  1. Grizzly Run looked the same as it did when I was there in mid summer of 2006. It wasn't even on. In my lone visit to the park, I enjoyed my time there, but you could tell it's time was dwindling. It was late June and there was no one there. The longest line was X-Flight, and it was only ten minutes.
  2. ^ And never be afraid to ask here. Most of us won't bite your head off. My first post was about SLC's too. I thought it stood for steel looping coaster, like in RCT2. Oops!
  3. ^ Except that it isn't limited to just theme park lots. So, is it really any worse than anywhere else? Security or no security, if someone wants to really do something, they will. I've had my own car stolen in front of my house. It is what is.
  4. OK, since this seems to be a reoccuring theme in a lot of posts lately. here you go. 1) Be descriptive. Which way are you coming from? Where are you headed? Orlando to whatever is your destination. 2) Are you trying to do this trip cheap? Mid level? Expensive? 3) Do you have season passes for SF parks? General questions will give you general answers, which don't really help.
  5. Stupid. Just plain stupid.
  6. How did I miss this? Oh yeah, because Derek and I were at Summit and Surly! I always love seeing how each brewery is a bit different.
  7. Moving to Ask Alvey.
  8. ^ I see that you are a fairly new member so thanks for posting, but I should mention that you probably should re-read the posting rules: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21962 When it comes to making a post, please be sure to captialize and use proper grammar. Again we know that you are a new member so it does take a little bit of time to learn the ropes around here, so thanks for joining up.
  9. Please do a search. There's disussion on this in the Ask Alvey Forum
  10. ^ Except that it's been mentioned a dozen times in here, that the parks are run seperately from AB. I doubt it will be sold. InBev is basically a monstrous distributor, so AB will probably run just like before, but as a division. A very large division. I can't see the Busch family giving up the name, and American consumers wouldn't get a name change either.
  11. ^ I'm assuming it was a pocket knife.
  12. Once again, I try to watch the NBA, and I see Kobe's blatant reach in foul at the end. C'mon people.
  13. OK, as seen in Derek's PTR, we headed off to Valleyfair (minus the exclamation point) last Sunday. I went last year with Paul on a day in which there were no crowds (late August), and it rained most of the day. It looked like it was going to be more of the same on this trip. Renegade still kicks ass, Steel Venom is yummy, and the rest of the credits are just so-so. VF is a nice park, but not somewhere I'd venture out of my way to hit up. Off to the pictures. An awesome weekend ends with a donkey. They were playing Madonna and Justin Timberlake's new song. It immediately made me want to kill them. We watched the rapids ride from Renegade, and thought we'd try it. Then we saw this. Um. No. Derek feel asleep. Until the waterfall got him! This mini train ride kicks serious butt. Look at it! Corkscrew vertical loopage. It was a must. Derek was watching, and he applies beatings if you don't. Power Tower. One up, two down. It took me ten minutes to get this shot. Yes, I'm sad and pathetic. Ah Wild Thing. You make my heart scream. You make me gooey. OK, not really. Play games made by Cameron. They are all awesomely good. Twirly. Impulsey yumminess. With a holding brake on top. I took this same picture last year. Minus the sun and blue sky. Go me. Artsy. Kind of. High Roller. It is neither high. Nor did it roll. I love me some trains. Wii! See, it's not so exciting without trees. Crazy Mouse through the TREES! I love Renegade. The crew moves fairly quickly and the ride in back is nice and intense. First stop, Renegade. We're sad and pathetic and were the first ones in line. Not Valleyfair! Just plain old Valleyfair. I guess they knew there wasn't a whole lot of excitement going down here.
  14. Jimmy, you still suck. I guess I'll have to go have a drink to celebrate your victory!
  15. ^ As stated before, this is the Beta. Not all the park pages are up yet.
  16. Practice? Practice?! Not a game. Not a game. But practice?! Pip was the man. He obviously showed that in '94 when he had to go it alone. He should of been MVP that year. No one thought the Bulls would be on the brink of the Finals without MJ. That was by far, one of my favorite years to watch them.
