  1. How cute.... I will have to post Sammi's too. I think Amanda favors Gregg and Josh favors you, am I right? Shari "They always look so nice the first day...." Shoufler
  2. I know that Old Coney Island here in Cincy flooded many, many times over the years and the rides always seemed to get repaired, refurbished and they went on.... However, with Six Flags having issues..... The whole thing is just such an unbelievable tragedy that an amusement park should be the least of anyone's concern, including ours. Shari
  3. "Up With People" Tour 2005 or "At European theme parks, the shows are performed ON the rides" Shari
  4. I started reading the article and when I got to the name "Larson" I started to laugh, because it all came back to me..... Back in 1987 I stayed at Larson's Lodge with my older brother and his family when we stopped for a couple days at Disney enroute to my sister-in-law's parent's house in Nokomis. We had driven through the night, so it was about 1:00 in the afternoon when we got there. We were given a room number and told our room would be ready in a couple of hours. We decided to go and check where our room was, and when we got there, we looked in and it was a DISGUSTING mess....food, dirty diapers, etc EVERYWHERE. I can't remember if Mike and Lynn got us a different room or what, but I do remember that it was kind of a ghetto place. Shari
  5. The Dream Foundation, in Santa Barbara, ROCKS!! They grant wishes for terminially ill ADULTS and they are flying my brother in law and his sister to LA in two weeks so that he can fufill his dream (actually it was the dream of his and his late daughter, who was killed three years ago by a drunk driver) of going to CBS and attending a taping of The Price is Right. My brother in law has terminal cancer and we can't believe how quickly this awesome organization put this together!! Shari "I hope he gets to meet Bob Barker" Shoufler
  6. Chris.... don't blame Ozzy....blame the idiot people who come to the concerts... I just went to Jimmy Buffett this past Sunday (my trip report is coming; we were allowed disposable cameras) and they have instituted the same policy regarding blankets in the past few years. The reason being is because (at least as far as our venue and the JB concert) a few years ago, a bunch of drunks got the brilliant idea to put a girl in the blanket and then throw her....Naturally, she got seriously hurt. We took a disposable plastic tablecloth and opened it just enough to sit on, and nobody said anything. I also saw people who took their blanket and cut it into small squares and they allowed that also. Shari "Gregg's camera idea is good, too" Shoufler
  7. ^Amen, brother Gregg!!
  8. ^Thank GOD!! I thought no one liked me anymore
  9. OK.... this is weird.... I know I posted some things here the end of last week....but now they are gone.....am I being erased??????????
  10. Sounds awesome, but unfortunately we're going to have to wait for something stateside! I am sure that it will be a great trip for all of you who can go! Shari "Vacation funds, if available, will be donated to the Walt Disney Company in the summer of 2006" Shoufler
  11. Bon Bon Land.... Wow. Talk about the anti-Disney. Shari
  12. Great post Gregg, although I can't help but wonder if you'd had a bad day?! I have a couple to add.... 1) People who call your place of business for information, directions, an appointment, etc and when you start to tell them they say "Let me get a pen" (HELLLOOOO!!) 2) Waiters who take your check and cash at the table and then say "Do you need change?" Why not just say "Did you include my tip in this?" Shari
  13. I am so excited that we have some locals on both shows. Survivor has a girl from Maysville, KY and TAR has a family from right here in Cincy. Pretty cool. For being such a conservative city, we love our Jimmy Buffett and our reality tv! Shari
  14. For those of you who are starting to suffer withdrawl (like me!) CBS has posted the cast lists for Survivor and Amazing Race! http://www.cbs.com/ As much as I love Survivor, I can't wait for the family Amazing Race. My daughter and I have been watching reruns of the previous series on GSN this summer just to get our TAR fix. Shari "Missing Jeff Probst and Phil Keoghan" Shoufler
  15. So where was Josh??? Did he hook up with Hooters girls for the weekend? Looks like fun! Does it make you nervous when Amanda looks so tiny for the seats of those rides? I keep wanting Sammi to get just a inch taller so she hits the 48" mark, but then I think.."OOH, do I REALLY want to strap her into (insert ride name here) as small as she is?" I know she'd be fine on something like chairswings (that a few years ago didn't have a 48" height limit, anyway) but when I think of putting her on something like Raven or The Beast or whatever, I get nervous. Shari
  16. Am I the only one who thinks Robb looks frighteningly like Pee Wee Herman in this picture?????? Shari "I know you are but what am I?" Shoufler
  17. This photo reminded me of Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire...remember the part where Harvey Fierstein is trying on the different "looks" for Mrs. Doubtfire and Robin's singing "Matchmaker, Matchmaker make me a match?" Shari
  18. I just think they are selling them because they are now an "outdated" ride for a major park. I remember the first time I rode DD at CP... it was back in '86 and then it was like "wow.... a ride that drops you....ooooohhhh". Now you look at it, look down the midway to Power Tower, and look back at DD and laugh. Shari "Maybe one will end up here at Old Coney" Shoufler
  19. ^Wondering if our condo association would let me install one of them in some of our greenspace???? Shari "I am sure the old folks would all enjoy it" Shoufler
  20. ^I am with Gregg...this is one of our all time favorite movies!! Shari "MMMawage....is what brwings us togeter....today. Wove....twu wove..."Shoufler
  21. Great photos, Ted.... and yeah, she looks like she could kick your ass Shari
  22. Another day, another pickle...another fun TR from Julie. I totally get how hard is to travel with your mom (read my HW report and the 100 pound wheelchair of death) but just remember the good memories you are making with her, and that someday you won't have that. At least that's what I remind myself of as I am pushing her ass in the 90 degree heat!! (only kidding, Mom!) Shari "Not only would I have not ridden the pig in the first place, but had I had no choice, I would have forbidden photographs!" Shoufler
  23. They're not boiled, they are steam grilled.... I love these bad babies, but they don't love me. It's been a while since I have had them, although I keep telling Sammi I am going to take her to try them because as a child my folks and I would go for them at lunch, and my dad would get carryout and we would eat it the car (remember when cars had like little dining trays when you opened the glove compartment???). Great childhood memories. Shari "Glad you liked them Elissa and, by the way, you look good with Doogie Howser" Shoufler
  24. OMG!! A Fascination Parlor!!! Growing up here in Cincy we had this park, pretty much on par to Indiana Beach, call LeSourdsville Lake (aka Americana). They had Fascination and it totally looked like this.... My mom, Big Max, would spend hours in there, and back then she smoked like a chimney, so that was bonus for her. Almost like playing Bingo. They had a person who sat in like a DJ booth who would harken people in from the midway by saying something like "Come and play, stay all day, it's California Bingo, FA-SCIN-ATION". My mom won enough tickets to win me this set of dishes, ceramic even, with Raggedy Ann and Andy on them. She still has the plate and mug to this day. Great TR as always Julie, and now another place to add to the short list, based on the Fascination parlor! Shari "California Bingo" Shoufler
  25. Despite my recent brain-jarring ride, I have always defended the Beast because of the awesome layout and just the fact that it led the pack for many years. I still think it's a great coaster, just wish they would do something to smoothen out the ride. I definitely think they could improve that. Shari "I still remember watching the news breaks the day they opened that ride...it was BIG news!!" Shoufler
