Okay so on sunday I ran up to BGT for the day to catch up on some coaster riding (I haden't ridden a coaster in nearly a month! OMG I know!). So as I walked to Montu, I noticed this sign above Ackbars Adventure Tours. It was kind of supicious that a ride that was closed earlier this year now has a sponsor. So is something going to take it's place? And what do you think it might be? ColinC Fujifilm?

Okay so yesterday I recieved my ACE magazene called "Roller Coaster" (yes I know, I'm an ACEr) and it has a 4 page trip report about this lady's trip to Japan. Now, in one of the parks there was a coaster called "Loop Coaster" which was built by Mesho (another "Arrow-Like" company) and it seems really interesting. It's like a shuttle loop, except you are pulled up the back spike and dropped backwards. So, has anyone been on one of these scary looking machienes? Just wondering because it sounds like an interesting ride... Colin C

I just finished mine about an hour ago, but it's going to take a while to upload using dial up. I did it to "Bounce" by System of A Down, and its 2:00 min long. EDIT: Okay, I clicked on the ftp website and it says it does not exsist. So, should I e-mail it to you? Or am I just missing something on how to upload this? Colin C

Steel Dragon 2000 could be scrapped!!!

Well, it did it's job of beating MF as tallest and fastest! I seriously think that it's a bummer that they spent all this money to build a gigantic coaster then destroy it. If it were up to me (which it isnt of course) I would give the new wheel assembly a chance, then if it doesnt work, scrap it. Colin"Or just put in a Intamin rokit coaster!"C EDIT: 200th post yay! -

Coolest Ride Vehicles
TheStig replied to Cerberus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I must say that TTD, Xcelerator, and (dont kill me for this) Whizzer have awsome trains! TTD is cool just because of the sleek, Top fuel dragster look, Xcelerator has the 57' Chevy thing goin on, and Whizzer has the coolest trains ever! I mean, a lap belt and tobbogan style seats on a great ride like itself is a awsome combo. Colin C -

Most Excited About?

I voted for Voyage. Mostly because Hades was by far the most amazing wooden coaster I have ever been on, and it looks like the Voyage might be better! Gravity group really did a good job of taking wooden coasters and putting in some awsome elements like the outside turns and 90* banked turn. Second in line would have to be Tatsu, because after riding two SUF's (SFOG, SFGAm) I really like how a flying coaster feels, and it'll be nice to have a little more time on your back then just at the bottom of a pretzel loop. My 3rd would have to be El Toro. Having only been on two (I count it as two) Intamin woodies, AER and AEB, I'm not sure what the new age Intamin wooden coasters are like. I know from what I've seen and heard that they are AMAZING, but I have yet to see for myself, although the layout looks airtime packed and fast paced. What's really nice, is I'm pretty sure I'm going to be at all of those parks over the summer, and even SFMM this December (it is open, right?). So I've got a good season ahead of me. Colin C -
Ripped Off Disney things!!!

DT is actuially an awsome ride, even though half of the themeing you can pick up at your local party store. It's really fun for a bobsled, and I agree that it's better than about half the rides at CP. Me and my friend Harrison rode it 30 times straight this summer, and after a while the ride op's didn't make us get off the train! Colin C -
^ Yeah I was looking at getting an extra HD and that's most likely what I'll do. I did go to the apple store about a month ago and they were selling 1TB HD's for somewhere around $900 bucks. I run Windows, but I think something around 500 bucks for a TB is a little more reasonable. I think I'll look into getting some more HD space... Colin"BTW, Serinity was awsome. Nice sig"C

Ahh one more invention to make America fatter and lazier. Who knows whats next, maybe an at home version of a cathader? I can just see it now: "Tired of missing you favorite T.V. shows when nature calls? Tired of having to get up in the middle of a meeting just so you can use the bathroom? Wish there was an easier way to take a leek? Now there is! With the Shark Mini Cathader! It's wisper quiet and fits in the palm of your hand!" I could go on for hours, but I wont... Colin C

I made cheddar cheese soup last night! Who wants some! Humm I wonder why they took those safety net support things off of Sheikra. They were supposed to be there for a net that cought flying objects, but sence NOTHING was completed for opening day, I guess they just got lazy and took em down. Also, they have changed the scoops on one or two of the trains to a box looking thing, kinda odd... Colin"I'm serious, Ill send you some soup"C

^ and^^ Okay, I can deal with having it take up a lot of memory when I record the video, but when I create the video the file is HUGE. I mean CEV6 has something like 20 videos or so on it and it's only about 5gb and its the same quality I get with a 900mb video! I dunno, but it just isnt making sence that one video of the same quality is 10x bigger than another video. Colin C

Wow thats a lot off stuff, and all of it sounds really cool! Some of the rides like Blackbird and Crazy legs sound odd to picture, but should be interesting. If anything, the Interactive Spray Ground sounds like more fun than all of those things to me! Although I like the lineup of rides, I think a HUSS Fly Away would also have been a good flat to put in aswell. So....SFOT only has one ride now? But anyways, good for SFOT. Colin C

Taking things on rides
TheStig replied to calcajun's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At CP this summer, this ride op named "Chad" stuck his hand in front of my camera because I was filming in the station. I told him I was going to put it in a zipper pocket and he said it was fine, but still wouldent let me film in the station! I mean, its not like im going to chuck my camera at a train as it pulls out of the station, and all I was really doing was getting the awsome toaster music on camera! But oh well, ride ops have to be strict and I understand.... Colin"But I do sneak my camera every now and then, tehe'C -
Well this is a question for anybody really, but what video captureing settings do you use when you upload your video from your camera to your computer? The reason I ask is that when I record my video to the compy, it takes up about 20 gigabites for 60 minutes of tape and it eating all my memory (160GB when new, now about 55). Also, when you create the video, I tend to get about 900mb-1.5gb for a 2 minute video at the highest playback quality, but if I use the second highest quality setting I get videos around 80-90mb but they are annoyingly fuzzy and look bad. So, what are some settings I could use to record and porduce videos without taking up all my memory? Oh I use Pinnacle 9 in case you needed to know. Thanks! Colin C

Man, speed monster looks really cool! Also, after reading some facts I noticed that it in only running three cars per train, and only running 2 trains. Although it might be a really cool ride, it's going to lack capacity by only launching 12 riders at a time. Still, it should be interesting... Colin C
