  1. Well spoke pagemaster_b! I am actually reading As I lay Dying right now. I began by emulating Ray Bradbury in 7th grade. Then Stephen King (bad choice). Right now, I've been reading a lot of Charles Bukowski and you guys are probably right when saying that I'm trying to hard to emulate his style... Except when I write it's disjointed. The biggest problem I have is that I can see everything in my head, like a painting, but the words never seem to become what is in my mind, and, if they do, it's too esoteric and lacking to everyone else since they don't see the same picture.
  2. Concerning the convoluted comments, it's ironic since I actually went through a phase of forced, awkward writing where I would simply change words for the sake of making myself sound smarter. It was dumb. However, the problem may be that, now, I use those words because I actually know what they mean... The other ironic thing is that I'm deathly afraid of convolution--it's the reason why I can't write a book--and it's something I've fought against. I just write a stream of conscious and what happens happens. I guess the way my mind works is to be convoluted... But isn't that how thoughts often are?
  3. I'm going to send my writing away to a small publishing house called Barbican Books located up in Berkeley. It takes about three months for them to respond. I've attached the word document that is what I'm sending. It consists of ten poems and one short story, as per their request... When I get their reply in three months, I'll bump this topic to let you guys know! Anybody have any tips, recommendations, knowledge? Evan "The Budding writer" Pug-h PS: If you are interested in more from me, I'm willing to send you all 86 pages of poetry... Oh, AND: If I found out that you've stolen my writing, I will kill you. 4. The insulation is a bit... uh... neat. Where'd you get it?
  5. Anything other than pins? I, uhm, have a Disneyland ticket stub from December 17th...2005... and a piece of the entertainment guide that says the name of the Parade we performed in. Shirts don't count as memerobilia. Too normal. Haha.
  6. ^Psyclone is wooden, jab your ribs pain. Windjammer is more... "JESUS F***ING CHRIST!" Manhattan Express type of pain... I think... All I have are good memories of it...
  7. Does E:E take a long time to really get to the meaty roller coaster part? It seems as if the ride does a lot of meandering and not a lot of thrilling... Isn't this a thrill ride? Oh well, at least it's pretty.
  8. Hmph... Heyday Ghostrider... How I miss thee. I like old Artist Renderings better... you can see all the hyperbolic theming elements around the roller coaster that not quite got put in.
  9. I wonder what it'd be like riding in that thing, rightside up in a loop de loop de. Whoa crazy.
  10. I don't know if I'd want to ride it if it reopened... especially with the pictures I've seen of the trains...
  11. Anyone like the Danger Doom album with all the ATHF\Harvey birdman\etc. samples on it? It's such a good album. Totally recommend it. It opens up with Brak going, "Why did you buy this album? You're stupid." Awesome.
  12. Either I'm jaded or that coaster looks like it's going to suck. Maybe it's the whole surrealist-desert it's set in. But, goddam, it just looks like a no-trick pony out and back... Better have some airtime.
  13. I figured this would be the appropriate thread to post this in, but, uh... Disneyland Cast Member Strike next month? What?
  14. This is reminding me of my economics class... They're producing at a loss in the short run since that's what most businesses in a Monopolistic Competition do in order to compete with other businesses. But, suddenly, they're operating at a loss to have the new and biggest thrill ride. That creates their economic profit in the short run and they're happy. But in the long run, they're way off worse than they ever were in the short run. Shapiro may have had a "Holy Shit!" moment or maybe his advisors?
  15. Why does Nintendo do this? Why not just make the original small? Damn them and their capitalistic minds...
  16. My friend and I have been having an argument over which album is better. What's the general consensus here?
  17. Tweeking! Methamphetamine!!! My sister told me that, at 3 AM in Wal Mart you can see all the Meth heads staring at the fish... Oh hey, check out the signature. Kotex Fits.
  18. Sorry, I just thought that was funny... But, yea, one park down (SFAW). Who's next, bitches!?
  19. This sounds like an accident that happened at a band tournament in Rubidoux just last October. A kid from the Arroyo HS Drumline collapsed on the field and was later pronounced dead of an ashtma attack... It's sad to see these things happen to young people...
  20. I can tell you one thing: no one would pick Goliath. Well, maybe the one in Holland. I'd pick Space Mountain, It'd be easy to sleep since it'd be dark... Or I'd pick Superman: Krypton Koaster at SFFT. That one would be bitchin.
  21. Erect them Williams Grove style! Six Flags Picnic! Yea bitches!
  22. Heh, I was just there with all the bands doing the Fiesta Bowl Ntl. Band Championship! Wow, it sure was a LOT more crowded than that... The whole place seemed nice, but it was hard to enjoy anything with 19 high school marching bands plus chaperones in the place. I don't think that place was made for more than, like, 300 people max.
  23. Just the fact, as aforementioned, that he's reaching out to the employees is a step forward. F'in S. I can't even imagine a worse-version of SFMM. Maybe if they didn't have a petting zoo? Nahh
