Thanks Robb - I'll try to make it even crazier than yours next carnival I hit up. -
Since my last fair trip report didn't get such a great response, I thought I'd go back to the regular style of narrating for the next carnival I went to. The local carnival came for our town festival and I was there to see what PBJ "Happee" Days had to offer. One year they had a Moby Dick falling-star-type ride that was actually pretty awesome so I wanted to see what they had this year. It's sizzlin. Haha, Mexicans are awesome. I love Memphis. Honey, ain't this the best honeymoon you ever been on? Cool carnival! During this part of the ride, at the very top, I started getting a charlie horse at the top of my leg. My natural instinct told me to stand up. But I couldn't. It was very painful. 200 cars this year! "Hey, uh, could you stop giving us cancer?" They got bumper cars, too! Whoosh. I just killed my eyes. Someone's clothes in this picture do not fit them - can you guess who? See, you can make a decent shot in any situation. Hey, one of them balloon rides is here. You could walk up and touch the ferris wheel - see that Cedar Fair, Six Flags, etc., this is hands-on interactivity! It's kinda creepy. Yeah, that's pretty much it.

I've wanted a german shepherd as long as I can remember. However, the want for one re-ignited when I saw I Am Legend last year. So I set out on a "mission" - to have a german shepherd before the end of 2008. I planned everything very carefully. I had to - we had two dogs already so I knew my parents wouldn't be very open to another one. I began in early July, dropping small hints about german shepherds. Both of my parents are dog-lovers, so they weren't too slow in catching on. Somebody seemed to keep dropping german shepherds everywhere I went. At the mexican restaurant, in New Orleans, in the car next to us going to the doctor, it was becoming very obvious I was meant to have one. But it didn't come without hard work, I read up on countless german shepherd books and websites. I was a german shepherd expert by the time summer vacation ended. But as school started and my focus shifted to my studies, the idea of having a german shepherd slowly drifted to the back of the old brain. I was planning to go to the Memphis dog show next month but I wasn't expecting my parents to randomly shell out $700 for a new dog. But today I went with the family to our town's yearly festival. My mom joked that I might see a shepherd and I did - there was a cool guy there with one who was training one to be a search-and-rescue dog. Later in the day I came across our animal shelter's tent and I decided to take a quick look - I usually don't find german shepherds in animal shelters. But my attention was direct to the back. Where there were two puppies (sisters). One my mom and I were especially drawn to. At first I didn't get too excited but then when I saw my mom pulling the "Aw, she is just precious... she's beautiful" move, I knew she was ours. We coaxed our dad which took a while, but he agreed and we filled out the papers. I had been thinking of names over the summer and I decided to name her Lucy.

Update Year 10 Hola! Our tenth year has proven to be very successful. Leyenda across the lake... It's always fun to be able to go under Avispa's towering supports. Mas, pronto! -
AND THEN THERE WERE NONE - TPR SURVIVOR EDITION THIS WEEK WE SAY GOODBYE TO coasterfreak101. Hello there forum goers, it is I, Mr. U. N. Owen. You may know me for killing ten people who escaped punishments for committing their own murders. Or you may just know me for being partially insane. But I know that you know how much I hate liars. Think about it for a second - liars ruin everything! For more information: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45020 You may know some of these people for their hilarious remarks... their quick-witted replies... or their random trip reports.... It is your job to decide who dies first! Hahaha! Fun, isn't it? Each week a new poll will be posted and you will ultimately choose who dies first and who dies last. Vote for who you want to die! Here's a little information on the people I've captured: Wes Wes has been accused of supplying large amounts of PMW to patrons at amusement parks, and then coaxing them to go into restricted areas to get his hat. CTU Agent Tyler is a sexy stud that girls constantly seem to want to fornicate with. However, most girls eat mayo and if mayo is in their stomach then he will die. As Superman's only weakness is kryptonite, Tyler's only weakness is mayo. That said, Tyler makes Superman look like a little bitch. Chyeah. Carnage Paul recently founded his own country, Canaba. With his new found dipolomatic imunity, he trades W for P&M. socalMAN123 Brent: The youngest member of the TPR Survivor, he has consistently out-performed people 10 years older than him. The most agile of the contestants, he can prove once again that he can outlast. mcjaco Matt - Protector of EPCOT, dishes out pain with a pleathora of Eric Idle insults, binge drinking, and rides on Iron Wolf. Give him a skunky beer, and face a wrath of evil you'll not likely live through. natatomic As one of only 4 or 5 girls on TPR, natatomic is wanted for not putting out nearly enough, as should be her female duty. She is also wanted for questioning regarding rumors of being a Republican. It all makes sense, now, doesn't it? Remember - vote for who you wanted killed off this week!

Update Year 36 Welcome back! The park is in its 36th season. Nothing new this year, but supposedly next year will be the park's "comeback" year. I wonder where next year's "comeback" attraction will be... It would be great if the ride interacted with Mount Hershey River Rapids. Twizzler Turnover... Reflections have made alot of good photo ops for this park! As have the trees! What a view... Tantalus! Thanks for everything. -

Update Year 10 Hola! Como estas? We are getting closer and closer to the end of our tenth season! It's still a few weeks off, however. The park's tallest ride is none other than Avispa! Very peaceful back here... Mas, pronto! -
Um, if they assumed it was gonna happen, then they wouldn't have built it in Myrtle Beach. And many people do travel to South Carolina.....to play golf. Again, Nashville, Austin, even Atlanta or SoCal. Memo to Hard Rock management: if you're gonna be centered around music/music history, then a city with a thriving music scene might help a bit with your demographics. Just a thought. Nashville would have been a great place. Yeah, it's mostly country music, but it could've been Opryland 2.0!

