  1. Love the details of this ride. Like the fact that the wheels are turning in different directions like they suppose to do (you can notice it in de video a little). Getting exited here just 2 more weeks before I'm going to drop from that tower into the gold-mine.
  2. ^ With this being England I think that would be the best choice. Because, no offence meant here but in England people are a little more on the news side then the fact side. As elsewhere this would pass like a cold and that would never been spoken of again, I learned that in England the news can literally make or break someone or something. That is something I've concluded from a distance, perhaps English people might feel different about that. So renaming the Smiler, in my eyes, might be something Alton Towers can do to flip the coaster image to something positive again.
  3. That soundtrack was pretty sweet hope it's meant for the ride as well. Good to see testing going on. Still no date? Or did I mis some news?
  4. Just to let you know what happens when Dutch Politics are getting involved: You have one party that is fully agains the selling of this product namely the ChristenUnie (Christian Union) as they find it in unappropriate, shocker, and another parties youth side that is supporting the park. The result: The youth side will defend the park by giving free condoms away at the entrance, they are of the opinion politics shouldn't be bordered by what the park sells and are happy the condoms are so easy to get a hold on. Source Dutch. It's kind off funny if you ask me. And I always knew Merlin does weird stuff, so selling condoms didn't get me as much as those wrong puns of theirs. Lol.
  5. That would be wrong on so many levels. Didn't seem like the park had a hard time deciding this. I'm not going to lie this is kind off wrong from parks to sell, but if you know your main source of guest will "do it", I mean we can deny all day they don't but who are we fooling, you at least can make sure as park you provide some protection.
  6. Last month I worked really hard on all 3 park plans for the 5 year celebration. For some time I thought I wouldn't get it done but still managed to get it done a day before I planned it. I only work on the shields of Emperor's new cloths (Promised to do that after losing the circle )and Pinocchio These I will release over 2 weeks. There is a lot post the upcomming weeks. The concept art of Baron 1898: Summer version, trains will come on July 1st: Winter version:
  7. This ride sounds better and better. I just wish they worked faster, I know they are working on it and as fast as they could but I want more track work I want to know how this thing lay-out is, this will look amazing when done.
  8. Could be me but isn't the E-brake activated during a evacuation? (I honestly don't know always assumed it is) I mean to prevent the ride from either rebooting itself or fall victim to malfunctions during this crucial, and delicate, work. After reading for the past few days the human error theory seems to be the most logical one, Someone should have checked if the block was clear before pushing on the ride. But lets just wait and see what the investigation has to say to make sure.
  9. ^ Did the park say it literally? No, not that I know of, but like I said Drawing 1 is 100% correct (I can get all pictures to prove it if you want me too) that means the 3 lines (Single rider, regular and Front row) come together at point 6. Then it's just putting 1 and 1 together to figure out we have actual pre-shows and since there are 2 rooms before the station when you think about it you'll get the point that there are 2 pre-shows. Drawing 2 isn't 100% correct but here's a small list of the things I'm not sure off: - 3 lines: Well the coaster has 3 rows and the front seat needs a separate line on the inside. Take the part that there are 3 doors 3 lines seems like the logical answer, but there could very well be only 2 lines. - What happens in room 2 and 3: Well 2 big rooms how high is the chance they both hold a pre-show? Pretty big right? So I assume they're preshow rooms, although what is inside of each room brings up a question mark. Well that was it. 4 is proven by the fact that I found the path of 5 during the steel construction, and again putting 1 and 1 together means that 4 is de boarding side and 5 the exit side.
  10. This is the reason I'm happy to see less and less of coaster news, because lately they only take on the negative and make it worse then it is. I mean the media could have made this a "unusual incident" but they make it sound like this was meant to happen to the ride because in the past this and this happened. I hate that, those things have (I assume) nothing to do with the current incident. The Media should point out more that incidents are just uncommon not like it's an everyday thing. I kind of fear the day this will get out of hand in a real bad way, not that I expect that day to be soon as most people will have forgotten about the Smiler before the year is over.
  11. This is getting worse every time a take a look at the thread. Lost of limbs? Human failure? Park still closed. But I understood one of the four is home now, right? This isn't looking good at all. Just interesting to see the park walking away from this much money for a incident, Like I said earlier I understand the ride and even the area needs to close but the whole park.
