Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

I was expecting two hammerheads to distinguish from their hypers I'm sure it will be a fun ride, but I'll wait for reviews to decide if I should take a trip up to Canada. -

The Most Shocking Ride Removals
Astrojack replied to Kingsislandfreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When Kennywood announced the removal of the Steel Phantom I was shocked and upset. It was my favorite ride and remember riding it 9 times in a row since there was never a line for it. But after riding other Arrow loopers over the past few years, I'm glad it's gone. -

Great trip report and pictures Looking forward to the rest. Magnum can be painful if you sit over the axels, that's why I only ride it in the middle seat. -
I've been having a lot of fun with the new MK. I'm glad there's so much to do in the game since the PSN has been down. It's amazing how people protested the first MK for the violence and I haven't heard anything about this game. Definitely one of the most brutal games I have ever played. Even the Krypt reminds me of the Saw movies

I used to skateboard in high school and college, tempted to start it up again just for something to do this summer. And I love metal/hardcore music. It's pretty rare in general to find people who like hardcore music. My ex hated when I played my music in the car, but he got into a few mudvayne, disturbed, and five finger death punch songs. Anything with to much screaming and he would turn if off :\

You can renew your Cedar Point pass online. That's what I did and was able to attend KD last weekend Just go to CP's website and click on season passes, you should see Renew pass when you scroll down. You can ignore my post. I misread Philrad71's post thinking he bought a 2010 pass last year. -
Cedar Point ERT at Night
Astrojack replied to coastermaniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In 2009 I did TTD ERT at night and got on the ride 7 times in that hour. A few people got a lot more rides since they kept running and were single riders. By the end of the night they let us walk up the handicap ramp instead of walking all the way around. I also did a Maverik ERT in 2009 but only rode it 3 times because of sun burn on my shoulders. It was a station wait the whole hour. Milllenium Force ERT last year was on a Friday. The line was pretty much a station wait during the day. And the night ERT extended past the unload station a few times. I still got to ride it 5 times in the hour. I plan to attend MF's ERT this year since it is a fun perk and always have a good time. -

Guess I'll finally post my review on I305. Last year I only got to ride i305 with the trims, and while I knew the coaster was holding back some of the speed, I really enjoyed the ride. But know the ride has one of the best first hills, awesome airtime hill, and amazing speed that feels like the coaster never has the chance to slow down until the 3rd hill. You can really feel the G's going around the turn now, but they ease up some(clear vision) when your about 1/2 -3/4 into the inclined turn. I'd say the turn is a bit more intense now then it was with the trims. People who liked, enjoyed, or already loved I305 will love the new changes. People who hated on I305 because of the boring layout or grey outs will probably still complain about it. I personally loved the new version. I just hate how KD is 6 hours away and probably won't beable to ride I305 again until next year. I just hope they keep the trims off, since everyone needs to experience this ride at it's full potentinal. -

I'll be taking the 6 hour journey down there tomorrow afternoon. Going to the park all day Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday -
I guess it depends on what you are considering akward. Akward as your afraid he'll hit on you, people will assume your gay since you hang around with him, or that you will say something that might offend him? I'm sure you two are best friends for a reason other then talking about girls. He came out to you since he feels he can trust you with one of his biggest secrets. And I'm sure he knows of some of problems he may face in high school once others find out. When I first came out to my friends, there was a bit of akwardness, but as we continued to hang out it's just like old times now. Two of my friends were more upset that they heard I was gay from other people then directly from me. But if you want to be his friend. I'd suggest having a talk with him. Let him know you have been feeling a little akward ever since he came out, but that you want to overcome the akwardness so you can continue being best friends. I'm sure he can see things haven't been right between you two since he told you. And that he hopes he didn't lose a friendship over it.

I can't wait for Mortal Kombat. Just played the demo last night and really enjoying the game. I'm so glad the living forest has a stage fatality. I remember growing up saying I want the trees to eat the players

I have a 5x5 Rubik's Cube and can only solve one side. It kept me entertained on my flight over to Singapore. And haven't touched it since. I started yo-yoing again after posting on this thread and my string broke about 15 min into it. Glad I found some extra string
-
Cool thread I've been yo-yoing off and on ever since I had to stand on a chair to throw a sleeper (string was to long for for a kid). Before the yo-yo boom I was able to do the trapeze, double or nothing, and a few other tricks. I didn't start doing advanced tricks until I bought a green henry viper. I quit for a few years when I got in skateboarding and didn't start yo-yoing again until college. I then picked up Astrojax and contact juggling. For my birthday two years ago, my bf bought me a blue henry viper (reminds me of Millenium Force) since he knew I let someone use my green one sevearl years ago and they did walk the dog in the sand Screwed up the bearings. I wish I had youtube growing up since I learned a few new tricks on my bday. Kwijibo is a really cool looking trick I learned that night. Anyone have any experience with yo-yos you need to bind in order for them to return? I need to get into yo-yoing again, but hard to do since my apartment is a bit to cramped.

Congrats I wish you two the best of luck.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Astrojack replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Early entry is nice at the beginning of the season since you have about a station wait for each ride. As the season goes on it's not uncommon to see Maverick with a full queue within 20 minutes of ERT or MF with an hour+ wait. Last year I made two trips to CP spending 3 days in the park each trip and had the worst early time experiences all 4 days we did early entry. First trip of the season was beginning of June and we ran to Maverick. We had a one train wait for the front seat and it broke down. Took about a 1/2 hour to get it started again. We jogged to MF and noticed we didn't see it run while we were heading towards it. The line looked to be about about 30-40 min wait. So we decided to hit up Raptor since it's always reliable when I'm at the park and it was a walk on Next day we wanted to hit up MF to try to ride it a few times before the ERT line got to long. The line extended out of the station and we waited for the back. They only had two trains running since the yellow train was still on the transfer track. We were next to ride until they decided to transfer the yellow train on. They tested the train before letting us on the next train. Everyone buckled up then we had to get off since there was some sort of issue. There was about a 45-50 minute delay because when they finally let us back on it was already a few minutes after 10. The next two early access trips were just crowded but atleast all the rides were working on time I understand rides break down or that there can be massive crowds for early entry, but I just wanted to inform people who plan on booking a CP hotel for early access. I heard a lot of resort people complaining that they wasted their money for broken down rides and long waits for 'their' exclusive hour. Just hope it doesn't rain in the morning like the time I booked a Breakers Express room just for the ERT. But the past 4 years I have been buying a Plat pass so a crowded ERT, broken down rides, or rain doesn't bother me any more I just feel sorry for my friend since he has yet to experience an ERT when all rides are walk ons for that whole hour. -
Fractured my left ankle while skateboarding. Was on my growth plate and the Doctor kept saying I might need surgeory. Luckily I didn't need it.

I still need to pick up Dead Space 2, but LBP2 has been keeping me busy.

I still need to talk myself into joining TPR so I can attend these events. Looks like a lot of fun.
