  1. I followed along with y'all on twitter when you were there. . and saw a story about this running on our local Spectrum News (looked for you in the background with no luck, but immediately recognized Angie in her green shirt when I saw the story come on) it's so cool that Disney is so forward thinking, and able to power TWO of the parks via solar. it's great that they are finding alternative energy uses! great report, and so neat to go behind the scenes.
  2. ^ thanks for that info. . really appreciate it. I'm considering the Platinum Flash Pass regardless, mainly because I don't want him to have to wait for me too long for the (many) things he can't/won't ride. . and if I do Flash Pass, can re-ride things I like without feeling bad that he's waiting. but will play by ear and purchase once there if any kind of crowd. in regards to the arch, I'm looking at a combo ticket thing offered thru the official site that has an hour "riverboat cruise" and a trip/tour of the arch. yeah, it's a touristy thing, and I'm sure the "cruise" is lame. .but we love crap like that. and it appears (at least during my initial research) that they assign you a time for the cruise and then what time to go up the Arch. so wouldn't get stuck waiting in lines.
  3. The selection at Grogan's isn't as extensive as the Brauhaus, but they improved it a few years ago. Grogan's is a nice place to relax, too (but it can get crowded at times). the Cider options they had there were fantastic. I'm not a big drinker, but I had a couple of the Ciders when there with TPR (and they were soooo good) pic Courtesy of Robb.
  4. ok..so we're planning our trip for June 7-10th. so we'll be doing Six Flags on either Sat 6/8 or Sun 6/9 probably a silly question, as I will almost always choose a Sunday (open till 9) to go rather than a Saturday (open till 10), but really wondering if we should go on Saturday, so that way if we want to go back to ride something again, or do a show (or something) on Sunday we can. Nick won't / can't ride a lot of the stuff on Flash Pass, so likely I'll just spurge and get a solo platinum level one, regardless of which day we go (so he won't get stuck waiting too long for me).. and will just stand in line with him for the stuff he *will* ride, like the mine train or Pandemonium). whatever day we don't do SF, we'll do the Arch, and other stuff, but that won't take the whole day (looking at doing City Museum on the afternoon we come in, Fri, 6/7, since we'll have an early arrival so should be in hotel by Noon). what do y'all think?
  5. ^ don't miss the Rhine River cruise while there.. it's a nice 20 minute getaway (entrance is on the lake (on walkway between LNM (from front of park) & Carousel from German side).. . and offers some great views of Verbolten & Apollo from the boat.
  6. it's like year round Mardi Gras coaster. (maybe SW just bought the paint in bulk for Apollo at BGW, and had leftovers?)
  7. great pics Boldy & bill. glad you had such a great time. in my opinion, InvadR is a night time ride. it's good during the day (and the views of Le Scoot and Alpengeist are fantastic). . . but when we rode it at night during the 2018 TPR USA trip? It's so dark you can't see the track in the tunnel. . it was freaking insane, and would gladly wait in a longish line if that's what it took for an evening ride. I LOVED it at night, and iven
  8. LOL.. glad to see I'm not the only one who takes pics in BGT bathrooms (tho I took pics of the mosaics in the toilets by Montu). that Cookie Monster shirt is awesome. . I totally would have picked that up! great pics, and congrats on the kiddo graduating to big-boy coasters - including 1st UpsideDown! Scorpion is a great one for the first time. Did you get to ride Falcon's Fury? I paused for a moment at the $25 parking. what??? That's nuts (and Six Flags price gouging level). . .I don't recall us paying for parking at all when we went to BGT a couple of years ago. Hmm. . wonder if it was included in our 4 day passes? (that also included a day at SWO).
  9. Knoebel's Busch Gardens Williamsburg Cedar Point are must do's - as are these parks still on my bucket list: Dollywood King's Island (for the Beast) Six Flags Magic Mountain and very good, and well worth the trip: Busch Gardens Tampa Disney Parks (of course) Six Flags Fiesta Texas Six Flags Over Texas Six Flags Over Georgia King's Dominion Carrowinds
  10. thanks for that non-spoilery review, Robb. one thing I am wondering.. are there any "deaths that stick" coming out of this? or does it all wrap up in a nice bow? (not asking for specific spoil. . just wondering)
  11. this report continues to be fantastic. thanks for sharing it, as I'm often coming back and re-looking at the pics!
  12. agreed with you that the throwback shirts are amazing. nice pics.. . and looks like y'all had a very pleasant rental space for a week or so. I'm LIVING for this woman in the lower left tho. . . you can read her mind: WHO ARE YOU AND WHY ARE YOU TAKING MY PICTURE???? LOL
  13. SFFT (again) this Sat -- with my Spouse! (he knows I need a day away from my laptop, since work has been *nuts*). hoping that even tho should be a gorgeous day, the park will be slow due to many of the target audience being at the movies to see "Avengers: Endgame" regardless, we'll get lunch and at least ride the carousel .. and see what's up with Joker, Hustler rehab, and ChopSix.
  14. really nice pictures, and great reading. Thanks for sharing. (and yes, it does look very wet. . .LOL)
  15. My biggest regret from Philly is that we didn't get to do the prison tour there, as I love that kind of stuff. .and as you note, it's very interesting stuff. fair enough on your disclaimer, I misread your intention, and will edit my above comment. my apologies.
  16. "Disclaimer! You need a sense of humor to view our site, if you don't have a sense of humor, or are easily offended, please turn back now!"- TPR on the bottom of every page from Terms of Service post - stickied to the top of the forum: 3. Objectionable material will be deleted! This goes for any photos, files, posts, etc that include obscene gestures, offensive language, etc. Basically keep it clean, or, keep it "PG-13."
  17. what the heck is that behind the Rhino? ?? Is that supposed to be a Hippo? Looks like a Bloom County Basselope. . . LOL
  18. that prison museum is super interesting, and added to our list for when we eventually make the trip to Dollywood. really nice pics, and great report -- even the mini-golf with minimal theming looks fun, that "train" is charming Edited to remove remainder of post, as I misinterpreted the intent of what I was responding to.
  19. stayed on track, even with a large Passover meal on Friday night at the Seder (yes, including deserts). but I kept up with my daily walking, and weighed in today at 208. so down 10lbs total in 3 weeks.
  20. it has so many pops of air for such a small coaster. looks hella fun!
  21. Six Flags Fiesta Texas not theming "Pirates of the Deep Sea" to Slutty Morgan seems like SUCH a missed opportunity now. great report
  22. ^ "Avatar" falls into category: "I don't give a crap about". . BUT. . . also wrapped filming (today, I believe): "Godzilla vs Kong" yep, filming wrapped a month before "Godzilla: King of Monsters" even opens. GvK has a great cast, and I'm sure it will take them a while to get the FX work done. . but wowed they already finished the filming.
  23. ^ wow. . that is quite a bit of room in the backstage area. thanks for sharing that pic!
  24. Negative. It's taking up backstage space. that's GREAT news, thanks!
