Forst Files-Nicole's park adventures
cfc replied to sspaz1000's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like Screamin' Swings, but they are pretty drun scary. I have yet to ride Boulderdash. -
European Trip Park List
cfc replied to better_by_design's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I also agree with Larry's list (particularly Europa, Tivoli, Grona Lund, and Liseberg). And you should visit Paris Disney, even though it has a checkered reputation. It is a must for Disney fans. -
Busch Gardens Williamsburg (BGW BGE) Discussion Thread
cfc replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just noticed that Busch Gardens has launched a Web site dedicated to Verbolten. You'll find the ride's layout, the backstory of Gerta and Gunter, and other info there. -

I had no idea Perkins and Marie Callendar's were connected. -

When BGW opened DarKastle, I waited about 3.5 hours (huge crowd plus technical problems with the ride), and by the time I exited, the line stretched all the way to Alpengeist. I think this was on a Sunday. I'd anticipate a pretty hefty lines for Verbolten on opening day and for that weekend. There is a Quick Queue option that will allow one ride per day on Verbolten this season, but I have no idea if this will apply to opening day. -
Nemesis - really only 3gs?
cfc replied to caffeine_demon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I like both, although I agree that the original Nemesis is the better of the two (hell, I think it's the best ride B&M ever built). -

Yu got 25 bucks from me--even if you are a defector from the Kings Dominion group! -

^Kidsville could definitely use a good freshening up, and a Planet Snoopy makeover would be ideal. It would be nice if they did something fun with the old Treasure Cave, too. -

One thing I forgot to mention--they were letting guests shamble through the DarKastle "preshow" room, again. I'm not sure why, but they had temporary-looking stanchions and ropes in there, too. -

Are you sure that crane isn't just there to protect the park from the Godzilla-sized Buzz Lightyear? Good to see that there may be some progress on the Ratatouille ride. -
When I signed up for the UK trip in 2006 and had to come up with a screenname for TPR, I drew a blank, so I just went with my initials--cfc.

NEWS: The London Dungeons to move
cfc replied to spinning man's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Putting the three attractions closer together makes sense to me. The only Dungeon attraction I've visited was the one in Edinburgh, which is right next to the train station. It was cheesy, but fun--a good way to kill time while waiting for a train to London. -

^I thought Drive was interesting--sort of an "existential" film noir thing. Albert Brooks was great as a rather odd gangster.

It's been quite windy down here, too. -

I was wondering how Toy Story Mania was going to fit in with the American Waterfront section, but the trolley park idea makes perfect sense--a nice addition that fits with the era that section evokes. Once again, DisneySea is showing why it's the best theme park ever. -

Yes, it has been unusually chilly in Virginia today. -
Well that sucks. Not to diss any military aficionados, but something more solid would have better suited the permanent nature of a roller coaster installation while still capturing the spirit of a hangar (refer to the preliminary renderings). I'm not bothered by it, if it fits in well with the rest of the ride.
