984 evacuees just arrived in Memphis from New Orleans. For the first time in history, every road leading out of New Orleans will be for north-bound traffic. They're not even comparing this storm to Katrina... it's that much worse.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

The yellow doesn't make sense, but luckily it won't affect the ride experience! It's awesome to see it finally beginning to rise. -
I'm glad that they're not even offering shelters in New Orleans. Hopefully we won't see a scene like we saw at the Superdome.
-
Again, my movie has some information on the current situation of the levees if anybody is interested. They cannot withstand what Gustav is predicted to become. It's a simple as that.

^ I agree. God Bless the gulf coast. You've been through enough.

Theme Park Review's 2008 Asia Tour!
coasterdude5 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Very interesting update. I agree, the before and afters look very similar... I probably wouldn't notice the difference. I don't like Asian food so I'm glad to see french fries! It's safe for me to go to China now! Looking forward to more updates. -
Speaking out of character here, I'm sure everybody is aware of Hurricane Gustav by now. I have made the decesion that if Gustav damages New Orleans like Katrina did, Orleans Place Boardwalk will not continue or will be put on an extended hiatus. I am hoping for the best, but if the city is in the state it was after Katrina, focusing on building an entertainment center would not be a respectable thing to be doing. Again, I am hoping for the best. I just want everybody to know what to expect with this park. If it doesn't continue, I want to thank everybody for all of the kind compliments that they gave me. I really felt like I took a step up with this park. Update Pre-Opening Well, I'm about to head up north to my father-in-law's to weather out the storm. No telling what's going to happen to this place... Construction has, of course, been put on hold. The park's Boardwalk Inn is nearing completion. It looks very nice at night. I bet this area will provide some great views! The other side of the hotel is just as impressive. Very bright! They told me it shouldn't be this bright when the park opens. I still have some more shots leftover from the other night that I'll post later. God Bless New Orleans.

Is there any way it could miss New Orleans and other areas heavily affected by Katrina?
-
^ I'm not sure exactly... I've been through a few back when I lived on the coast but I'm not an expert. Some friends of mine in Orleans are leaving tomorrow...

Update Year 33 Aloha! New for Year 33 is a new show in the Zhambia Theater. I'm not sure what it's about, really - I haven't seen it yet. It's nice to see Bay Lake uncluttered... Now you can get a good view across it. It wasn't very crowded today. Octopus Overview of Octopus I wonder if this area will be home to a new ride... Tidal Wave has been getting a bit rough lately. The volcano is blocking Oronga! It's always great to see the faces of people as they're about to get soaked. More soon! -
Katrina - Three Years Later In a matter of hours, it will have been three years since Hurricane Katrina made landfall. With the threat of another storm in the coming weeks, the feelings of Katrina are all-too familiar for gulf coast residents. Katrina changed this area forever. It takes about 30 years to fully come back from a storm like Katrina. It's only been 1/10th of that. The city is making great strides to return to what it once was, but the process is slow in some areas. Some areas of the city, as you could see in the movie, have not rebuilt. They sit lifeless and in some cases, untouched. I encourage you to take a mission trip to New Orleans or anywhere along the gulf coast if you have the opportunity to. Just rebuilding one house will make a huge difference for one family. one person. one soul. As New Orleans faces the threat of another hurricane, all we can do at this time is pray for the best... - Watch: Youtube: Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPnnXfW2xW8 Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1Yy76qwdPU Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdwE2LLiduQ Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exe1iYV42fA Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfuwA4ZpFRM Part 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iemRQpkVI4k Part 7: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82CqdLNk6wU Part 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCHorJvhUyY Part 9: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24xgJR7qCR0 Vimeo: - Download: Megaupload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DXOWV4ZI

I'm very worried about New Orleans... One of the people I interviewed in my Katrina documentary, who was a police officer at the time and performed several rescues, said that all the city needs to flood again is a small Category 1 or 2 storm. The drainage system simply can't take any more. So if this turns out to be a Category 3 there's really no telling...

Yeah, something doesn't feel right with Gustav... Tomorrow is the three-year anniversary of Katrina. SFNO has been closed for three years now... If you haven't seen it yet, check out my Katrina documentary: www.katrina.coaster101.com -
^ LMAO. I don't know if England has Chick-fil-A's, but that's a good place for 14 year olds to work. (or is it 15?)

Hello, I have decided to release short videos during the week... in between the killings... to give you some... "input" on the killings at hand. Somewhat like a State Address... Feel free to watch the first installment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p544JKrOuQs - Mr. Owen -

Update Year 9 Hola! Como esta? The park was very crowded today! There was a steady flow of guests throughout the day. Several of the park's restaurants were booked for a majority of the day. Mas, pronto!
