  1. I like to keep a count as a memento of what I've ridden and not actually trying to seem like a credit whore. My basing on how I see fit as a credit: Racing/Dueling Coasters I count as one ride. Even though Lightning Racer, the only dueling I've ridden, has two slightly different tracks, it's still one ride in my eyes. In the case of Batman and Robin Chiller, if I would have been able to have ridden both sides (have only ridden Robin) that would have counted as two since they are vastly different tracks (Batman's inverted top hat vs. Robin's cobra roll). Powered Coasters The only one I've ridden was Thunder Run at Canada's Wonderland and I do count it since it has coaster-type elements in it. I consider rides like Bayern Kurves as flat rides even though they are powered and run on a track. Relocated Coasters I do count X-Flight/Firehawk, Stealth/Nighthawk and Head Spin/Carolina Cobra as two separate rides. They are in different parks and I consider them a credit for their respective parks. Rethemed/Renamed Coasters Having ridden Medusa prior to its conversion I would not consider Bizarro as a new credit if I get the chance to re-ride it again. I do not count Evel Knievel/American Thunder as two separate rides. Turning the direction of travel from backwards to forwards like with the Cedar Fair racing coasters does not make it a new credit.
  2. I only have a Kings Island Gold Season Pass - good for free parking all season long and for early ride time on Beast and Diamondback. I do miss having a Six Flags season pass.
  3. I'm actually surprised they had kept Wildcat for as long as they did. Given it's recent history of accidents it was only a matter of time before it was gone. Plus it's one less ride they would have close during Luminosity. I enjoyed my years riding Wildcat though I had stopped riding it a long time ago. The slow moving line didn't make waiting for it worth my time and the small, cramped seating wasn't exactly comfortable as I got older. People have mentioned Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, and Disaster Transport should be removed next. Funny how no one mentioned Corkscrew even though it is one of CP's most iconic rides. It also has low ridership and old school Arrow loopers have started to leave the amusement landscape.
  4. Very happy to see the lighting return to Millennium Force like it was the first few years it opened. It really is the most stunning light show on any roller coaster. Now I can just imagine what Power Tower will look like when it gets its new lighting. CP will definitely have one of the more amazing night time skylines ever.
  5. The keyhole does look great. I wonder why the support behind it is yellow and black.
  6. Thank you for the tutorials. I'm guilty for making the spikes and launch track of the vertical shuttle loops too high and too long. This helped a lot. Looking forward to seeing more Schwarzkopf tutorial goodness from you.
  7. I always get some blue ice cream when I'm at Kings Island. Cedar Point also has a couple soft serve ice cream locations. What gets me at BGW is the great aroma you get when walking in Rhinefeld where the live band performs near the carousel when they are making fresh waffle cones. Maybe that's why soft serve is popular there.
  8. Chuck, don't give Six Flags any new ideas for Batman rides. This could be the name of a Batman themed Vekoma Boomerang/Invertigo. Actually I like boomerangs. The park looks good in those photos. I'm hoping to hit it for the first time this year even though I probably won't fit on Superman.
  9. As much as Comet Hollow looks cramped now with Skyrush I must say that the ride looks incredible.
  10. Not to stir up any trouble but why would you be upset when you've pretty much passed up a 1.5 to 2 hour line? What if your wait was also due to the ride breaking down? When I used a Gold Bot at Great Adventure in 2005 they let you in at the ride exit but instructed that I could sit anywhere except for the front. Batman at SFOG had the last two rows closed to Fast Lane riders last year (and I've read still do it this year). When Kings Island was under Paramount they had the special double ride days for Gold Pass members on certain rides but was limited to only certain seats or cars on a train and was clearly marked in the station. If this is going to be a problem, as stated in the report at Carowinds, then only certain seats/cars should be set aside for Fast Lane and properly marked so the GP knows what's going on.
