  1. I've never been to Vegas but so many of my friends and family members love it there. My brother moved there last year and wants me to come visit so I'll do that in the next year or so. I really enjoyed reading your detailed experiences and all the pictures = AWESOME! Seriously fun report, great tips and places to try out when I'm there
  2. Last time I was up one of the keepers said they were going to move the cubs to Camp Aventura but didn't know when. Too bad they moved them already but at least there's still some cute animals in the cut-thru walkway. We're on our way from Morristown and will arrive a little after 5pm, grabbing a quick bite to eat then heading straight for the Safari. Mom loves Zumanjaro and we'll get some laps on Toro in the magic seat. Hope to see you this evening Satan or Metoman! - Liz
  3. I was thinking Safari closed at 4. What about the baby animals in the Seafari by Ka? Larry or Bill - any idea what time that closes? I'll be wearing sunglasses and my neon orange/pink plaid windbreaker again and mom has a bright green hoodie. If you see us say hi!!
  4. Is that Bailey the baby bear?! Can't believe how much cubs can grow in 4 short weeks!! Thanks for those pics Larry. We made it exit 7A just as storm clouds were rolling in and it started pouring shortly after. Stopped at McD's for some food and waited out the storm then drove over parking in Tweety 1 and walking in the park at 4:48pm. Nothing major was running yet so we went to Boldikus Mtn for 3 rides in a row in the back. My mom, a coaster freak, is a total cult convert! The first drop got more awesome each ride! No joke storm clouds Nitro was running by then and got a walk on last row followed by a 1 train wait for the front row. I'm not really a front seat person on coasters except accelerators and flyers but wow what a different experience!!! Loved it. Got some really cool pics with the clouds which I'm hoping to post from my ancient Crackberry. No promises they appear tonight, or ever. Mom wanted soft-serve as her dining pass snack & we talked while watching the rides go. The clouds were just unreal. I promise these are all unedited: Then the clouds suddenly parted and the glorious blue skies welcomed the airtime chariot otherwise known as Nitro Soaring into the Heavens Train flying into the dog leg Storm clouds arrived again so we went to The Dark Knight for 3 consecutive rides while the rain did its thing. Walked down the exit ramp and the sun was shining brightly yet rain was coming down in buckets. Really cool lighting of Nitro yet again: Angels singing I've never been on Houdini's Great Escape and decided today was the day. It was... Odd. Good thing I looked up how it works & what to expect or else ibe dizzy and sick. Once and done, guess I'm not a Vekoma Madhouse fan. Walked out to see Superman testing and got a walk-on ride for row 3, then 2nd ride changed to row 2. Got a double ride on the parachutes and saw Ka launching trains so went over there but they didn't have the queue open. At this point my heart started beating fast as I heard the music to all enthusiast's ears, otherwise known as El Toro's upstop wheels engaging over the hills. Complete walk-on over there!! Had a ride in the magic seat, then someone was in my row (jerkface) so hopped in the front row of the last car. Decided wheel seats are for losers and jumped up 2 rows to the middle row of the 2nd to last car. Finally went back to the then-open magic seat after what appeared to be a massive protein spill several cars up. Toro was really flying in the rain. Nice to finally meet you El Toro Ryan!!! Says the girl in a bright orange/pink windbreaker & sunglasses My meetings will be over by 2:30pm tom/Wed so we'll hit the park about 4pm again on our way back down to DC. I really need to see the animals some more and mom's never been on the safari. I forget what time Safari closes but we'll be back in a month if the timing doesn't work out. Plus we want to get a few more spins on Toro and we'd like to do Zum. In exactly 3 hours today we got on more rides than we've done using Flash Pass. And had a leisurely walk around the entire park! Ride total, in order: Boldikus Mountain: 3x Nitro: 2x TDK: 3x Houdini: 1x Superman: 2x Parachutes: 2x El Toro: 4x
  5. Nice TR! I had no idea SFOG was so beautiful and had so many trees. Reminds me a little bit of BGW which indeed is gorgeous but in a different way, more with flowers and such. Enjoyed all the details and pics you included.