  12. Okay might have some bad or good news about the ride just depends on how you look at it: A Theory on the ride Queueing (pictures and theory is made by myself): Top view outside (Note this is 100% correct): As you can see on 1 there is the entrance and we have 2 lines (now confirmed that Blue is the Single rider line and Orange the regular line). Blue takes a direct U turn after it passed the first building (nr 7 on the top view) and lead straight to number 6, the orange however goes into the open area between the coasters track there it will have 2 points (nr 3 and 4) where it can become bigger (made those parts dark red) until it reached number 5. On number 5 the regular queue splits up in in red and yellow (continuation of the regular queue and front row seats) and they meet up between the building and the blue queue on number 6. So as you can see number 6 (before entering the building) is where we come to gather, now for the bad news if you ask me. Lets take a look at the building right (This part might have some small differences like the red and purple line could be 1 line instead of 2): So number 6 is now number 1 and you have guessed it by now, right? Yes on number 1 we most likely have a employe that will point out which of the 3 doors (yellow first row, red second row or purple last row empty train seats will be fille dup with the single rider line here, we have to take in order to sit at our seats in the ride, Note the first row gets the yellow path the regular line will be split up in red and purple. Then when the groups are complete on number 1 we will advance further to number 2 where we get a pre-show (most likely like talking) and after that we can climb up a little stair to go to number 3 where again a pre-show awaits us (This time moste likely with the animatronics). Then we will make a sharp turn to the right before reaching number 4 where we finally can enter the ride, then when we get back and our restrain lets go we will exit at the side of number 5 and will follow the light gray path to the exit (first a stair up over the track then we get outside and descend a stair before entering the chimney building where we get to see our face during the ride and then a small step to exit completely). So yeah getting 2 actual pre-shows doesn't get me exited at all, really hate the thought of that on a coaster, I'd much rather have walkthrough or small groups that could run basically to the train instead of 2 rooms where I'm forced to listen to a story I will hear thousands of times, also 2 shows are really too much if you ask me. Keep in mind that from the second picture I speculate some stuff but when you think about it it seems like the most logical move they're going for now. Anyway what do you guy's think of this?
  13. IMAscore has proven to be great with attraction music, take flug der Dämonen and Smiler they are some of my favorite soundtracks, and I'm happy to see them in more and more parks in Europe. Good to see them providing soundtrack to a ride like Kärnan, to where I suspect it will not just end with a: surrounding, queue and station music. I mean I think we can at least expect some soundtrack in when climbing that 73 meter high tower.
  14. ^ That's a really big action from the park. I would have imagen X-Sector to be close down until investigation was over, but the whole park closed down because of this seems a little drastic. I understand the park has to respond in a certain way and I'm sure they made the right choice. And seeing the picturers that doesn't look good at all, I wonder how they it could happen.
  15. This will be the location of the new Fairy tale, or so I'm told: Source: vijfzintuigen.nl Yes on the spot where this closed building stand. In de Noordpool (Inside the North pole) opened back in 1955 (a small 3 years after the parks first year) a small snack Shop right after you come down from Roodkapje (Little Red Riding Hood). With the growth of the park it closed down back in 1978 and remaind resting on this soil to be demolished at the end of this year. Not all will be lost as I understood, cause the guy pointing to the canon and his canon will find a new place in the park (although the park refuse to say where). Fans have mixed feelings because of the age of the building, know they have a thing for nostalgia but also wishes the to expand further. Anyway the park seems to be ready for their 29th Fairy tale as they posted this on their Facebook: Translation: You will never see me in the Efteling. Well besides the fact I care less for a new Fairy Tale It's something worth sharing right? To the more interesting part of today: Man like the music very cheerful and great for the area around the coaster, just hoping on some darker tune inside. That mine car was something I kept in mind that could be removed from the plans, happy to see it didn't.
  16. Sounds like a fun ride. Really love this train design, had a hard time beleving the spinning coaster when I saw them.
  17. So it's finally done. Now I can't wait for them to open it so I can go and check it out, seems like a crazy ride.
  18. Are they still aiming for a 2015 opening? I mean the ride isn't even done yet, it just feels like they're behind.
  19. ^Not that I'm nitpicking but there is no official date so far from the park. Yes the July opening is likely but still the park has not said a word about that, I do expect the park will communicate something soon. The lift speed is slightly faster then older brother Krake, Krake climbs 40 meters in 30 seconds Baron does 30~ meters in 20 seconds, Baron just has 1 lift piece of 10 meters less then Krake but I doubt that piece takes away 10 seconds, so it's slightly faster indeed.
  20. Seeing it today in action myself I have zero fear this ride will leave me hanging. Just that speed with empty trains sold me, very much looking forward to openings day, Official announcement can't be to far away now.
  21. The park looks beautiful even from above. Man Taron truly is the spaghetti bowl of coasters, I mean there is no telling how this thing will curl into that small space.
  22. Made this video of today's testing, It's my first time doing a off ride video so please spare me :
  23. So this video showed up with the ride actually hanging a few seconds for dropping. After that it's still pretty much runs all the way through the end of the ride instead of having those crawling moments like the other Dives. I must say I'm very much impressed with the pacing so far let's just hope it doesn't end up slower near openings day.
  24. If my memory was right I remember watching Oblivion tbh test video had it really crawling through that heartline at the end but in later videos made a easy roll through it. But I have to rewatch the videos to make sure.
  25. considering the first test phase the ride is slower then the actual ride, this one has some serious speed. Didn't expect that.
