  1. I never been on a Vekoma corkscrew before as there really aren't any Vekoma corkscrews here in CA (correct me if I'm wrong), though I have been on both Arrow & B&M corkscrews. They really are different and good in both ways. The Arrow corkscrew has the nice slow moving sensation and you feel like flying, especially on the double corkscrew. The B&M corkscrew is nice of how it manuevers in the 4-abreast seating as the outer seats is like you're being flung over. I slightly prefer the B&M corkscrew, but the Arrow/Vekoma corkscrew is still really nice and I don't think you're insane in thinking that it is better than the B&M corkscrew.
  2. That San Lorenzo River is ALWAYS a problem. They really need to pipe it at the end like what they did with the river in Capitola. The good news is the park looks nice with the water up close to it. It's like Paradise Pier now.
  3. How can you like an SLC over just say Medusa (SFDK), a clearly superior coaster. It really makes no sense. Though, sometimes I like riding Kong just for the fun of it.
  4. This would be really sad news for Spain as this seems to be one of the best parks in the country. Though, I doubt it will close as a train line won't cause a park to shut down.
  5. Last October was the first time I went to SFDK for 7 years, though I was with my dad who knew how to navigate the park well and I learned the layout after 2 visits.
  6. After watching the Battlestar Galactica POV from TPR (amazing POV by the way), I found it odd that the Human side has no inversions while Cylon has 5 inversions. I know you don't need inversions to make it a good ride, but it's really weird when one side has so many inversions while the other has none.
  7. I asked some of my friends what their favorite ride in SFDK is and it was suprisingly Kong. It really makes no sense.
  8. I'm going to SFDK on March 31. It's too busy on opening weekend. Plus, I already went to SFDK in 2012. (Jan. 1)
  9. According to the new park map, Pandemonium's enterance/exit will be re-used as well as Zonga's station. ^Citigraph is the designer of CGA's map as well as the old SFDK map. Don't believe me, go here where the maps are VERY similar: http://citigraph.com/
  10. I second that. That is an awesome background!
  11. ^That's what he looks like in real life.
  12. I know you were exaggerating, but even CGA doesn't have one. I'm actually looking forward to riding my first Boomerang. Just sayin'... CGA had Invertigo. Since Invertigo is similar to the Boomerang, it kind of counts.
  13. ^That question makes no sense. Do you think that the previous post's question makes sense?
  14. Invertigo (R.I.P.)
  15. ^I never noticed that big dirt pile behind Splash Battle. Is that something recently done?
  16. I'm against Backwards Freeze, when you're facing forward and moving to the left/right and you see the launch tunnel and when you're launched the lights pass you making it seem faster, if you turn the train backwards, that whole experience would be destroyed. Also, don't get me started on Premier OTSRs.
  17. When there are 7 identical Batman The Rides, 3 identical Superman: Ultimate Flights, 4 identical Sky Screamers, & 5 identical Mind Erasers, you have to give the GP a break.
  18. Well, if they could do it quick enough, I guess it can be done in 2 months. Though, that will be the fastest time a coaster this large was constructed. Also, SFDK finally removed Pandemonium from their rides list: http://www.sixflags.com/discoveryKingdom/rides/ThrillRides.aspx
  19. It could be where the drop tower goes that enthusiasts rumored for years about.
  20. It seems that it took so long to build Superman to make those squares in the concrete. Well, that answered my question on how they would do the footers. I know it would take a long time, but demolishing that whole concrete slab and replacing it with grass would be better.
  21. ^That means Shambhala is the longest B&M Hyper ever built (excluding Leviathan, if you include it).
  22. It's good they did update it. Spiderman really seemed like it was outdated. It's amazing how much progress has been done with 3D technology in the past 10 years.
  23. ...then Robb got squished like a bug by a giant dinosaur...
  24. YES! I do that all the time unless it is my first ride. Has rain ever cancelled your plans on going to an amusement park?
  25. I really think Day 8 you should explore LA the whole day and then to Pacific Park at night. Really, if you're flying over 2000 miles, you should look around of what the place looks like. Also, I would swap Day 5 & Day 8, Disney is too busy on weekends especially Saturday. Also, as mentioned above, DCA is a 1/2 day park.