  6. Love those pics and videos posted - thank you!!! Looks awesome, can't wait to get down there for the first time ever later this summer
  7. ^Starting them young is the best way to do it! You got a lot done and I bet those kiddos slept well after. I'm going to be in the area tomorrow and we're supposed to go to the park but the forecast is thunderstorms all day. Considering a similar thing happened a couple weeks ago and they closed the park within a few hours of opening it's not looking so good for us
  8. Just saw the latest video from Jack. Robb, thank you for posting it! A couple weeks ago he was in such critical condition that we didn't know if or when he'd be able to talk. The rapid progress recent is incredible. Jack, you are such a fighter and an inspiration to everyone!
  9. ^LOL! Took the words right out of my mouth.
  10. CF's bikers are leaving? That show was incredible! It was like America's Got Talent but way better.
  11. Several pages late to the party - Count me in for a Skully bash, stupid paper hats and kazoos and all! A+ job by SFGAdv on the video last week poking fun at their rides. More, please!
  12. Seeing this update with the video brought a smile to my face! Keep it up Jack!! Continuing to keep the rest of his family and their friends in my thoughts as well since something like this takes an enormous toll on all involved. Thanks for the video, Robb!
  13. Nice TR! Seeing as KD is my home park, I don't typically take many pics when I'm there. It was neat to see the day through your eyes! You'd be wise to ride the log flume no matter the weather bc you barely get spritzed but more importantly, coasterbill will jump through the interweb and ban you from all parks if skipping flumes continues! Volcano is one of my favorite rides anywhere and I'm glad you took a spin on Avalanche too. Bonus points for touring Dinosaurs Alive! I love it and the setting is fantastic.
  14. WOOHOO thanks for posting this!! Looks great and I love the roar.
  15. Because some people actually like SLCs Some people also like poaching dolpins ^Well that got awkward in a hurry
  16. WTG KT on writing to Ellen! You never know - if nothing else, it shows how incredible she is to write a heartfelt letter like that. It's great to see the pic of Jack sitting up today! I grabbed one of the last castle prints - thanks Robb for the opportunity and it's great to be able to help Jack's fund as well.
  17. Did they have the VR running on Superman? Wild One and Superman are hands down the best rides in the park! Everyone is always so surprised Wild One packs a great punch since it's unassuming. Joker's Jinx has a fun launch and usually the best operations in the park. I wasn't planning on heading over there until the fall but hearing that Roar is running so well has me rethinking that... The park used to have, um, a seedier crowd and really was run down. (Putting that lightly!!) They've made a huge turnaround in appearances and workers the last 4-5 years and the type of visitors attending has improved with that. I definitely feel safe being there these days and their water park is awesome! Glad you had a great time
  18. Manhattan: Lombardi's Brooklyn: L&B Spumoni Gardens Staten Island: Denino's I may or may not have planned a quick trip to NYC just so we could go to Lombardi's again. LMAO!!
  19. Never been to that park, how do you get to it when leaving GAdv? When exiting El Toro, the very first food joint on the corner on the right has the best milkshakes I've ever had in my life. Does anyone know if they sell those exact shakes elsewhere in the park? They don't taste the same as Johnny Rocket's. I'm not an ice cream freak but seriously that chocolate milkshake changed my life.
  20. That's what I thought too!! WTG Bill, we almost made a similar side trip there on Thursday. We went Wednesday on our way up from DC to NJ and had a fantastical day. Took a bunch of pics too, if I ever have more than 10 minutes to sit down and load them to my computer I'll post them. Anyway on Thursday on our way home we found ourselves at 7A around 6:45pm. Looked at each other, thought about it, tried to summon our inner Garbles but then realized the 3+ hour drive home after would be too much with having to be at work at 5:30am the next day.
  21. Continuing to send healing vibes to Jack and his family and friends. My family went thru a devastating medical event during the holidays, somehow everything turned out all ok but it was touch and go for several weeks. Keep fighting, Jack! Thanks Robb for posting updates from the page so we can see them.
  22. Nice TR, I always love seeing parks in other countries! Thanks for posting.
  23. I haven't been on Laff Trakk yet. Can anyone give me a visual for where a 30 minute or less wait time would be? I know on all the other rides about how long it'll take from just eyeballing the queue.