Bible Park USA

If they can make it successful, great. However, I think they're going to have a hard time marketing a "bible" park without coming off as a Christian-only. If you lived in the Middle East as a christian, would you go to "Qur'an Park"? -

The school project idea actually crossed my mind yesterday. Luckily I've got some "connections" so hopefully I can put those to use for once. The carousel was sold to the city. I think. It's changed hands a couple times but it's still inside the park. -
And Then There Were None
coasterdude5 replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
And Then There Were None Chapter 5 After finding what was left of Mr. Roger's body, the remaining group became less and less sane. They began to turn desperate for an answer. Ms. Brent accused each and every one of them as being the murderer. Mr. Lombard suggested that the group stay together at all times with only one leaving at a time. Ms. Clayton agreed that staying together at all times would be the smartest option. Mr. Wargrave found an old jeep behind the shack that, by chance, still had some gas in it. Ms. Clayton tried to convince Ms. Brent to go with them. However, Ms. Brent felt she would be safer alone at the shack. The group began to drive down a dirt road... hopefully to a town. They told Ms. Brent they would send someone to get her later. Ms. Brent did not live long. Five rifles were place across the pond. The jeep didn't make it very far, leaving five people left alive. All becoming paranoid... -

Today I had the chance once again to see what was left of Libertyland. I was curious as to how they were using it during the Mid-South Fair which is going on right now. What did they have in the entrance plaza? A hardcore rock band. Right in front of the entrance. Very degrading. Then you've got a nearly 100-year old coaster sitting out back untouched for nearly three years. Memphis is screwed up beyond belief. But my goal is to get inside the park before I graduate (with permission, of course). We first went to a security guard who knew nothing. Then we went to a Mid-South Fair information person who said it wasn't likely, but that I should go to the MSF office and ask. So I made the trek over there and according to them they no longer have any control of it - the Memphis Parks Commission owns it. They gave me a business card so hopefully all is not lost... Thanks for reading. This is as close to "the inside" as you can get. This was a cool shot of the Pippin. No idea who these two people are. This was the signature shot of Revolution. I believe it's now sitting in a field somewhere in Pennsylvania... They had some cool photos of Libertyland up in the Creative Arts building. This was the original Libertyland logo. You can see it in the bottom of this picture. You can see Zippin Pippin was around in 1930. It looked pretty cool. Let's see what we can find in here... The octogonal building was the season pass building. You can see Independance Station from this point. It gave me chills to see the "readmission and season pass" signs still up. All of the buildings in the park are still standing. Libertyland is still clearly visible, so I'm not sure what they accomplished my removing the letters. The entrance gate looks about the same way it did the day the park closed. (minus the Libertyland sign) -
Hey y'all. I'm Farmer Stink R. Bell Joe I just done got back from the Mid-South Fair. Ya see, the thang about this fair is that that it's gone be the last time it's at the Mid-South Fairgrounds! They gone move to Tunica "Casino Country" Mississippi. I don't think Ma is gonna give me enough money to drive all the way down yonder! Anywhos, this year's fair was pretty durn boring if I can say so myself! Where was the animal poop? The bad smells? These things make up this fair! Good thing they had some good ole fashioned carnival rides like ma and pa used to take me on when I was a young'n. Onto the pitures. I done gone rode it all by my self! Let's go get some ice cream, ma. DAWGIES! WHOA.... She's purty boobs. I heard this was that Mount Everest everybody's been talkin' bout. They started do painting their cans. Ma and Pa just reuse the old water heater as our trash can. She's atill a loomin over yonder. No I don't wanna play for a stuffed animal - what do I look like a four year old girl? This ride looks to be about 500 feet tall. That's just my estimatedtions. It goes fast! It's 4365 inches tall which equals 10543 feet. Yeah, Ma always said I was a tough fixin. It sure is a purty coaster. Funny story about this ride: I hate spinnin' (I get it from my Pa). But I wanted to get on a rollie coaster, so I done prepared myself for it. Though for some reason my mouse didn't done gone spin at all! I done gone lucked out. This is what the ride looks like tilteder. FIREBALL! I hope I don't get burned hee hee hee hee cough cough. Dang I need two more of them tickets! They want my money! Well they ain't gonna get none of my ma's money! She worked hard for that money! It goes high! We gonna go spinning time fast flashing colors! They ain't gonna charge me no five dollars for four ticket for one ride on Mega Drop! The hotdog is a comin'! There she blows... No one's chicken on a stick ain't gonna beat my grandmomma jimmy's chicken on a stick! Darnit, they're sellin' ma and pa's vacation home! I wunder what the purpose of this lock is? Shoot, I feel like I've done been transported to Dollywerd! Now this is where the smell is! Livestock. These might be my cousins working here! Lemme go take a look-see right quick.
