  1. Put your hands in the air like you just don't care Camera 3 is in my favorite position today! Lots of rides in view. All I need is a front row ride on TTD in the morning followed by all day laps on Millennium Force, Skyhawk and Maverick and I'm a happy person. Hitting up the rest of the park is a bonus
  2. I've never been to Lake Compound or SFNE so this is a fun read! It's great you could get some coastering in while on a work trip.
  3. Disney continues to impress me and this is no exception. The place looks fantastic! I love the whole look of it and the peaceful spring adds a lot to the experience. Robb or Elissa - Let's get straight to business. How do the cupcakes at Sprinkles compare to Molly's in NYC?? That's what I really want to know! Having never been to Japan, can you tell me a little about UniQlo? Why do you like it so much, what all do they sell, and is there a store in the US is similar to it? Thanks!
  4. Super excited about the Beauty and the Beast trackless dark ride!!!
  5. ^LOL! Good one! Picturing this coaster supposedly going 90mph at the bottom of the hill or otherwise seems outrageously fast. That's I-305 speeds except a much smaller hill. Either way it'll never open which is why I'm planning my first every DW trip in July... so it doesn't matter. Agree with Jizzman - unless it's Storm Runner, TTD or the like, I much prefer regular chain lifts where it builds suspense and I can take in the views.
  6. ^ Rollback, lucky!! At SFGAdv a couple weeks ago I was just a couple trains away from getting a rollback on Kingda Ka. One of these days I'll get one...
  7. Nice! Last year I tried to do the same thing and was told it was impossible to do. Maybe my strong but fairly-written response to that situation had enough of a pull that they decided to reconsider their stance this year. If it falls through, let me know and I can get whatever you need in the beginning of July when I go.
  8. YEAH!!!!!!!! Best news ever, I love the soft restraints! Minimal bruises with hands up!
  9. Thanks very much for that! Much easier to watch. Your analysis of POTC was excellent and explained things very well. I actually went to lunch with someone today and was talking all about SDL, how cool the POVs and pictures looked, but how they did half the stuff in POTC I didn't have a clue. Came home and logged onto TPR and saw your video. A+ job!!!
  10. Been watching the cams a lot today. Dragster is launching 3 trains consistently and quickly! Getting really pumped since this week we booked our stay and my best friend is coming with her husband for the first time too! Trying out Hotel Breakers this time. Has anyone been inside the dog kennel on property? Are there pics online somewhere? I'd like to see Valravn's holding brake actually engage and hold the train for a bit longer rather than slowly easing it over the edge. Do any of the CP employees here know anything about if they plan to add a pause to the hold in the future? Griffon really dangles you up there which I like.
  11. Watching the footage it was almost unbelievable to watch the ride dismantle and crash like that! Surprised more weren't killed in that awful and avoidable situation. Thoughts with all the family members and friends, guests, and others who saw this.
  12. You guys accomplished a heck of a lot for your first day. Count me in as another pizza delivery disbeliever! Kudos to the driver for perseverence. Also, I never would have thought to order a pizza LOL. We ended both our days last year at TGI Friday's but I'll definitely do pizza one of our nights next month. Dragster is incredible and so much better that Kingda Ka but it's unreliable. However, that's the nature of the beast and in some ways makes it even more exciting when you make it on!
  13. In the words of Borat... WAWAWEEWA! After viewing the videos of Tron, Peter Pan and Pirates I am seriously impressed!!! Here's to hoping that Avatar's boat ride utilizes the same immersive and incredible system and they do something great with Star Wars too. Looking forward to more videos, pictures, TRs as people get to SDL!
  14. Last year was my first time back to CP since my visit in 2000 when Millennium Force opened. I wasn't worried that I wouldn't like it, but after 15 years would it show its age?? Maybe it wouldn't be as thrilling now that I'm older and have ridden so many big coasters? NO WAY! It was just as badass as I remembered!!! Glad the same was true for you, too! Looking forward to the next installment.
  15. I have wrap-around sunglasses and wear the straps always. BF has wrap-arounds and has lost them before on coasters both wearing them without straps and by putting them in a non-zippered pocket. When in line or walking around I loosen the straps and when I sit down for the ride I tighten them up. No biggie and I never worry that I may lose my glasses! Definitely go for them. ETA - I tighten them for any ride purely out of habit so I don't get lazy and make a mistake. I've been on a few rides that look tame and/or don't have loops and such and was glad for the security of the straps.
  16. Maybe a big tree and a couple benches? Much needed!
  17. Great pics! The amount of people that showed up is incredible, good for CP that this is such a hit already. What are the silver things on the ground in your pic that you mentioned Disney has as well? I'm not familiar with them.
  18. Jack's recovery is nothing short of miraculous!! He'll bulldoze through in-patient PT and once he gets home he'll improve by leaps and bounds. Still a very long road ahead with a lot of changes and struggles for everyone in the family, no doubt about it, but he's making great strides. WTG Jack
  19. These photos are incredible! Love the Valravn ice sculpture and the different lighting they have on it, the angles you played with, other coasters in the pics. Really nice work. You clearly have an eye for what to capture. I'm curious what sort of photo editing is involved in pics like these? Do you do much or not really? The coloring and clarity is outstanding in every one, but not overly photoshopped. I'd love to learn more!
  20. Fantastical pictures, especially the station in the early morning hours. I'll be down there in a little under 2 months and can't wait to ride!
  21. Your day at BGW brings a whole new meaning to "The park was DEAD!" I can't even believe they kept it open, holy smokes! Glad you had an awesome time and I'd kill for one of those BBW shirts!!
  22. Skipping in here to say... there's a train at SFA? Since when?
  23. I bet it does. I'll try shotgunning a few Red Bulls next time I'm in line for Gatekeeper so that I'm not in SWS/Stage-3 sleep by the time we reach the big hill. Maybe you should just give Gatekeeper a few Redbulls. The Redbulls would give Gatekeeper wings, and then it could fly through the course. These 2 replies got me good!
  24. Cool little TR! I've only ever been on 2 cruises so something like this would be really different. Thanks for posting! Are you going to put together a TR for the rest of your trip??
  25. Drop Zone is one of the best drop towers out there, too bad you're not a fan of them. Avalanche is a fun little ride and Woodstock Express rules! Backlot Stunt Coaster is in desperate need of a lot of TLC but it's still fun. Glad you got to visit the park and am interested to see how your visit to BGW was. The two parks are very different! Curious - where did you hear that I305 has airtime? It's definitely not an airtime machine... maybe you mean Fury325 at Carowinds? I305 is about speed, speed, speed, quick transitions and trying to break the sound barrier. I'm a once and done each visit on it as whipping right and left takes a toll on me. Volcano's where it's at!! Amirite?!?!
