I saw that too about Avenue Q closing. I went last year to two performances during the last week of Rent at the Nederlander and it was so incredibly emotionally stirring...dunno that Q will be the same, hah! The Rent tour with Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal will be coming out to SF the weeks before and after my birthday. Perfect timing, if I do say so myself. It's not a question of "if" I'm going, but how many times I will go!!!

i made a bit of an ass out of myself in front of a relatively important person in my field (companion animal genomics) today while i was in the lab. my teal and purple hair is fading, i was dressed all scrubby and a little on edge about some perl code i was writing, and my professor thought she'd be nice and introduce me to the visitor and told me to explain my research and i was like "yeah i'm looking at catnip response in domestic cats" because well i felt like a jerk and didn't know what to say. also finals are next week and i have to do a presentation in a class tomorrow on an 11 page scientific review article i just finished writing. and i am SICK of being a TA for this stupid bio 1 class and can't wait until next quarter when i get to TA genetics instead. undergrads are dumb and i am sick of their idiot misconceptions about evolution and natural selection and genetics and biology SO THERE!!!!! edit: oh yeah also my professor sprung a grant extension progress report on me today and is going out of town on friday for a month or something and the progress report needs to be turned in next week so i had to drop everything and write that today tooooo WOOOOO ACADEMIA

Yikes, I don't even know if I should post this here, but I think that I have problems beyond my recently diagnosed ADHD as far as relationships go. I really don't like relationships. I get super bored with people after too long, as anyone who's registered here who's had a relationship with me (maybe 2 people) can attest to. So now, here I am, having moved to CA with a guy after dating for 3 years. We're on the opposite side of the country from most everyone else we know, have acquired a dog, 2 cats and a snake together, and depend on each other for such things as rent, groceries, etc. But holy christ do I want OUT! I feel like it's all just going through the motions, and I'm way too much of a wuss to say this to him. I mean, I started to, once, a few weeks ago, but we never really start talking about this stuff until I'm already totally pissed about something else and/or too tired to really process what I want to say. Now we don't really fight, maybe 3 times in the 3 years we've been together, but I'm bored and now I've started talking to someone who lives about an hour and a half away under questionable circumstances and I kinda...have a bit of a thing for him. Wow, what a disgusting display of e/n bull. Nobody's around who I feel comfortable talking about this with right now, so it comes out here. Ick.

That's not true. If you lose Nana (the pink one in the normal costume) you don't die, you just...lose Nana. Anyway - Ike, Lucario and Star Wolf are pretty awesome from what I can see so far. Olimar's good but I don't have a real handle on him yet. Toon Link is good too. It seems like most characters have potential and it's pretty well balanced thus far - unlike Melee. Oh, except Jigglypuff. For some reason they nerfed Jigglypuff.

Ok here's the only thing. Do not DATE people from Cedar Point. Don't do it. Um, you can mess around all you want but do not think that you are going to get a reasonable long term relationship out of it - very few people make that work and it's a big mess. Plus it's more fun to just go out all the time and not worry about that BS. As for creds, I worked there from summer 1999 to Halloweekends 2002, in ride ops for the whole time, on a lot of different rides. Just have a good time and you'll make some good friends too.

Those two statements are blatantly contradictory. The Ravens were decidedly not a good team (5-11 with a loss to the DOLPHINS and one of those wins being a close one when the Steelers were resting their starters). And the Eagles were the only team in the NFC East not to make the playoffs (with AJ Feeley at the helm). The Pats choked against MEDIOCRE and BAD teams, not good ones. I hate the New England Patriots and there are only 2 teams that I would hate to see go 19-0 more: the Browns and the Ravens. Maybe the Chargers too, their fans are pretentious as anything. So GO ELI! I'm not making any predictions or betting anything on the game, but I am going to be cheering my Steelers-loving heart out for Eli Manning, Osi Umenyiora and PLAX! GO GMEN!

Was the genetic disorder something that you and your wife could be tested for or a random freak mutation? I'm a budding geneticist, so I have interest in these sorts of things. Understand if you don't want to talk about it, but I gotta ask.
