Drayton Manor Discussion Thread

www.bbc.com/news/uk-39862996 This is terrible! Apparently the girl fell out of a raft on the Splash Canyon river rapids ride! Thoughts and prayers to the family! -
SFFT added a Larson Super Loop, Zamperla Disk'o and a Tilt-a-Whirl. SFOG has a Larson Looper and a Tilt-a-Whirl, but no Disk'o. SFSTL has the Larson Looper and the Disk'o, but no Tilt-a-Whirl. Looks as if the handwriting is on the wall. SFOG will receive a Zamperla Disk'o next year, whilst SFSTL gets a Tilt-a-Whirl.

I'm guessing Joker will have a VIP preview on Wed, May 17th. This will be followed by the Gold Pass holder preview on Thursday, May 18th, the regular Season Pass holder preview on Friday, May 19 and finally, open to the public on Sat, May 20th. This would be, more or less, what they did last year with Riddler, Catwoman and Harley Quinn.

No, I did not get a chance to ride Mr. Freeze. We were going to ride Riddler but the line was really long, there were maintenance people at Catwoman fixing the ride, Skyscreamer was closed due to high winds. I rode Conquistador 5 times. I also rode the antique cars while I was waiting for NTAG to open. Too bad about Mr. Freeze, it's one of our best rides. Riddler always has a long line, that's because it's easily the best flat ride at any SF park. Or at least until La Ronde and Discovery Kingdom open theirs. As for Skyscreamer, it's nearly twice as tall as the one at Fiesta! Too bad you didn't get to try it out. Catwoman is a Zamperla Endeavor 48 and the first of it's kind. Which is to say, a floorless Enterprise style ride. Coney Island has one, but theirs only has 24 seats.

Any progress on Titan? -
Absolutely!! In fact, the new chain link fences will be made from the latest high tech metals. And, in use for the first time at any theme park, will be a new innovation, poles! That's right! Poles!!! These new poles will allow for the attachment of the chain link fences to create walkways leading to yet another innovation, switchbacks. Cutting edge technology will greet guests in the form of handrails which come together to form an alternating path leading up to the loading station! Sure sounds exciting! I can hardly wait to try out those new handrails!

^ I should point out that Rattler at SFFT lost quite a bit of length during it's conversion. But no one seems to be complaining about the result. I think the real reason the park doesn't convert The Boss is down to SF corporate. After all, this is SFSTL we're talking here. It's not as if SF is willing to spend tons of money on a park they consider less important than other parks in the chain. SF could ante up and spend the money needed to make a truly spectacular RMC Boss conversion. But, like I said, this is SFSTL, not SFMM.
