  1. ^^hopefully time for new trains someday soon
  2. Was Shock Wave closed at SFOT? Would've been one of the main reasons for me to visit the park....
  3. Good to see this! Construction shouldn't take long as the coaster is a portable - so one to two weeks maximum.
  4. ^If you want to visit Munich during Oktoberfest plan to spend at least €200 (USD 300) per night at a 2** hotel. I think this is way too expensive. If you've a little time try out Scandinavia on a tour from Stockholm (Gröna Lund) over Göteborg (Liseberg) to Copenhagen (Tivoli, Bakken)- but these won't be open at your time. If only for one city next to Madrid Paris also has two parks to offer: Disney Europe and Parc Asterix. The Netherlands also have nice offerings like Efteling and Walibi Holland plus half a dozen cool smaller parks. And the country is quite small you can easily do all from Amsterdam with a rental car - drive times to Slagharen is about 2-3 hours, and this is the most far out from the city. The smaller parks also might be closed or only open during the weekend. Generally most European parks will be closed in October and November - nearly all on weekdays.
  5. Honestly I haven't seen a new Zyklon coaster since the mid-80s - and that's a good thing. These coasters are not very good and the early-70s design is so outdated....
  6. I still remeber Geister-Rikscha from the Dom here in Hamburg. Next to that I'm quite sure the Frisbee also formerly travelled here.
  7. Looking great! But isn't Moe's way too bright and clean?
  8. Looks very good and like 2014 will be the the "Year of Pretzel-Loops" for me with this and SpeedMonster (TusenFryd) and Helix (Liseberg). Let's see who can built the best: B&M, Intamin or Mack?
  9. Polar Xplorer at Legoland Billund
  10. ^Thats why it should be law to have center guardrails on all multilane highways Overall I've to say that US drivers are far more defensively driving than drivers here in Germany. We've a saying here: "Who brakes looses!"
  11. After our last winters were quite intense it's good to see they already go vertical.
  12. Höllenblitz at Hamburg Sommerdom
  13. We only make business as we can - thats why we are successful even in the crisis.
  14. Sad to hear that Windseekers have so many problems. Never experienced anything like this on a Funtime Flyer. 3 times when I was riding (2x Hansapark, 1x Holidaypark) the ride stopped while all the way up - but according to the Hansa-Park operator you only have to make a hard reset on the control box, during system check the control box "sees" that the passenger compartment is in the wrong place and slowly lowers it down into parking position - the whole procedure is over after about 1-2 minutes. After that the ride resumes normally...
  15. I would have liked it more as a Ranger type ride. Wide loops or hanging upside down don't bother me while this short spaced spinning makes me lightly dizzy. The rear gondola seems to be fixed - or broken....
  16. Great pics! Have to do this some day as long as they have two Schwarzkopf coasters and a Weber Traumboot. I guess the major difference is that a visit in the US would cost ten times as much...
  17. Thanks for the TR. These parks look like mid-sized carnivals to me
  18. Always cool to watch the Updates on TPRs tours. Sadly as I always have to fix my holiday planning by September I assume I can't attend anytime soon...
  19. ^I've seen it on the carnival where a train was stopped inside a block brake and the brake won't release the train due to malfunction. Logically the ride had to close until the brake was fixed.
  20. There are no neighbors nearby the park - the whole park is surrounded by woods and fields. The only house I know is behind Colossos and was/is the villa of the former owners of the park...
  21. Great Report! Sadly can't get to these two this year but will do next June. As I already want to do TusenFryd and Liseberg - Helix YAYYYYY - I'll add a ferry to Frederikshavn and go from there by rental car to Djurs and Faarup before returning to Germany.
  22. ^&^^ Except for Colossos - which was a prototype - Heide-Park always got small variants like Desert-Race or Krake. I'd also like to see a real world-class coaster but doubt it.
  23. Maybe thats why parks have so little Technical Park or KMG rides in the US. Seeing at the carnival which poeple are turned away on those I guess many visitors in US parks would be turned down. On a Technical Park Loop Fighter they always have to jam me on for the restraint to go green - and I'm 1,95 meters at 100 kilos. But never had any issues on Intamin coasters. But generally I guess the rules on overwieght riders will get stricter after the recent events at SFOT.
  24. ^^Never used this so far. If not available do Colossos first and before closing. Do Krake in the afternoon as line shortens after 3pm. Depending on weather the park can get well filled - while some states are back to school the last return mid-September. If you can still re-schedule the best time would be the last two weeks of September before Autumn school holidays begin early October. I'd recommend to hire a car. Heide-Park is located on the Autobahn 7 Hamburg-Hannover - however there is construction at the Autobahnkreuz south of Hamburg until end of September connecting Autobahn 1 and 7, ecpect a detour and traffic jams there. Also if staying in Hamburg try to get a hotel south of the Elbe so you don't have go through the Elbtunnel - which is a known bottleneck.
