  1. Fantastic! Love the use of the terrain. Quite the interesting layout as well. Go Liseberg!
  2. ^that looks nothing like what I thought it'd be. They're gonna make the ride look like a watch?
  3. I'm torn. Silent Hill is by far one of the downright creepiest series of games I've played. For me, they really captured the horror/terror aspect (at least in 2 and 3). But... IMO part of what makes the scary parts of the games scary isn't necessarily what you see, but what you can't. Couple that with absurdly horrific noises out there in the dark, and it's enough to make you pause the game to get a grip for a second. I just don't know how well that would translate to a haunt at Universal, seeing as if there were any noises out in the darkness, you wouldn't be able to hear them over the hundreds of people screaming at cracks in the concrete or twittering about the crowds. Still... given the overall atmosphere of the game, I can't think of a better theme that should at least be given a shot.
  4. Look. At. That. Drop. *my heart goes pitter pat*
  5. SO thankful the Holiday World team is fixing the valleys on the first two drops. I love me some Voyage - still probably my favorite woodie - but when I rode it at last year's Holiwood Nights, it became pretty unbearable after a few rides. So sad. Having such fond memories of how it rode opening year- how ABSOLUTELY blown away I was by it- I commend HW for their commitment to maintain upkeep and improvements on such an amazing ride. Crossing fingers I'll be in the backseat on some shiny new Timberliners this year.
  6. Quickly, while the subject of a giga looper has been brought up: While I've been sort of disenchanted with looping rides as of late, the thought of a 200+ foot vertical loop has always intrigued me. Inversions were fun when I was younger, especially when B&M started coming out with all their rides in the early 90's, and I was like, "Ooooo.... what's this zero-g thing all about, that looks fun... and this diving loop, that's fun too...", but it sort of faded for me after a while. That being said, the first time I rode Superman at Fiesta Texas, I was taken aback by the hangtime at the top of the loop, and was sort of smitten all over again. Heck, I ride Mr. Freeze multiple times every year, and going backwards through the top hat still makes me chuckle. Just wanted to pause and think about REALLY big inversions for a second.... k, got it all out of me. Carry on.
  7. Would be nice to have a filter on here so I can block unrelated nonsense banter. Or, if you're bitching and try to post, it just directs you to a page that says "shut up". Big B&M opening next year. It's gonna be rad, and awesome, and other positive superlatives. Word.
  8. I've always thought Lisbergbanan looked CRAZY. Definitely one of the most unique/original layouts out there, and some of those hills and turns have to be pulling crazy g's.
  9. @ Kings Island several years back with my friend Dave, in line for Outer Limits (or Flight of Fear, or Flight of Deck, or Outer Flight Deck of Fear, or something like that). Train pulls into the station empty. Dave freaks out. Dave: "Oh my god. All the people are gone and the shoulder thingies are up. No way I'm getting on this, I'm getting out of line." Me: "Um... no Dave, they let you off in a different part of the building." Dave: "Yeah right. That doesn't even make sense. I told you this ride isn't safe." Me: "So... you're implying that the ride restraints pop open mid ride and dump everyone out?" Dave: "Well yeah, I mean look at it. There's no one on it." Me: "Well... I guess you're right. I wonder how often the clean up crew comes to sweep all the bodies into the corner." He got out of line.
  10. I'm extremely excited to see The Blue Streak win the Pepsi Project and that it's back up and running. I've never been out there to ride it, but I'm definitely passionate about preserving our oldest roller coasters, if only for the sake of having that piece of nostalgia to look back upon. I don't see it as being any different than our grandparents, or us for that matter, hanging onto childhood relics and little bits of our past to preserve memories of the "good old days".
  11. awesomeness. this'll really round out the park's coaster collection, and I agree that this will give Mindbender a run for it's money as the best coaster in the park.
  12. sorry if i missed this along the lines, but was there renderings released for what the trains will look like?
  13. i'm not sure i've ever seen such a steep, curved incline as this one's first hill. maybe it's just the angle of the photos.. i don't know. looking forward to some raw POV footage of it in action.
  14. Hi! New here, my name's Lucy. Thought I'd jump into this conversation since there was mention of the new "towering" ride coming to my home park, SFSTL. Any thoughts? I'm straying from the thought of a new coaster - just doesn't seem feasible at the time, not to say that I wouldn't love to see a big shiny Intamin built here. (sigh...)
  15. Hi! My name's Lucy. But you can call me Lucy. Lovely to be here. Ready to talk some coasters.
