  1. So sorry to hear this Phil. Good news that he's currently off the ventilator and improving. . I really hope things continue in this direction (this time). Sending lots of good vibes and thoughts y'all's way. (and get over the stomach bug soon! likely exacerbated by the stress of the whole situation - not to mention the stress of the week ) but thinking of you both, and hope things will trend positively! hugs, bert
  2. good. . makes em easy to pass up ! gotta stick to my diet UNTIL vacations (we have that cruise in Feb coming up first too). . .so i can at least start off svelte enough to fit into a coaster easily! and you're just like my Jewish Mother! "these taste terrible. . . try one!"
  3. Nope. . not gonna cancel. it's ON! TWO bucket list things for me: CP, and getting to meet Bill in person!
  4. I *want* that candy corn necklace! Love it. and wOOt for the Coastermania/CP trip (even if I don't get a shout out ).. .. we're gonna have an amazing time!
  5. personally, I got about an hour of sleep last night, and have spent most of the morning in tears that simply won't stop coming. and my friends reaching out and saying they are sorry and that they didn't think of any consequences other than voting their conscience, and that they are "here" for me?.. yeah. . too raw right now to deal with that. but all my brothers and sisters (and in between) in this thread.. . i'm thinking of all of us, and doing some praying.
  6. Congratulations. (although, there is no moving anywhere safe and comfortable now, unless you are considering Canada).
  7. but it wont be the same for 2 big reasons: 1) they've made Dwight so unlikeable (as they did with the Andrea character on the show), there's simply no way to redeem him. and 2) Darryl. Who doesn't exist in the comic. So brings a WHOLE new storytelling opportunity here.
  8. Went to the Austin F1 track (Circuit of the Americas) today, for the Vintage Car Racing. it got rained out after 2pm, but still had a great time. . in particular going up to the race tower for a bit and standing high above the track. got some new "favorite" pictures out of it
  9. it's so weird to see folks freaking out. .it was exactly like it was in the comic (no spoilers, but at least the 2nd part of it).
  10. great pics! and looks like you hit the park with fairly light crowds! looking forward to reading more.
  11. HA! and you made fun of me for "assuming" you'd ride Wildcat. 2nd ride of the day! LOL.. . and you left it off your summary at the end of the report! glad you had fun, and great pics.
  12. Some biggies over the past few days for me (including Steve Dillon, the co-creator of "Preacher" comic), and Kevin Meaney. but this one hits hard, as I am a huge fan of Pete, and his attitude of "no F's to give" R.I.P. Pete Burns: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  13. Fixed that for you. This. Hershey's Whip sucks hard. It's slow as hell and runs a ridiculously short cycle. we liked it, but we rode Whip at all the Penn parks we hit and liked all of them (Kennywood was our favorite). . and it's right there between the two coasters he's going on anyways
  14. If I recall, we enjoyed Hershey's Whip (between Wildcat and Racer)
  15. sounds like it still will, it just won't run in front of that building anymore. it doesn't stop at the "downtown station" anyways. . so really sounds like they just want HP to move the track. (based on that little blub that Boldikus posted)
  16. Rammstein, eh? I heard about them from a friend just today. Are they any good live? Aside for at Download where it was a it of a dud (still an 8/10 I'd say, but not the usual 10/10) since the speakers got a bit trashed by the rain, they are absolutely on point every other time I've seen them. Amazing light show and pyrotechnics. During their 2012 tour, they opened their set by lowering a massive walkway over the crowd. They aren't a band that skimp out on production value: I saw them open for KMFDM in the early 90's and they were embarrassingly "shocking".. . think GWAR crossed with Impotent Sea Snakes - but with all the prosthetics being genitalia. they sure have come a long way! (the music was great even back then, but the stage show was. . . um.. . . confusing. . LOL).
  17. if you don't mind leaving the park, see if you can take the shuttle to Hershey Lodge - the sit down restaurants in there are all decent to very good (and one (the Bear's Den) is themed to an ice hockey rink!). and the bar by the big fireplace lets you have massive Chocolate Martinis!
  18. That's great! we have this in San Antonio, that bills itself as "the Worlds First Accessible Family Fun Park" http://www.morganswonderland.com/
  19. Great report, Bill. you really know how to cram in the fun. .it's exhausting just reading your adventures!
  20. Great report. I wanna see pics of the Magnets you got! (the only good BGW we could find was the guitar/clip magnet from Britain, so curious to see what you picked up).
  21. if you weren't aware, "Rent" is based on the opera "La boheme". . . Larson took the basic story structure and re-imagined it to set it during the health crisis among the Bohemian community in New York. check out the plot. .it's close https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_boh%C3%A8me
  22. I've never been able to sit thru Les Miserables. . . .LOL . tried twice in theater productions (both times left after 1st act), and I even tried to sit thru the film version MULTIPLE times. it's just not my cuppa.
  23. wow. .that Bellini looks amazing! now I want one!
