[RCT2] PROJECT IV: Riverview Park (NCSO)
XYZ replied to XYZ's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
...and that was just the beginning. UPDATE TWO: 1982 - 1986 1982: Birchwood Cyclone 1983: Plaza Grill & Vintage Carousel 1984: Garden Grove Boardwalk (that includes Paddleboats and Feast House) 1985: Evolution and relocation of Timber Spinner 1986: Forest Green Highway and expansion of Union Square IN THE NEXT UPDATE... See what is going to be built on this plot of land! Reply to this thread if you want to see more massive RCT2 NCSO updates WITH QUALITY that has no stupid backstory! -
When I rode Nitro last year, I probably rode Train C since it was rattling pretty badly. It wasn't really rattling, it was just this vibration throughout the whole ride and it detracted my enjoyment of the coaster due to it being extremely annoying and not because I was a wussy. This is coming from someone who still enjoys GhostRider (for you East Coasters who haven't been on it, it is very rough).

This year has just been a typical year for coaster closures So far, this year has just been the last year for SkyRider, Colossus, SFNE's Cyclone, Sea Viper, and Opa. In 2013, it was the last year for KK's Greezed Lightnin', White Canyon, SFM's Medusa, Rolling Thunder, Holiday Park's corkscrew coaster, and Adventure City's wild mouse. In 2012, it was the last year for Son of Beast, Rattler, Black Hole Express, Disaster Transport, Roller Soaker, and Speed (the chances of this re-opening is very low). (Please do not reply to this topic with "Hey, you forgot to mention this coaster closure!") -
1. Lines are longer on weekends (obviously). A good amount of schools are still in summer break during mid-August, so there will be lines, just nothing unbearable. 2. If I'm at the entrance at opening, I usually do Silver Bullet, Montezooma, and Jaguar first. Then, I go to the Boardwalk and do Supreme Scream, Xcelerator, and Coast Rider. GhostRider usually has its line go down later in the day. 3. GhostRider is still very rough. 4. My favorite place inside the park is Johnny Rocket's. You can buy Mrs. Knott's chicken in the Marketplace right outside the park, though I've never been that big of a fan of Knott's chicken. There's a TGI Friday's in the Marketplace and a Claim Jumper across the street.

What is your next park?

Holiday World on August 16th. Can't wait to get this park credit (plus the Voyage credit). -

A better question is: Why the heck does a 335-acre amusement park need to invest a ton of money into a parking garage? If they want to do upgrades to the entrance and Egypt, I'm sure they can do it without taking out a ton of parking spaces. -

Keep dreaming. Everyone hoped that Full Throttle would be a 6000' long terrain multi-launch coaster before it was announced and instead we got a short gimmicky coaster (at least the ride itself is really good). It's pretty apparent that SFMM and the Six Flags chain is building big, gimmicky rides without a large investment. There are a few exceptions to this, though it would be very unlikely that a long airtime-filled Mega Lite Blitz coaster would be built in the near future at SFMM. Oh really?

The chances of this happening are as great as your proposal to re-do Revolution. (aka very low) -

My wild guess would be Darien Lake, it could go in where 'Cuda Falls was! -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

GhostRider. It was a fun ride since I didn't get a headache on it this time. -

Go to SFMM. Then, you'll see the quality of CGA. Honestly, I have seen some very noticeable improvements to the park as a whole in the last few years. The park does deserve a great coaster and it got one: Gold Striker. -

The coaster is very beautiful, but you're right about the nets. But I can only really remember nets under the lift hill (for obvious reasons) ...or you can be like Tatsu (SFMM). No nets under the lift hill. YOLO! -

Gold Striker is so much dang fun in the front and back seats. Hopefully, it stays like this for the coming years. -
I do agree that the SFGAm operators did not handle the situation well. Though, blame should not necessarily be placed completely on the operators themselves as the leads and supervisors of the park should train the operators to handle these situations in a better manner, especially in something as common as a child that is too short to ride. Also, a crying child is a typical outcome from being denied to go on a ride due to their height.

My first ride on El Toro. I expected an amazing ride and I was so excited about it, I went on it first. Though, it was rather sluggish in the April morning, so it was a big letdown for me. Though, I enjoyed much more later in the day, so it barely makes my #1 spot right now. -

I don't know if they still do this, but many rides in the back of the park have a delayed opening and open an hour or two after the park's opening. Gold Striker is by far the most re-ridable ride at CGA and don't forget to go on Flying Eagles and the other flats at CGA. -

Hello inhabitants of TPR, I'm going on an amazing trip to the Midwest to check out a ton of parks there and I would like to see some suggestions from the locals of the area to help me out. So far this is the itinerary: -------------- FRI 8/15: Fly into Indianapolis (Overnight in Louisville) SAT 8/16: Holiday World (Overnight in Louisville) SUN 8/17: Kentucky Kingdom (Overnight in Cincinnati) MON 8/18: Kings Island (Overnight in Mansfield) TUE 8/19: Cedar Point (Overnight in Sandusky) WED 8/20: Cedar Point (Overnight in Sandusky) THU 8/21: Waldameer/Conneaut (Overnight in Sandusky) FRI 8/22: Buffer day (Overnight in Indianapolis?) SAT 8/23: Fly back home from Indianapolis ------------- The buffer day is a free day where if there is a day of bad weather, I am able to delay going to the parks for a day and if the week is all good weather, I might be able to do an extra park (perhaps Indiana Beach or Kennywood) So, people who have experienced these parks, what are some things I should know when going on this trip? (Also, I will be posting the photo trip reports of each of these parks in this thread after I go on this trip.)

Exactly! People have unrealistic expectations for MM, I said this a while back on this very thread and was told I didn't know enough about parks and I was making excuses for MM I know, f^$# me, right? How dare I expect a clean park that knows how to operate their rides while treating their guests with some decency? More or less, this is what some parks (like SFMM) are saying. My point wasn't that they shouldn't care about that. It was more that people are constantly complaining about things that SFMM is probably never going to change. So as long as you realize what you're going to get, you'll have a more positive experience because they do have a number of above average roller coasters. I've only been to that park 10 times or so, but I've always had a lot of fun and I'm excited for my trip there next week. So, I should expect terrible operations, inedible overpriced food, horrible customer service, and poorly maintained rides in order to have a great day? Jeez, this is why I don't go to SFMM anymore and rather spend my money at Knott's and SeaWorld.
