Understand what you're saying and agree to an extent that they want to be careful, however safety for others on ride is a huge issue. Can't tell you how many times on El Toro I've almost gotten smacked in the head by phones being out, hats, you name it. I did get hit by a hat one time several years ago on a coaster and was able to grab it. Once in the station the guy saw I had it and thought it was hilarious - I read him the riot act and whacked him good and hard with it. I may be small but I'm mighty and I don't want to get a concussion because you think it's funny to turn your hat around front at the top of the lift. People get bent out of shape about taking pics from the ferris wheel or skyride yet use on actual dangerous rides are the new norm. Think not! -

^Regarding phones on lift hills and other idiotic things... Earlier this month in line for MF some asshat unbuckled their seatbelt as the train was leaving the station. The ride op caught it right as the train was passing by and they stopped the train about 1/2 way up the lift hill for 25 mins. Had several supervisors including one guy who looked like he was a former bouncer and wasn't messing around, plus and I think every security guard in the park and actual police people too. Eventually the train went and once back in the station the guy got questioned and taken away. Why people feel the need to pull out phones, mess with restraints, flip the bird for ride photos I'll never know. I wish they'd throw the book at these people. -

Great TR so far! I like the way you guys come up with a few important things to hit at each location and once you've done them, proceed at a relaxed pace for the rest of the day. I've tried to institute that same mentality recently and it's a work in progress LOL. You look incredible, by the way! Honestly I recognized Nick in the pictures when I first opened the TR and had to go back to look at your previous posts to make sure the other person was you! I've lost a lot of weight a few times in my life. The tricky part is staying consistent with weigh-ins so it doesn't creep back up on you. Congrats and keep it up! -

Is there a row you recommend for the most fun, and are there required defensive riding positions? I may have followed your advice on MS last month and may or may not have had a blast, so much so that possibly took several spins on it. -

^That's right! The tide can change quickly in this thread, especially when it comes to food. With only checking the thread every once in a while, Zach almost missed this crucial food moment It was at Granny Ogle's on the Craftsmans Trail. I would say it was pretty simple, chicken mixed with mayo and some spices that I can't quite figure out what they were... but it was excellent! It sounds amazing and I'll for sure check it out now that I know where it's located as well. I absolutely love simple chicken salad but would never in a million years have thought to get it at a theme park. Thanks to your post and others on here, I have a list in my phone of approved food offerings at DW for a persnickety eater such as myself! -

What date will they be revealing the new ride? Usually it's mid-August and I paged back a few days but didn't see it mentioned. -

Tell me more about the Chicken salad! Where did you get it and did it have a lot of added "stuff" in with it or was it pretty simple? -

Taron and Klugheim look absolutely incredible!!! I'm blown away!! Taron looks like the lovechild of Maverick and Expedition Everest. Multimuller, your pictures are fantastic. What camera are you using for them? Thanks to all for the details and descriptions of the entire area. Hope to some day get there myself to visit Phantasialand! -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
TBpony414 replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I looked up the different wristbands on Kennywood's website but didn't see exact clarification regarding wait times. If you get the VIP one like you did, do you enter through the exit ramp and get right on? If you get the Day Coaster Tour or Gold Coaster Tour bands, do you also get to walk right into the station or are the bands like Fast Lane at CP where you are in a separate, much smaller line? I've only been to Kennywood once and didn't know they sold fast passes. -
Yes and yes. If I turn my head too quickly walking down the street I get motion sick but can tolerate the frisbees quite well, surprisingly. Kennywood's frisbee is unbelievable. I swear it's an out of body experience and is in a completely different league than Delirium and MaXair! I'd love if SFGAdv or SFA got a Zamperla model.

Larry and anyone else - can you give a complete novice advice on how to snap flyers? Nobody I go to parks with knows anything about snapping and I really want to learn. I've watched videos but that doesn't really give me a step by step. Thanks! -

Congrats on getting on LR, mordecai-75!! Great story! I've waited in similar situations for coasters before and it's been worth it especially after many failed attempts. Can't wait to get on it someday myself, still hoping for the end of July! -

TBpony414 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love how Hershey markets their new attractions! A drop tower would be great but if they took out Flying Falcon I would personally be really sad. That's my favorite flat anywhere, in part because I grew up riding it over and over and over again. It's still a really fun ride and there aren't many like it. Actually, I've never encountered another one. Are there any operating condors in the US and if so where? Anytime I take new people to HP I always take them over to Flying Falcon and they go crazy. It's such a fun little ride! Maybe they'd relocate it to wherever and whatever it is they're supposedly doing with this park expansion Or more than likely it'd end up with BBW in the lost land of awesome but no longer living rides haha. -

Wow, what a great report! Like I commented on another poster's TR, as someone who will probably never get to this area of the world it's TRs like yours that allow me to experience these places. Count me in as another who's completely bewildered that they plopped down an old school Winnie the Pooh ride. I'm a huge Splash Mountain fan and maintain that every park anywhere in the world should have a long log flume like it. Would you say Roaring Rapids is as interesting as Splash Mountain theme-wise? Was the animatronic super awesome and impressive or more "that's huge but it doesn't add much to the experience"? -

I didn't even pay this guy to say that. I promise. I was just about to PM him and ask what kind of blackmail photos you're hiding because nobody in their right mind would say that about Mean Streak! I'll try the riding position and report back on how it goes, including a chiropractor bill if needed. Haha -
Fantastic report, thank you for the very detailed play by play from your entire visit!!! I may never travel there so it's reports like yours that I can live vicariously thru. The list of Good and Bad experiences there was great too and the part about not seeing anybody peeing on the flowers was great Regarding Adventurers Trail, is that a kids-only attraction? I've never ridden a motorcycle coaster so can you (or someone else) explain how you get in them and how the restraint works?

Awesome night POV on Valravn!! Thanks for posting! The front row leaning forward technique on Mean Streak coupled with it possibly closing this year has convinced me to ride it next month. Just how far forward does one need to lean, though? -

Flying Falcon!! It's a scrambler in the air. Really fun, love the colors on the birds and it's my favorite flat. I've not run into one at any other parks I've been to. Coal Cracker (log flume) and The Whip are also fun. Enjoy your day, it's a great park but remember to bring your sneakers for all the hills! -

I rode it in the back row of the first car last year and it was great! Well, I thought it was great but BF didn't tighten his seatbelt enough haha. Someone recently said something about riding it in the front row of the last car. Is this also another magic seat or are they making it up?