  11. The only way CF can properly implement this system and not tick off people is to have the Fast Lane users just merge with the regular line before heading up to the ride platform like they did with the old Freeway system. They wouldn't be holding up loading trains. I only got to see it at Kings Island while waiting for Drop Tower and Diamondback, which are both people eaters anyway. My only problem with the program is they sell it when lines are short to non-existent all day, which happened a couple times last year. If people can't wait a meer ten-fifteen minutes in line then they have issues.
  12. Another park gets "Geauga'd" and it's a shame the owner has no interest in growing the amusement side of the park. Despite Six Flags being rather close it still seemed like a park with some potential. BTW I have never been to a park where the ride park had more people than the water park. For example I went to Dorney in 2005 and Wildwater Kingdom was slammed whereas Talon and the then brand new Hydra were walk ons.
  13. Cedar Point has never built two coasters in one season before and has only once added back to back coasters (Wicked Twister and Dragster). I personally can't see them doing that but there's a first time for everything.
  14. Even 50" height requirement is just about pushing a B&M out of "family friendly" range. Wouldn't surprise me if a custom Euro-fighter makes it to Holiday World, especially if it's anything like Dare Devil Dive at SFOG. However I could be wrong. Who would have thought a small park like HW would put in a monster like Voyage or something along the likes of Pilgrim's Plunge?
  15. The ride looks very good. Seems to fit well in its location and should offer ten times the visuals that you couldn't get at Great America.
  16. The so-called coaster wars between CP and SFMM are soooo 1990's/early 2000's that right now who cares which park has more coasters. It's all about the quality of the ride, not the quantity. Whatever 2013 may bring I'm sure it will be a noteworthy addition to their lineup.
  17. Steve, fantastic photos of Dollywood. They make me want to change my plans and go to Pigeon Forge this year. Thanks for sharing.
  18. They also have the newer logo on the main site that was posted on the previous page of this thread. Much cleaner looking than the old PARC logo with the coaster track. Though I find it annoying that they have the silhouette of IOA"s Hulk in the background.
  19. Thanks again for the photos. It looks pretty sparse in the kid's area. That used to be one of the largest sections of IXIAP. Out of curiosity does the Ferris Wheel have the no single rider's policy that many Ferris Wheels have adopted as of late? A little off topic but I think a permanent indoor park like Nick Universe at MoA would be a great idea for the Cleveland area. When the outdoor parks close the indoor park would open and run during the late fall/winter season. It would take good advantage of the Christmas holidays and give us something to do during the long off season.
  20. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I was looking through the "Mysterious Yellow B&M" thread of so long ago and I believe Ocean Park's Hair Raiser was manufactured at the Ohio plant. Same goes for Oz'Iris' blue track for Parc Asterix.
  21. ^^Now that CF is under Matt Ouimet it might be a different ball game altogether. We'll just have to wait and see. As for SF, didnt they say something about possibly reusing old names once again? With that in mind this might not even be a superhero/villain themed ride. They've re-used X-Flight so why not a new Shock Wave, Z Force, Serial Thriller, or Mindbender? As for parks the only one's that come to mind are Cedar Point, SFStL, and possibly SFOT. Any other major park in CF and SF has seen a new coaster within the last couple of years.
  22. Thank you so much for the wonderful X-Flight photos. The ride boldly changes County Fair and I like the many different angles we'll get to see and photograph this summer. These photos have raised my excitement and anticipation for this ride much, much higher than before.
  23. How much of the I-X Center does the carnival take up? I remember when it first opened it used to take up the whole building but when I went a few years ago it was at least half the size and the ride selection not as great. Did they bring the KMG Freak Out again this year? That has been, IIRC, the main attraction the past several years. I look forward to seeing the rest of your photos.
  24. Thanks for the updates, Chuck. Busch Gardens never disappoints and I love how they pay attention to all the little details to make each ride they put in fit in the themed area they put it in. Love the look of the trains, the decrepit covered bridge and the look of the area around the station.
  25. Those aerial shots of X Flight and SFGAm were simply awesome! Seeing them truly made my day. Thank you for posting them.
