To be honest, most of the long-term die-hard "TPR Haters" are actually grown adults in their 30s or 40s. Which makes it even more sad & pathetic! but the comments section says TPR is full of 15 & 16 year olds (which is interesting, since most of the folks I'm friendly with are in their 40's, or older (Hi Bill!) ) they COULDN'T be wrong! my worldview will collapse upon itself if online comments were, sob, *lies*

Where Are You Going in 2017?
bert425 replied to ytterbiumanalyst's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
the only one on my list is Cedar Point (for my first time). but that's because my Husband and I are doing a Cruise in Feb.. . so I'm assuming that will cover our "family" trip this year. so likely our next big theme park trip together is not until 2018. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

^ ah. I'd recommend the one on "the Waterfront" too then it's seriously less than 10 minutes from Kennywood, and was beautiful area. http://hamptoninn3.hilton.com/en/hotels/pennsylvania/hampton-inn-and-suites-pittsburgh-waterfront-west-homestead-PITWHHX/index.html -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

It was actually pretty easy with the Kennywood arrows......and there's plenty of eats around the hotel and one of the nicest continental breakfasts I have seen for a hotel. is that the one that's on the Waterfront? if yes, so close to the park, and LOTS of restaurants right there (and bars). . . we stayed there a couple of years ago. -
I'm a mermaid at Weeki Wachee!

yep. the only time we eat at Six Flags is if there is NO other option. and typically there is another option.

Had a wonderful time at Dragon*con, and got some GREAT pics too: (I look so happy in all of em, because 1) I was with friends & 2) was off work. . LOL)

Thanks, Bill...you are right in that no one can ever get too many hugs! Michael is resting in his chair now - it's good to see him sleep so he doesn't have to deal with that God-awful body itching! I have the alarm set for 4 AM tomorrow so that we will have plenty of time to drive to Buffalo for his 7 AM procedure. Fingers are double-crossed that there are no issues or complications and at this time tomorrow, I hope we'll be back home saying, "WTF just happened?"! I've been out of town and so sorry to hear you and Micheal are going thru this! joining Bill in sending hugs, and lots of good thoughts and vibes y'all's way. Hope things are continuing to improve! (I had a physical on 8/29 before leaving town, and a huge fight with my PCP who was upset my cardiologist took me off Lipitor. He wanted me back on it, and I refused. He kept saying, I don't understand why he would take you off it?? and the answer is because I WANTED to be off the statin. . . I dropped 70lbs, my cholesterol count is in the normal range now, and even with minor buildup around my heart (2 instead of 1, but not in dangerous 4 zone), I simply did NOT want to be on a statin anymore. and the Cardiologist agreed and took me off it after we did follow up blood work. I was thinking I might have to get a new PCP, but he agreed to let me try to maintain cholesterol levels holistically -- lots of dark chocolate and red yeast rice .. . THAT I can do )

as someone opined a few pages back, I too, would love if Fiesta would install a skyride from where Gullywasher is (or where Wagon Wheel used to be) over to near the boardwalk entrance (as long as they wouldn't remove Hustler to do it). I don't think this would ever happen (the big arena theater, and Batman would probably be in the way now). . but how great would it be to have a skyride from one side of the park to the other?

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Volcano. we followed advice here on TPR and went there 1st. (followed by Avalanche, I305, Flight of Fear, and Anaconda . . .i remember the order, because i REALLY had to pee, and there are absolutely no toilets in that area, but the rides were opening one after the other with no lines, so we went from one to the other to the other) -
it's been there for at least 6 years. .it's the bypass, so all the traffic doesn't have to go over the Dam. . it really cut traffic there (which was the intended purpose -- keep ALL those cars/potential threats off the top of the Dam). This pic is from early 2012, from the Overlook across the Dam, where the main road used to take you (so the bridge would be over on the left past the finger in the pic ). as you can see, the bypass bridge REALLY cut down on traffic over the Dam.

it's looking like I won't make it to the park (again) this year during Dragon*con it's only open Sat/Sun/Monday, and I was really planning to blow off a day of con, but then they offered free admission to the Puppetry Museum (including the touring "Labyrinth" exhibition) with the Dragon*con badge during the weekend. I could still do SixFlags, but now I'd be alone, and, to be honest, I'm really INTERESTED in the puppetry museum and the Jim Henson exhibit. sigh. . . maybe next year. . .
