  1. I'm planning to ride Full-Throttle, Coast Rider, & Undertow. Of the three, I'm most excited about Full-Throttle.
  2. I'm not old enough to remember the good ol' days for SFMM, though my father used to go to SFMM often in the 70s and early 80s and remembered when it was just Magic Mountain. He told me that back then, he preferred MM/SFMM over Disneyland and of how it was a FAMILY park not a thrill park.
  3. Legoland California tomorrow.
  4. That was Nov. 21. This is my updated Dec. 26 list: Definitely: Legoland California Knott's Berry Farm Six Flags Magic Mountain Most Likely: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk SeaWorld San Diego Likely: Castle Park Parks in italics are parks I have never been to.
  5. I don't see a ferris wheel coming anytime soon. Sky Tower does a great job providing views that would be much better than any ferris wheel. Also, SFMM doesn't seem to be interested in family rides anyways.
  6. ...and a Happy New Year!
  7. It's been sunny here in Southern California for the past few days. It was just windy today.
  8. It'll be like Groundhog Day.
  9. Add a lake for the snow coaster to go around, then you'll build the first Snowaquatrax!
  10. $75 cash $50 cash $100 cash Club TPR Membership (Yes, I'm finally joining the club very soon) Also, yesterday was the confirmation that I'm re-newing my Six Flags pass for 2013. So, I'm happy about getting my Full Throttle & Superman (SFDK) credit.
  11. I do agree that SFMM is always over-reacted on the terrible side. I'm re-newing my 2013 season pass at SFMM, so it will officially be my home park and I have already been to SFMM enough to know exactly what it is like. Full Throttle: Yes, I would love to have it longer, though it will probably become one of SFMM's best coasters. Ride Ops: The ride ops usually are decent, its just that the management allows low train operation. The LA Teenager Crowd: Yes, I don't like the crowd and I much prefer the crowd at Legoland, though the crowd never ruins my day at SFMM. SFMM is a really nice park, its just the management is on a shoe string budget which shows why they don't run a lot of trains and why a lot of their recent rides aren't very large investments. Once SFMM starts to make more of a profit, hopefully the park will change for the better. Though, I have to say that SFMM is the only Six Flags park where I could see such a gimmick called Full Throttle built.
  12. I had a post back in Oct. 19, but it needs some updating: 2012: +25 credits 2011: +8 credits 2010: +9 credits
  13. THIS!!!!!!! Seriously, I can't think of a better combination of two parks.
  14. I got my Giant Dipper (BP) credit yesterday, so I submitted my ballot: LOCATION FOLLOWS THIS LINE (LEAVE THIS LINE AS IS) ~"San Diego County, California" NAME FOLLOWS THIS LINE (LEAVE THIS LINE AS IS IN Ballot) ~"XYZ" RANK THE FOLLOWING RIDING SENSATIONS <-LEAVE THIS LINE AS IS Abrupt Airtime_____________________________,y,y,1 Floating Airtime___________________________,y,y,3 Lateral Forces_____________________________,y,y,6 Out of Control Feeling/Directional Changes_,y,y,2 Positive G's/Loops_________________________,y,y,5 Sensation of Speed_________________________,y,y,4 COASTER NAME PARK LOC <--Please leave this My Favorite Steel Anypark Anywhere **,y,y,1 Apocalypse S. 15. That building is the former IMAX Pictorium, though I doubt it will ever re-open as a ride ever again. I heard it was used for storage right now. Plus, a dark ride would be hard to fit in there.
  16. You should take Roar for a spin. Roar west is equipped with Millennium Flyer trains. I think Roar west was the first GCI to use those comfy trains. You're right, I forgot that West had Flyers from day 1. It's rough but still early GCI, so I'd say it's likely an exception. Older GCIs are rougher just because they are older (the ones that always had Flyers). If Apocalypse (SFMM) never gets re-tracked, it will have the same roughness as Roar West in 10 years. Heck, you even you can feel that Apocalypse is starting to become rough even after 3 years.
  17. There is no way all Arrow loops have the same shape and/or the same height. For instance, Demon (CGA)'s 2 loops have drastically different shapes that not only can be seen, but the first loop feels much different than the second loop while riding the Demon. Most Arrow loops have a similar shape and a similar short height, but they aren't the same.
  18. Personally, we like to grab the seats facing out toward Boomerang Bay. The seats right next to the exit are my favorite as the first half of the ride, you're low to the ground and when Delirium starts the full swings, you're facing upwards grabbing all that airtime.
  19. ? Is Gold rusher leaving or? Goldrusher is in Full Throttle's announcement video, so it isn't leaving (hopefully). A wild guess is they are using Goldrusher's track as a reference point for construction, but I'm no engineer so who knows.
  20. I think you did a really good job on Superman as it looks very realistic for RCT3 especially on the 2nd image.
  21. I completely agree with all this. I really can't see much remaining after the transformation including Dragon Coaster since when they redid Cypress they deemed Starliner out of their targeted age demographic and I can see the same thing here and them getting rid of it. But I could see them trying to keep some of the classics but while drastically changing them such as turning down the speed of Derby Racer and the whip. It will be interesting to see what they do with the boardwalk though as when I was there a few years ago it was very depressing and felt run down. The Dragon Coaster is the perfect coaster for a Legoland park. The ride is a forceless family coaster ever since they added the Morgan Trains (I'm not being a whiny enthusiast, it's really forceless and kids love it). As far as the Derby Racer and the Whip; the locals would never let them touch those rides and I don't think they would. Besides those rides...have at it. Many of the other rides are portable anyway. PS: The Boardwalk was destroyed by Sandy so it will be all new anyway. I can see Dragon Coaster easily converted into the Dragon, they can just re-do the tunnel, re-theme it to medieval times, and put a new color scheme on it.
  22. I know, I know. But face it, it's not Avaya or Citrix that is getting the headache, it's Prudential.
  23. One more day until we all die!
