Six Flags [FUN] Corporate Discussion Thread
XYZ replied to davidmorton's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Worst Customer Service?--- Depends by park. I'm sure parks are far worse Highest Parking fees--- And other parks charge more for admission Higher than Average food prices--- The theme park standard from what I've seen Ignoring families--- Bugs Bunny Boomtown, Thomas Town, Wiggles World, Bugs Bunny National Park, Need I go on? Horrible Ride Operations--- I've seen worse and read worse TR's that would make Superman at SFDK look like Goliath at SFOG Place to put goo--- Can't argue there Penny Squeezing gimmicks like tube rentals--- Cedar Fair does that too Cheap advertising--- Yeah, But have been reduced in recent years What a Six Flags apologist... Anyways, it's no secret that Six Flags is a low quality park chain. I just hope that this is some form of a wake up call and we will see some actual improvements to the parks (which I honestly doubt will happen). -

SFMM is in the desert? Honestly, if you enjoy SFMM a ton, I'd recommend going out more to check out better Six Flags parks. -

...or it could be not used at all. Anyone remember Stratosoar? -
Pandemonium's capacity is horrid. I remember the one at SFDK consistently having long lines since it had such low capacity, so I think this is something SFMM should not receive. I do agree that another family coaster with the intensity of Ninja would be a nice addition to the park. Ninja itself is still a popular ride even though it is one of the lesser intense of the SFMM coasters.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, it's a great park. The park has really nice atmosphere and a great selection of attractions. Also, the lines are short after 6:30pm. (Plus, it's Aquazone not Aqua Racer, thou shall not misspell such ride. ) -

I'm sure CGA greatly appreciates this leaking of confidential information. Common sense runs strong with you, my friend. -

I don't know about you, but it was pretty obvious to me that this is NOT the final layout: It looks like they just made the concept art for the buildings and they just quickly drew a coaster in, which is probably why it has a repeating, uninspiring layout. Plus, HHCP, the creator of the diagram, designs buildings not roller coasters. -

Sunday is quieter with crowds than Saturday. So, unless there is an event on Sunday, I'd go on Sunday. -
Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

Have fun with that 15 to 20 million dollar coaster that you dream of. Unfortunately, it's most likely to stay as a dream. -
To be honest, the whole idea about a "classic" side and a more intense Iron Horse side of Colossus doesn't make much sense. Not only would it look strange, the Iron Horse side would be much more popular since the target audience of SFMM cares more about intensity than nostalgia. I agree 100% that a 'classic' side and a 'new' side sounds dumb, but I wouldn't say that the SFMM crowd likes intensity. I mean, even here on TPR people are total babies when it comes to GL. Well, Iron Horse Colossus is not going to be a torture device like Green Lantern and I think it's pretty obvious that the Magic Mountain clientele wants fast, intense, loopty-loop coasters. If they really want intensity, then GL shouldn't have been neutered. Babies? The ride would be smoother if it rotated into the points of sudden force rather than continuously stayed upright due to balancing... You should know that Green Lantern is a horrible example to try to disprove my statement. If SFMM clientele did not like intensity, X2 would not be the one of the most popular rides in the park.

You do realize that Michigan's Adventure's invert is a relocated SLC. Just don't raise your expectations too high for Valleyfair since they will not be met. -

Well, CGA is a much larger park than Valleyfair and they haven't received a B&M since the 1990s when they had much more attendance. I think you are expecting way too much by expecting something like a small B&M to come to a small sized park like this. -

Based on all I've heard, it sounds like a done deal. Carowinds has grown a lot since Cedar Fair took over, so I do think they are large enough for one. I believe it's actually $30 million and not $50 million, but $30 million should still get them a really awesome coaster. While VF could be in for something awesome in a few years, I doubt that VF would receive a giga coaster because I just don't feel that CF would invest that much money in VF, and also, they can't build that high due to Flying Cloud Airport. A decent sized B&M invert, or maybe a floorless coaster would go over pretty well in my opinion. Considering that Valleyfair puts the "Fair" in Cedar Fair, I'm honestly surprised that VF has been getting mostly second-rate attractions for most of it's existence, and I can't put my finger on why exactly why that is. I want to say it's because the park is only open five-and-a-half months a year, but so is CP, and look at how successful they are. Still, since VF is slated for a big expansion, I'm excited for the future. You do realize that Valleyfair is one of the least attended Cedar Fair parks according to Fun Forward. So, it's not like they are in need of a massive B&M coaster. http://newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/2012/01/cedar-fair-is-looking-fun-forward.html -
Riddler's Revenge at SFMM has a massive queue line and exit line. (The exit line is long simply due to Freefall's former existence.)
