  1. Here comes that "world's tallest mule-go-round" rumor again
  2. This is interesting, I've never heard of the place. I have family in Dexter so this could make those family trips *slightly more interesting. I thought I had heard that the Sikeston/ Poplar Bluff area was having a growth spurt but could be wrong.
  3. This. Same with SDC. I went in April of '13- right after Outlaw Run opened- and had never been before when the trees were bare. It gave a really interesting view of the coasters in particular and how they use the terrain to their advantage. For example, it hadn't occurred to me that the lowest point on Thunderation (that curve before the brakes and lift) runs right next to the entrance road. Driving by it, you can look straight up the mountain and see how dramatic the difference is between the highest and lowest points, even though the track itself is rarely that high off the ground directly below it.
  4. Absolutely. Count me in. I enjoy the idea of winning the big powerball and making a huge backyard coaster happen.
  5. Agreed! I like parks that surround a lake. You're never far from a Kodak moment, and the traffic seems to flow better to me.
  6. Glad to see a new-ish layout for a Gerstlauer spinner/bobsled, even if it still has the same vibe
  7. That statement just seems ridiculous to me on so many levels. The part about it being 9th or being 6th? Nah man. It's cool though.
  8. I wish Tidal Wave was actually shaped like that
  9. I'm lol-ing at the absence of the word 'have', thereby turning 'Powder Keg' into a verb. "Hang on, I gotta go Powder Keg real quick". Not sure what that would entail, although I imagine taking off running down a hill is probably close.
  10. Again, thanks for putting the time in to keep us posted on what's going down in China. I've officially lost count of how many Jungle Trailblazers there are so I count on this thread to keep me up to speed.
  11. I'm liking how this ride turned out- a lot. It's always nice to see a new concept come to fruition. That first drop makes me miss Thriller.
  12. Agreed. I like that insane pop of air on the first drop. It's really not a boring layout, I just wish it was feasible to imagine Six Flags re-engineering a few parts of the track and adding new trains with updated harnesses. It could be such a good starter looper for the younger folk, but at this point I think its a bit too rough for most people.
  13. I totally remember this show. Channel 11, I believe? On Saturday nights? The name was something very stereotypical, very clubby. Wish I could remember it. I remember tuning in once or twice and it was SO AWKWARD.

  15. Good lord, how do you even get into that thing
  16. I know this was intended as a joke, but Dorney Park already has a log flume far superior to STR. So I just looked up a POV of the log flume at Dorney. Whoa. It's like a game of "don't get launched from the ride during that last turn into the station".
  17. Outlaw Run- everything flows alongside the terrain perfectly, dodging trees while delivering sustained speed and intensity. Kumba- one of the most aesthetically pleasing rides ever made. Their decision to build terrain and landscape around the track was spot on. Taron- I mean really. Just look at it. Voyage- I love every inch of this handsome guy. Boulder Dash- * Lake Compounce- You should put like 29 hills in a row on the return run. *CCI- Otay.
  18. *manufacturer Joking aside, what do we have confirmed so far? I'm ready for SDC's next installment!
  19. High five, girl! Also, has it been mentioned what the launch speeds will be? Sorry if it's been discussed and I missed it.
  20. I'm really excited to see how this turns out. I've had friends mention before that that creeper hill between the helix and the last couple turns was a needed break from the laterals. I always felt that it was a bit sluggish and broke up the pacing. This rehab sounds like another win for HW.
