Sunday is supposed to be sunny and in the mid 60's... I'd venture to say that there will be a healthy amount of people at the park... Not sure if it'll approach what it was back on Columbus Day since there is school on Monday however... On top of the good weather, the Bears and Packers both aren't playing this Sunday. I get the feeling that the typically more tolerable crowds on Sundays (as opposed to Saturdays) are at least partially due to people watching the Bears or Packers play. That's a bummer for anyone planning on this coming Sunday that both happen to have their bye weeks.

Favorite Arrow Coaster

This gets my vote as well. Demon's first drop is the hidden gem of SFGAm. IIRC, it also had some of it's track replaced with that of the dearly departed Shockwave, so there's the sentimental aspect as well. KI's Vortex, BGW's Loch Ness Monster and DW's Tennessee Tornado are my other favorites of those that are still around. Viper at SFMM is very high on my bucket list. It'll be sad when these things start disappearing at a faster clip. -

I hate every inch of land and sea that separate me from this thing. -
Bummer, since Hulk was designed just before B&M began mixing vagisil into the ink they print their blueprints with. I wasn't given the impression that the ride would be toned down at all. It's probably not what they're going for, but the B&M of today is different than the B&M of old. If they're re-shaping track sections...I'm not an engineer, but I would imagine that the difference between a forceful ride and a fluff ride are not too radical in terms of track profile. It would probably only take a tweak here or there to turn Kumba into Kraken. The last two standard sitdown loopers they built (not including floorless - Wildfire and Led Zeppelin) are 100% snappy transition-free.

Hard to pick between Raptor & Mantis- I'll get the chance to see what Rougarou is all about in a few days. As for Gatekeeper, the only redeeming qualities is has are aesthetic, and that it eats people towards the front of the park. Beyond that, it resides in the same realm as Superman Ultimate Flight and Led Zeppelin. It would be a great beginners coaster to take your kids on if only a lower height restriction could be implemented safely.

I think that's a pretty spot-on summary of The Boss. I would hate to see anything changed about it apart from maybe swapping the G-Trains for something else. If SFStL ever jumps on to the Six Flags RMC bandwagon, I'd much rather they build one from scratch- or even mess with Evel Knievel if it came to that, despite there being nothing wrong with it- before going for Boss. GCI along the lines of EK can be found all over the place; giant, out of control terrain wood coasters can not. -

There isn't a whole lot about this place beyond the pair of giant Vekoma Coasters that interests me, but since about the time they were built (also right around the time I became interested in coasters), it's been high on my list of parks to visit when I eventually make it out to Europe to ride. I'd love for some US park to order something similar to either of these off Vekoma's menu. -
I went on Sunday 10/4 and crowds were surprisingly light. Worst wait was about 40 minutes for Goliath in the early afternoon, and towards the end of the day things gradually approached walk-on territory. I don't keep track, but over the past few years it feels like the park has gradually pruned squares from the operating calendar prior to and after the peak-season, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover the park is open until 10 on Sundays in Fright Fest.

What is the worst B&M/intamin/GCI
Ed Farmer replied to christianscoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Superman Ultimate Fluff (B&M) - What an unfortunate waste of steel and land. White Lightning (GCI) - Not bad by any means, it's just the one that I found least memorable. Half Pipe (Intamin) - sucks. Still not a fan of Mehrenheit or Cheetah Hunt, but after visiting Elitch Gardens, Half Pipe really impressed me in a bad way, and is in a league of it's own. -

Wow, very surprised and glad to see this park has actually happened. Hope the place does well. -
By unique I mean something other than lift, curved drop, pretzel loop, turn, roll, turn, roll, turn, brakes a sequence that every flyer except Starry Night Ripper seems to follow somewhat. I do enjoy Manta, the pretzel loop is getting to be a bit much for me in my old age but the themeing around the rest of the ride is enjoyable. B&M Flyer Pretzel Loops are a curious case to me- I like Batman The Ride-esque intensity on my looping coasters, and Pretzel Loops probably meet that criteria, but the sensation they give is just awkward. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly that causes it, but it's probably enhanced by all the fluff there is in the layout prior to and after this one super-intense element. I've not ridden Tatsu or any of the overseas examples.
