Things are so much different covering coasters now then back just a decade ago. There used to be so much more luck involved in getting early testing footage, I don't think I've ever seen people so upset that they didn't have shots from the very first test run. Going back to Deja Vu testing at SFMM it was incredibly sporadic initially. I remember that we knew it was running for almost three weeks before any of us managed to get a picture of it. I got lucky, I happened to be walking through the right part of the park at the right time and snapped some pictures. As it goes, SFMM has done a great job here in opening up how much access they're allowing to the ride.

I was taking my GoPro onto slides at Atlantis in the Bahama's last week with no problem. Got some fun footage, and didn't endanger any lives. Granted at Atlantis I'm pretty sure I could have taken a full size news camera on a ride and they wouldn't have stopped me.

Glad to see it is testing. Always a mix on how long it's going to take. Deja Vu had the track done for months before the first train cycled.

I still enjoy Viper. Plus it's a people eater, I would be surprised to see SFMM do anything with it in the near future.

I can't believe Ghostrider is that old!!! Ghostrider for the first 5 years of its life is still my favorite wooden coaster!

Southwest because they're an easy airline to change reservations with if it becomes necessary. If I can manage to make the timing and the location work, Virgin America is my favorite.

I completely agree. As much as everybody wants to see the park take a few years off of coasters and do general improvements and add flat rides, it's just not in the cards. The park makes their money by building thrill rides, and that's not going to change anytime soon. I think if SFMM is going to have a down year, I would expect something like a Sky Screamer to be added.

I would be stunned if the park made it to 2021 without a new coaster. History says a new coaster is coming in 2017.

That thing is going to have some ejector airtime. I can't wait to hear what people think of it!

What about booking one of the cheaper hotels at the resort? Both All-Star and Pop Century seemed pretty cheap when I was booking a room a few months back (I booked at Art of Animation).

I'm going to be making my first trip to the park next month, that trip report has me very excited.

Not to keep the wood subject alive, but I would be curious how much of the original structure does get replaced in one of these RMC projects. I'm sure a lot of the original structure (of which I guess I would also be curious how much wood on that coaster dated back to 1978 before RMC even touched the ride) is coming towards the end of it's usable life.

When I was younger I would often ride with sunglasses, and never once used a strap. Funny thing is that in all the years I did that, I only lost a single pair and that was on Flashback at SFMM. The train jerked forward which knocked them loose, and then went into one of it's dive turns and they flew off. Beyond that I never had a problem. Now today I wouldn't risk losing a pair of glasses so if I wore them on a ride it would be with a strap. That being said, I normally bypass sunglasses at parks.

To me it looks like the aspect ration is a bit off. It looks a bit squished up to me, which would make the hill steeper and shorter than it really is. look at the cars parked below. bit narrow Always keep in mind that an artist rendition is just that, it's not meant to be a completely accurate reproduction of a ride.

You will not be disappointed with Last Of Us. One of the best games I have ever played! I have been playing Dying Light and loving it (most of the time). It's like a cross between Fallout 3 and Assassin's Creed set to a zombie apocalypse theme. Soooo many zombies. No matter how hard I try, I'm just not getting into Dying Light.

How did you get into this? It's an unusual hobby, not one that I realized existed. Is there an internet community for people who collect glasses?

I'll bite... Do you wear these around when you go out, or is it just something that you collect?

I've got a Go Pro, and yeah when using the chest mount the thing isn't going anywhere. I'm not about to break Park rules because I don't care that much, but I'm 100% confident that a Go Pro with a chest mount is completely safe. I agree with Robb, items in pockets are far more likely to be a problem.
