  1. ^The huge dessert didn't look too shabby, either.
  2. Sierra Nevada Torpedo
  3. ^Apollo's Chariot, as a rule, doesn't require that many "clicks."
  4. How does Lightning Run compare with a Mega Lite? Conceptually, looks like the same idea, by a different company... which is great, as Mega Lites have sadly gotten no respect here in the US. Also, Deep Water Dive: Unsubscribe. I'm crazy, but I'm not that crazy. Full respect for Kentucky Kingdom for building that, and it IS sad they haven't gotten more press about it, but not way am I getting on that thing. I would give the edge to the Mega Lites, thanks to their somewhat more "refined" performance and design (they look much more "elegant"). But Lightning Run matches them in the airtime department.
  5. Well, nomenclature, track style, and trains aside, Junker looks like a great reason to return to PowerPark.
  6. I wonder if that is something that would be an easy fix or if it would take a lot of programming work. For example, It's not like you can just turn up the dialogue on movies to be louder than the effects audio, as opposed to something like a modern video game where you can. I guess it would depend on if they created the audio track separately from the video track. I'd just like to say that your negativity on this forum bothers me. Your home park just built a multi-million dollar dark ride, and yet you come in here with a ton of negativity. It's just really annoying... Please don't talk crap on the ride until you at least ride it yourself. I get that you aren't happy with how your home park has grown over the past few daces or whatever, but at least you have HW, WOF, SDC, KK, KI, SFGAm, and a ton of other awesome Mid West parks within driving distance... I'm over three hours away from any theme park, and most at that distance are nothing to write home about. Life's better when you focus on the positives and stop complaining about what you don't have... That absolutely applies to theme parks and this hobby. Cheer up, brother! In other news, the ride looks amazing, I hope my local-ish SF parks build one of these things soon! Not once did I bash the ride. I can't help it that you COMPLETELY misinterpreted my post that I specifically worded NOT to offend anyone, especially HWfan who provides us with so much information. Nor do I give a crap about what you think. Thanks for the tip coach, but I'm perfectly happy with how I live my life. Curse of DarKastle at Busch Gardens Williamsburg had issues with audio when it first opened, too, but the park fixed the problem. Most new rides, especially complex dark rides, need a fair amount of tweaking after they open. Prozach and chickenbowl, you two should definitely not talk to each other for a while. Just a word of advice from your Friendly Neighborhood Site Moderator. Thank you.
  7. ^Sundays usually aren't super busy, although Volcano always ends up with a long line.
  8. ^Hmm--haven't tried that place. Might have to check it out the next time I visit TDS.
  9. ^She has not aged well.
  10. It also seemed to lack any sort of "action."
  11. Looks like a cool family coaster. The audio before the backward launch is a nice touch.
  12. ^Also true--Williamsburg is a popular weekend getaway for DC folks. I think the big difference is that KD gets more "day trippers," while BGW gets longer-term guests (thanks to being in a tourist area).
  13. ^I doubt that either park considers the other a "threat." KD pulls much of its trade from DC/northern Virginia, Maryland, and the Richmond, while BGW draws on tourists visiting the Historical Triangle, Viriginia Beach, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina (along with a pretty loyal group of locals).
  14. ^Thanks for the clarification regard the park's location. My brother and I spent some time in Edinburgh, St. Andrews, and Glasgow during that trip.
  15. "Jet Silver and the Dolls of Venus"--Be Bop Deluxe
  16. I visited Scotland and spent a few days in Edinburgh back in 2004, but had no idea this park existed. (Well, we were kind of busy with other stuff.)
  17. She went way overboard on the "gotcha" stuff. I felt like I was watching the British equivalent of Bill O'Reilly.
  18. I came up with the same number earlier for Team TPR, but hadn't bothered with the other groups. The results are amazing!
