  1. Wildfire has been the coaster talked about for what seems like ages and finally has come to life! It's super looking and I bet it'll give a heck of a ride. I really like the little turn around after the lift, reminds me of Great Bear at HersheyPark. Looks small but helps build momentum for the first drop. WTG to everyone involved!!
  2. Where do you like to sit? I'm typically a last row kinda gal myself unless I'm on Ka or TTD, but take suggestions into account for new rides.
  3. Adding to the chorus... Skully: last row, hands up, and you're welcome!
  4. I'm with you with my first visit coming up the end of next month. Interested to hear your review of things but will still keep my expectations in check!
  5. Vote submitted - Desktop user here, all the way! I have a crappy old phone that can barely use the internet and doesn't play videos.
  6. Following along on your report! Love your enthusiasm and pictures. Last year was my first time to CP since Millennium Force was built and we had an absolute blast, in fact we're making the journey back in less than a month for some more fun!
  7. Space Mountain is badass! The last time I was at MK they were still doing actual tickets for FP. Technology baffles me so using frustrating apps for Fast Passes wouldn't work out well on my end and once every decade is often enough for me to visit. Animal Kingdom is my favorite Disney park and you'd love it too for all the animals and Expedition Everest! However, I haven't been to BGT so I can't compare that to AK and Off-Road Safari at SFGAdv. Bring it on, Shamu!
  8. 1.5 days in the park will leave you with plenty of time to do everything. It's a small park with relatively slow operations on all rides except Joker's Jinx, which I freaking love. Wild One is a masterpiece as already said above and Superman is my personal favorite in the park. Batwing will try to kill you so don't say I didn't warn you... Have fun and report back!
  9. Coasterkyle those pics are spectacular!! Thanks for sharing for those of us who barely know what Instagram is and don't use it.
  10. I'll try to get the pics up of Bailey and some of the other animals but no promises. Here I am with my new buddy Conan and keeper Ashley. I cannot for the life of me remember the other giraffe's name!!! Does anyone know? There were 4 of them at the feeding station: Conan, ?, Taco and Mariah. It's driving me crazy. Even though I have a horse it was still really fun to meet giraffes face to face! Seriously, bring a wetsuit and fins because you'll need it. I rode with my sneakers up on the bench for hills 2 and 3 and even that didn't help. The log troughs were filled up almost to the top and they must have had the current turned up to freaking 11 because we were flying. I usually support things turned up to 11 but not in this case. We aren't whales by any stretch of the imagination and were paired up with a skinny dad and his young daughter who I talked about the safari to for the entire ride, lol. Unless it was a boat of small children I don't think we could have been much lighter. They were having logs go out with 3-5 people in them which I normally hate but actually supported in this case because they had so few logs running. The queue was barely full compared to how it can get in the summer and it took freaking forever to get on the ride. Normally we have 3 people in our group when we go up to GAdv and get to ride just us. This photo doesn't even begin to show how drenched we got, with me taking more of it since I was in the front. My whole upper and lower body were soaked like I jumped in a swimming pool. The only reason my pants are dry in a few spots is because of how I had my legs up and tucked like an armadillo for the drops. I went to the bathroom after, took off my shirt and was able to wring it - and my fanny pack - out like people do after rapids rides. I prefer not to wear clothes that drip as much as a school janitor's mop. Mom, always a positive thinker, still thought it was a bright idea to ride it especially bc we were so hot before. My expression and hand gesture is not in any way exaggerated. In fact, the man taking our photo asked me to lighten up a little. Lieutenant Dan would have keeled over at how wet my shoes and socks were! F-U Falls
  11. Missed the replies to my recent questions. Glad to know Molly's Cupcakes are superior! I love them. Georgetown Cupcakes taste like cardboard in comparison to Molly's. Thanks everyone for the info on Uniqlo! Old Navy and Walmart stuff sucks and falls apart in 2 washes so a clothing company that actually cares about quality without skyrocketing the prices is my kinda store.
  12. One of these days I'll learn not to browse TPR when I'm hungry...! I can't believe how different the place looks. Last time I was in FL we ate at Planet Hollywood because it was one of the few places we could get in to eat and would suit my picky eater habits. I can definitely find a few things on the new restaurant menus to eat now, though! Great pics and details. Very, very impressed with everything. Great TR as always!