  17. You did the typical first time PTR mistake. You previewed, thought the pics were backwards, and re did it. Note to any who post PTR's. If you preview your post before submitting, it will show the pictures in reverse order. Not to worry, once you submit, they go up in the order you uploaded them. Nice pics. And at least you had sun! Two trips to VF, and I've yet to see it.
  18. You have no idea. We can do updates to pages in minutes. This will be much easier.
  19. Well, you've seen the other side of the PTR, now here's mine. So there. Or something. First, I am not amused with the changes at MOA. I loved, loved, loved Camp Snoopy. Although, as Derek pointed out, it feels more open, I miss the fact that you could sit in the middle of the park and have almost a inkling that you were not actually in a mall. Poo to Nickolodeon Universe. I don't even know any of these characters, so the whole premise is a bit lost on me. Where's the "You Can't Do That On Television?" They need a ride themed to Dave Coullier gosh darn it! OK, enough ranting. Away we go! MoA first. To conclude day one, I made the ultimate sacrifice to save $10. I drank Pepsi. OK. One last shot of Mr. Squarepants. Silly camera. The Mighty Axe is no more. Poop. There it is again. My camera lusts for this coaster. Anyone care for a little Tapioca Tumbler? Hee hee. The scariest thing in Ghost Blasters. Derek. I did like the kiddie bumper cars. Very cool. Paging Dave Coullier. Mr. Coullier. Your aquatrax awaits you. I tried to get artsy. I failed. Yeah. This just rolls right off the tongue. Boo. Just boo. I spy a coaster whore. Crotch shot! Avatar Air Bender. Not the best bender I've ever had. Or the best bender I've been on. That's another story, for another time. In case you're lost, they put up a giant balloon. It let's you know you're in Nickelodeon hell. Dis be da Splat O Sphere. OK, I obviously decided Sponge Bob was the bomb. Or my camera just found it too dead sexy. I guess Dora only explores in circles. Good lord. What did they do to the station? It looks like Crayola puked all over the place. I hate it when beer drinking coaster whores get in my pictures. Mmmm. Aerosmith. Lovin' it in up while I'm going down. In the air. In the air. In the air. Love in an elevator. This sign is awesome. That's about it for my likeness in the theming going down here. Future sight of the Dave Coullier themed aquatrax. Bank on it. It's coming. Checked into hotel, picked up Derek, and we're whoring in less than fifteen minutes. Hour three. Once past the Dells, Wisconsin still sucks. Good lord. Does it eve not rain on these trips through Wisconsin?
  20. Afternoons and Coffeespoons - Crash Test Dummies
  21. Ah, but if you enjoy everything a good beer can offer, it's really much more than for just getting drunk. I can't tell you the last time I was drunk (probably October), but I drink every night. Trust me, I'm not knocking AB, I actually quite fond of the Wild Blue, and they at least let some of the brands try new things. I just don't care for mass produced American Lagers. I cut my teeth on them in college, and I just can't go back. Sam Adams is the only mass produced stuff you'll find in my fridge, and trust me, I've always got it in there. It's no more expensive than AB or Miller, and I find it to be of a much higher quality. When AB stops promoting their beer as the best American Lager full of taste, I'll stop snubbing my nose at them. OK, back to park talk!
  22. Unfortunately, AB is feeling the crunch under the SABMiller distribution giant. The rumor is that if AB doesn't agree to this InBev will go purchase SABMiller, which will really hurt AB. I think it's a done deal. There's no way they can't do this. Either way, it's all crappy beer. You people need to read the beer thread, where real American beer is brewed (and we drink it), not this moist air in a bottle.
  23. ^ It's a family coaster + dark ride. Nothing spectacular, but it's a nice way to see the park. I actually found the Orange Streak hideous. I miss the Ripsaw, and the station building.....gag. The Orange Streak almost gave me a brown streak.
  24. The conspiracy theories of fixing series will go on forever. It went on before the NBA got huge in the 90's and it'll go on much longer. It is what it is. A league wher you can change your pivot foot, take eight steps to the basket, not put a hand on an offensive player, and get called for the ridiculous "illegal defense."
