  1. Let me take a stab at this... you're from Ohio!
  2. This thread cracks me up!
  3. I don't remember it (I was 6 when the park closed) but I do remember my first "big" coaster was Giant Coaster the year the park closed! I got to ride between my parents! lol. I also remember being terrified of Laff-in-the-Dark, and drooling at Comet begging my parents to ride. Of course, I wasn't tall enough.
  4. Ancient Greece I changed the colors of The Furies. What do you think? I also added two flat rides to Ancient Greece: Cyclops and The Minotaur's Maze. And two dark rides that share a building, Erebus (the path to the underworld) and The River Styx. Work has begun on the Jungle. I added a family coaster, Prowler. Here's the front of the station. A flat ride, another food court, and the last skyride station. That's it for now. Comments? Suggestions?
  5. I call shenanigans. Six Flags obviously worded those questions in a way that would get positive responses. They should ask more questions about pricing and operations, then they probably would have a more realistic view. For example, my trip to SFNE this year. They DID have a good variety of rides, the park was relatively clean, there were characters present, and there were rides the whole family could do together. However, there were MANY line jumpers and people smoking in line, the ride ops were dispatching trains with empty rows with a 90-minute wait for Superman, single rider lines were not being managed properly, and every ride we went on they stapled us to death with our lap bars. That's probably why they got good marks for "safety of rides", cause GP probably figure, "Well, the lap bar is inside my small intestine, there's no way I'm falling out!" You can have the greatest park ever, but if operations suck, so does the park, IMO. I'd rather go to Martin's Fantasy Island, where they only have 2 coasters and not many rides, but it's a good value for your money and you don't get stapled to death on the Silver Comet.
  6. Great photos, I LOVE Ontario Place. I love the log flume and the mazes. Do they still give you a card to carry around and stick in those things in each maze? (hopefully you know what I'm talking about). I miss the lego and nintendo pavilions! Oh, and I HATE HYDROFUGE!! I always seem to land on my head... never riding that again!
  7. I love how the Darien Lake commercials are like "Come visit New York's best theme park!" It makes me laugh... because EVERY SINGLE park I've visited in New York is waaaay better than DL.
  8. ^Are you calling my park crap, or saying you won't have to download a bunch of stuff to make my park work on your computer? BTW, the park won't be ready for download for a LONG time, but can anybody tell me how to make a download for it?
  9. Oh, ok. I have a smiliar situation here, I use a Mac for everyhing but my copy of RCT2 is on my old PC from college, which isn't connected to the internet. I transfer everything with a jump drive. Yay for tumble bugs!
  10. You realize Coasterdude5 LIVES IN MEMPHIS, right? I think he has a good idea of how stuff is themed there. Nice work with Maat-Ka, I can't wait to see more!
  11. It was my 15th birthday, and the first time my parents let me out of the house in this darling little pink halter top, tight cutoffs, and high-heeled shoes. I felt so naughty! So, I celebrated by strutting down to the 7-11 to buy a bubblegum slurpee and maybe a pack of Camels, if I was lucky. And as I was standing there by the slurpee machine, in walked this tall guy, all in black, with black hair and piercing steel gray eyes! He looked me up and down, his cold eyes burning into my flesh--well, actually, the cold burning was just my slurpee overflowing out of the cup, but you get the idea! "I'm Bruno. You like bubblegum slurpees, baby?" I just nodded. "Can I have a sip?" I held the cup out toward him. But he grabbed me and laid his mouth over mine, his tongue darting in and out like a dancing cobra! And me with a major brain freeze from my slurpee! "Mmm--good slurpee. Let's have some more!" And he whipped out his big 44 magnum and blasted the slurpee machine six times! We were both just wet and dripping bubblegum and cherry slurpee goo! "What did you think of that, baby?" "Eww," I said. So I whipped out my cellphone and called 911! And that's the story of my first kiss. Bruno is up for parole in another ten years. I wonder if he still has my number?