  13. Oh believe me, when I visit a park I always make the flume a priority. I just know that most people have terrible taste and won't listen to me anyway. Lol I can't help people that won't help themselves. I was at the park Monday evening for less than 90 minutes and got on: Joker - 2x, one purple and one green. Purple was fun and didn't flip much. We flipped like crazy on the green side and then I threw in the towel. Harley Quinn's crazy train - 1x Nitro - 1x Sky Ride El Toro - 3x Went back yesterday/Tuesday for several hours and the place was slammed with school kids and slow operations. Hit the safari first - can't stress enough how AMAZING the safari is!!! I took unbelievable photos and had the best safari trip yet with very active animals but don't have them on my computer yet. Bailey the baby bear cub is getting huge and she was putting on quite a show for us. I fed the giraffes and felt it was well worth the $5 for passholders. Our safari guide Natasha was phenomenal and her enthusiasm and knowledge base was out of this world! After the safari we were sweating bullets. "Let's ride the log flume!" Waited 45 minutes to get on it and while we were loading our log I saw a few people unloading who looked pretty wet. Stupid school kids splashing themselves, surely! Except they were seriously soaked so that was concerning. As we crested the first hill the attendant was waving wildly and laughed, "Are you guys ready to get WET!!!!???!?" Uhh, wait what? Log flumes are for spritzing only! Right?!? The water was higher than I've ever seen it and I almost thought our log might bounce right out of the trough. Before we even got to the big hill we were saturated like drowned rats. Tidal Force at HersheyPark produces less splash than Sawmill F-U Rapids did yesterday. As a log flume enthusiast and also someone who can't tolerate wet socks/shoes, this put quite a damper on my night and 2 hours later I was still squishing around the park. Used my dining pass for chicken fingers and a milkshake by Toro, then ended the day with 3 magic seat rides on Toro (Ryan and his crew were doing a great job as usual!) and drove back home to DC. TL;DR: Joker is ok, Safari is mandatory, Log flume 2016 will try to kill you.
  14. Thanks everyone for the excellent detailed replies! I really appreciate it. Oh and +1 for the phallic paint photo
  15. Last year I stayed at Sandcastle Suites and entered both days thru the Soak City entrance and it was dead over there. This year we're staying at Breakers. Is there an easy way to get to the Soak City entrance from Breakers for early entrance, without having to take that beach path allllll the way around to Sandcastle? Honestly I didn't pay much attention last year to other entrances. Can you tell me specifically, or on a Paint-drawn map, where the Resort Entrance and Beach Entrance are? On the CP website map it doesn't say. I know there's an entrance at Windseeker - which entrance is that? We like to go to TTD/Mav/MF first. Thanks!
  16. Great report! Loved all your details, ratings, and pics. I don't have the patience to sort thru pics on my phone, sit down to type everything up and then upload pics so I really appreciate people who make the effort to do that! I know it takes a bit of time to do, especially when you're writing as detailed as you are. Thanks for posting and I hope to read more of your TRs in the future! This summer will be my first time to Carowinds and Dollywood so it's super helpful to read a completely different opinion on the parks (especially DW) than I normally hear. After completing your TR, I think I may have overhyped DW for my boyfriend so will work on tempering his expectations for our upcoming visit. We were in Charlotte a couple months ago and drove over to Carowinds to gawk at Fury and drive around the park taking pics. It was really neat to be driving down the highway and see the park straight ahead! Similar to Cedar Point but, well, about 100x less awesome haha.
  17. Now that's a good looking train! Great details, styling, and color choices.
  18. Boldikus that's one f'ed up day at the park! I'm very careful with who I invite to things because I hate getting in situations like yours, where they claim they're up for anything but quickly it's clear they're not. Cue them getting sick, being over-faced, scared for their life, what have you. And then it gets weird! Too bad your friend had the day from hell and ended up with a busted car.
  19. Happy to hear it. Backlot's a fun, zippy little thing and having the effects working add to the experience for sure.
  20. I love Nitro and from Onionbelt's review it sounds like Mako is a step up from that!
  21. They probably just stopped it because some a**hole has his phone out. JK LOL! Love you guys Ryan thanks for giving us some insight on El Toro and its trains/lift/maintenance. It's cool to learn the inside scoop.
  22. ^ How awesome!! A fun mommy/daughter day AND the start of a long love of coasters for her! I remember finally being tall enough to ride certain coasters when I was little and it truly did feel like the best day of my life.
  23. Yay, TR from Coasterbill! I fully support this and encourage more behavior of this sort. I don't get down to FL often (once every decade it seems) but the next time I go I'm definitely telling Disney to talk to the hand and going over the Sea World and BGT instead. How long did it take you to get from Orlando to BGT?
  24. Echoing all the others - Black Widow is FAR better than MaxAir. I went to Kennywood in June of last year and rode it for the first time. My friend and I had almost an out of body experience on it, the intensity cannot be accurately described. I get super sick and dizzy easily but this didn't kill me like I was worried it might. Talked about it nonstop until SO and I went to CP a month later. "This is so great, this ride will change your life!!!" We rode MaxAir and were all "that's it?" Kings Dominion just got a similar ride but I'm not on here enough to know if it's manufactured by one of the same manufacturers as BW or Max. TLDR; Ride Black Widow and hold on for dear life on Phantom's Revenge. And by that I mean hands up all the way!
