mud Island screams a Tom and Huck themed Waterpark on the middle portion.

The Park was slammed this weekend, 23,000 on Sat and 16,000 on Sun. We had 75 degree weather this past weekend here in the Ozarks. Park was named in the Top Ten of an USA Today feature on places that have extreme light displays as well. One of my coworkers went on Sat and he said it was insane. -
We love the SDC train ride with the hold up skit in the regular season and the Christmas version. My wish, since SDC is supposed to be a working city in the late 1800's is if they expand the park that they theme the train workshop with a period style round house and turntable so that the maintenence would blend seemlessly into the park and actually add to the attraction.

Ho Hum. There's a TRex Cafe across town with moving Dinosauars -
Backtrack is a neat concept. Smaller footprint, Nostalgia of a woody and the tameness for a good all of the family ride. A park like Silver Dollar City would be idea for a ride like this considering it'll still be without a traditional non inversion woodie. Outlaw Run will not appeal to all of the park's patrons. Likely GP pleaser but not a hit with enthusiasts.

Hmmm.... When I was a kid, it was very tough to find size thirteen shoes, now it's not an issue. We are taller and our frames are larger as well. It's not just a weight thing. My chesct makes it very difficult to ride a B&M like Wildfire with it's OTSR with latchbelts.

It just doesn't seem like it's anywhere close to an ideal location for a casino, right across from the airport. Most casinos want a bit of a resort feel to them, at least that's what I see in my neck of the woods with the Indian casinos of Oklahoma seemingly trying to go upscale instead of the metal buildings off of interstate exits.
-
And there's the reason why things have gone the way they have. They want to make it seem like there was no way the park could have ever been saved so they can build a casino. Might not be the worst trade off at this point. Why can't Kentucky do both? As an Arkansas resident, I'm sick of money flowing to the Indian Casinos in Oklahoma, Casinos in dumps like Sheveport, in the middle of cotton patches ofTunica Mississippi and across the bridge in Helena on floating barges. All the while, a town that was famous for it called Hot Springs could boom from it but I don't see how that would effect Magic Springs or vice versa.

Remember this when you vote for folks that support the notion that goverment can run anything efficiently. Outsider with a complete lack of knowledge could read that if someone started digging further into the connections of the folks behind the Ark project and the politicos running things, one might find more like donations to PACs and such. It seems clear that the Governor's admin is choosing which project he'd like to see and not allow something else to compete with it. The question is why, cause the Ark thing seems pie in the sky and given all the breaks.

Screamscape thinks this small footprint coaster is going to Elitch Gardens. Its managed by HFEC but owned by the some outfit that owns Magic Springs. Now Herschend manages Darien Lake owned by same outfit. I could swear there's an S&S shot tower still sitting at Celebration City along with OzCat and Flume ride.

The water park and the concert series thats free for those that buy admission to the park are driving the park. Being an Arkie, I'd love to see a couple of the smaller footprint rides like an S&S el loco or something go in. A Mack Spinner would rock. My wish would be to for Magic Springs to purchase and relocate OZcat there but Herchend seems content on letting it rot.

I'd say yes, something to do with that tower. I don't see it being used as a queue this time, maybe turning it in to a building for theming of some sort...Assuming we're talking about a future coaster, there's a good plot of land there, and as much as I'd love to see something a little more original for SDC, that's not a bad spot for a Eurofighter like Mystery Mine...or an Aquatrax . Honestly, I can't think of any reason they would keep that tower other than to cover it up as a building for some kind of theming. I guess I've wondered about that one for a while. http://silverdollarcity2013.com/ They added a new video from Branson TV to their videos page. Still not the POV I was hoping for, but still kind of cool. Branson TV is sort of like an info channel for tourists that just promotes shows and attractions in the area. I remember a long time ago seeing the promo for Buzzsaw Falls on that channel, during that trip to Branson I went to the park and Buzzsaw Falls was testing, due to open the following week! Not the best memory, but then again after riding Buzzsaw Falls I realized I didn't miss out on much. That area could hold a eurofighter like Mystery Mine, a S&S El loco or a custom spinner like the mack, gerlauster and such. It could be an indoor/outdoor ride themed in a icehouse or old warehouse or grainery. My ultimate wish is to see FITH redone. Keep the theme and storyline but with modern effects. When the ride gets to the burning bridge a timber falls across the track on the other side and then it drops straight down like Verbolten into complete darkness and launched as you hear FIRE IN THE HOLE into a fast paced finale. If they ever get to redoing or replacing Thunderation that fills the mine train standard I think it would be cool to see a drop tower incorporated into it. As you get to end of the queue, you board an elevator car that holds the amount of folks that the coaster train will hold as a means to go down the mine shaft. As you have straped in and the cage closes you start to descend slowly and once you get out of view of the load platform, it malfunctions and stops You hear noises and then boom you freefall in total darkness. as you get to the bottom it slows and there you get off and board the coaster. -

Sadly, I think OzCat will rot away if they don't redevelop the CC site soon. It was designed for a flat footprint that doesn't exist at SDC -
