  1. Last I heard Metro isn't coming back and at the same time there are no plans to remove it. Metro is going to be a difficult ride to remove if the park eventually decides that it wants to take it out. I wish they would get it (or anything to replace it) running again. The park is missing transportation style rides, which while boring, are important parts of the park.
  2. This sounds like something that the park should look into. I would have taken the time to go to guest relations after that and make a complaint. I'm sure that making your wife stay on that side of the gate is not only dangerous for her, but it is going to put the park at risk of increased liability. I'm sure that this is against park policies, and is something they would take seriously.
  3. I always liked the effects in the Batman station, who would think that without proper upkeep it would manage to lose the blighted look! I can't remember the last time I saw the park have fog in those trenches, however I'm not a big fan of Batman, so I seldom find myself on that coaster.
  4. ^I'd be tempted to join in on that one!
  5. Not just this one post, but all the other people who have been comparing TTD and Maverick despite not having ever actually been on the ride.
  6. Many rides have fog without tunnels (Batman trenchs), and we don't know what the fire effect is going to be yet so it's hard to say it will be implemented.
  7. As an interesting side note (as I'm sure some of you know) the employee cafeteria has retained the Oasis name. A sit down restaurant would be a nice and very welcome addition to the park. I used to (not sure if it is still the case) always tell people to go to Mooseburger for lunch, because it is the same food as everywhere else in the park, for the same prices, except you get free refills on your drinks.
  8. Ok well I'm not vegetarian, however I don't much waste my time worrying about people who are. However I think the question about where the hate from can be answered by saying that some people are just jerks. There was a vegan girl in a class I took while at UCLA. Every week or so this girl would walk around with a petition to make UCLA the first and only vegan campus in America (she wanted all meat and dairy gone from all campus locations). Well I enjoy meat so I simply decided not to sign, as is generally the choice you have in a petition. I guess this girl didn't get enough signatures, so the next day she personally walks up to each and every person she could before class, and asks, "Will you sign my petition to make UCLA a vegan campus," again I say no thanks, to which she response with "why?" I was taken aback and said because I'm not vegan, again she asks why? I told her (now getting annoyed) that I enjoy eating meat, she proceeds to shake her head and say "you murderer." This story repeated itself once every few weeks for the remainder of the semester. So as I said, it basically comes down to some people just being jerks.
  9. I've people around here (Lubbock, TX) talk about the 3.3 that rattled the area two years back. Personally I smile a little bit when there is a quake that size, and people who have never felt on over react. The classic is always when they say, "I thought my house was going to fall down." I grew up in Southern California so I'm very used to earthquakes. We lost out home in the 1994 Northridge quake, and since then a 3.0 just doesn't really impress. To be fair however a 5.2 would be enough to get me out of bed!
  10. The one thing I will say about Sky Tower having a place to eat is the fact that it was designed with the intent to be a club, so in it's original plans, a restaurant was included... With that said, I'd be willing to say that there will never be a restaurant in Sky Tower.
  11. ^Actually for a long time Laughing Dragon (which, if still open, serves pizza) used to be called Four Winds (is that right) and was a steakhouse.
  12. Well I'll just throw it out there, what is GCSE? I looked it up on Google and seeing as how you're not from Wales or Ireland (in which case it would be the General Certificate of Secondary Education) I've got no idea what (or who) GCSE is.
  13. If you're a vegetarian just try to plan ahead a little bit better and be prepared. As others have said, Mooseburger has some veggie options. If that isn't what you're looking for, there really isn't any reason that you can't get your hand stamped and look for food outside of the park.
  14. I bought a Wii and a handful of things to go with it. I was planning on holding off for a while longer, but since it was the first time I've seen it on the shelf, I decided to grab one. Total retail value of purchase: Around $300
  15. I actually remember that SFMM ad! I love the part about the fastest lifts anywhere, I know what they were getting at, but still!
  16. That is a huge gain, glad to see the chain pulling out of the nose dive it has been in for the past few years.
  17. ^I grew up in Santa Clarita, and I assure you, it's not as exciting as you might think to see the park daily. If anything I would not want to live as close to the park as the Alvey's do, traffic over there can be a nightmare at times.
  18. You would jump on Jet Streamer from Magic Pagoda? That is a pretty large jump! Also I don't think there are many pictures of Magic Pagoda out there. When I had been running my site I had tried to acquire a picture of it, and was never able to find anybody with one.
  19. ^I saw the band play back in 2004, and had the chance to be backstage for a good part of the day. Those guys were always fighting and arguing with each other, I'm personally surprised they lasted as long as they did.
  20. Let's see the list of people I've meet (sorry if I spell some of these names wrong): Ashlee Simpson The American Idol judges (minus simon) High School Musical cast The guys from Blink 182 Fall Out Boy Chevelle Slash from Guns N' Roses Breaking Benjamin The Exies Theory of a Deadman Jack Osbourn Rob Blake Christina Applegate The cast of the OC The girl who plays Rory Gilmore, and her Mom. Rachel McAdams Hayden panettiere Carmen Electra Keanu Reeves Sully from Godsmack Rob Schnider Samual L. Jackson Orlando Bloom Gwen Stefani Pussycat Dolls And finally as discussed in the chat before, I had the honor of peeing next to (at separate times, but in the same bathroom): Ryan Seacrest and Ashton Kutcher. I've met several others who I honestly can't think of right now, so this is partial list. And if you're wondering I do have some connections, I didn't just run into all of these people on the street.
  21. When they ask you, "Where do you see yourself in the company in 10 years" don't answer "As a guest."
  22. ^You'll have to let us know how the Blu-Ray version is. I've stayed away from buying comedy movies in Blu because it doesn't make that much of a difference to me for the cost. However I really enjoyed this movie and with some positive reviews I think I'd go with the Blu-Ray over the DVD.
  23. That's interesting, I've got no idea how construction really works (other then some gory details of the bidding process) so that does come as a surprise to me. Learn something new everyday.
  24. ^^I wonder if Batman is even in good enough shape at this point for a rebuild. Rides don't tend to do all that good when they just sit around for years at a time.