  12. Just a random question... why do you do your screenshots like that? Seems like more trouble than it's worth.
  13. ^I do have custom scenery. I am honestly not sure where all of it came from. I have some custom paths and other things. Thanks again everybody for your input. I did not have time to work on the park today, but I hope to do so tomorrow.
  14. ^Yeah. Originally they were all black, but I didn't like how that looked. Then I did black with the colored rails and I still didn't like how it looked. Does anybody have any suggestions? It's much easier to match colors with only 2 tracks. I also wanted Tisiphone to be red cause she's avenging murder. I'll do some landscaping around the ride eventually too... I was thinking of adding a few tunnels also, we'll see if that helps.
  15. The Furies The Furies (Erinyes) were the characterization of vengeance in Greek and Roman mythology. The three sisters Alecto ("unceasing"), Magaera ("grudging"), and Tisiphone ("avenging murder"), tormented evil-doers. The Furies at Ultraworld is a three-tracked, racing/dueling coaster. The peeps love this one. Especially Tisiphone, for some reason. So yeah, as long as you haven't killed your brother or cheated on your wife, you have nothing to fear from this coaster. It's not like a Vekoma or something. Here is the station. You can see a faint white line where the actual station ends and the additional roof begins. I hope this picture clears up how to make a three-tracked ride. It's a big old mess of track. Here's one of the duels... I so timed this pic wrong. I wish I could make a video of the ride. Another poorly-timed shot... side-by-side heartline rolls. And the final race to the station. I also made a few improvements to the park: The water park got a new name: Splash Acres! There was this little corner in the midway where a bunch of peeps were randomly wandering around.. hmm, what to do? I think I'll add a round-up... That's just what was needed! yay!
  16. wow, I thought I was the only person who had ever heard of Katatonia! "Doomsday Clock" - Smashing Pumpkins
  17. ^^I made the center station two squares longer than the two outside ones, on the back end. The front of all three stations line up. Then, I just put the entrance and exit for the center coaster on that last square. The two outside coasters turn right into the station. I think the coaster is pretty ugly, actually. It's just one big mess of track. But it's really fun to watch the trains interact!
  18. The buildings look better, but I personally think using that pavement plus the brick buildings doesn't work so well... they kind of blend together. You might want to experiment with different colors and path styles.
  19. ^^^Yeah, I thought about that, but then I wouldn't be able to get it back to the station as quickly. I'll play around with it a little. The peeps still don't like it all that much. ^LOL! That seriously made me laugh! I didn't notice that before! I will definitely fix that! Thanks for the comments and suggestions, everybody!
  20. I did more work on the park yesterday, adding rides and a bit of landscaping throughout the park. The water park is now home to a swimming pool. As well as a shoot-the-chutes style coaster (the train is in the water splash, you can't see it). Here's the old fashioned car ride in the midway area. I did a little landscaping around Splashdown. And put in another new food court. The peeps did NOT like my shoot-the-chutes, so I decided to modify it a bit! That's better. I added a small rapids ride behind Twister, one of the slides. And changed the skyride stations. I didn't know I could make a station that's just four tiles and it would hold all 22 cars! Whoops! lol. A hint of what's to come in Ancient Greece... Rides I've added: Water Park Swimming Pool Rapids Ride Shoot-the-Chutes water coaster Ancient Greece The Furies (3-track dueling/racing coaster)
  21. Connecticut DC Florida Georga Illinois Maine Maryland Massachusetts New Hampshire New Jersey New York Ohio Pennsylvania Tennessee Virginia Passed through: Indiana Kentucky Rhode Island
  22. I've been making parks since good old RCT1 came out. And yeah, that skyride has been giving me a lot of problems. I worked on the park a little more today, but I forgot to take screenshots and I'm too darn lazy to go turn the other computer on again. I did add a lot more scenery though... and the park is no longer owned by Cedar Fair (I added a few trees).
