  1. Looks like they also placed in the the lift cable
  2. Thank you for the great photos... I hardly ever see a thread on here covering Six Flags Mexico in detail. I was excited to check out the photos. I must say I am impressed with the look of the park. I hope to visit it one day! Now only I could find some up-date quality videos. I would love to see more photos of SFM as well. Thanks again!!! P.S. how were SFM's flat ride package? Also, does that superman (A Morgan) actually give real ejector air time? Or just more-so than your typical morgan? (I've been on Steel force and Mamba. While not as intense as intimiin hypers, IMO, ((didn't care much for Mamba)) Steel Force was plenty fun.
  3. Can someone explain how, the coast will be secure if its not going to be attached (penetrate the pier itself). It sounded as if this ride will have no footers. So does it just rest ontop of the pier? I've seen rides like carnival rides build upon a steel base frame which rests on pieces of lumber (like wild mouses, etc..) but not one that is in an area that gets Hurricanes...
  4. LOL... end of the race for him i guess
  5. ^I agree, clearly maintenance has been lacking the same fix it attitude some of the great operating parks have. I believe that this is the one area where the park is being held back, but not necessarily their intent, more so because of monetary constraints. However (Just my Opinion, no mal-intent), I must say, you cannot single this park out for some if not most of the rides you mentioned. Iron Eagle: (don't care how well you maintained it, it is simply plagued, My favorite ride!!! but I remember it getting stuck up side down several times, do know of many parks who have them anymore, so SFA was not alone) Krypton Comet: nearly all parks have removed theirs, can't fault SFA for doing the same. (Chain decision) Octopus: a great ride but after the accident (one can understand why its gone) not alot of parks still have them in the chain, I know SFGAm still has theirs! Avalanche: dated ride, While I'm sure it could have been maintained better, its also a ride where I feel I could understand it being taken out. AT SFNE, Kontiki, now only goes forward, doesnt even go backwards, and it not the most popular ride at SFNE either, wouldn't be surprised if SFNE takes theirs out one day too. The Tilt: (LOVE THESE and I feel there are rare at Six Flags park) but a dated ride yet again, I can why it was time to go. Sky Escaper:... I miss this ride (that whole middle sections of that park for that matter) But then again, SFGAdv even took theirs out and a few others. The are still some out there but not at parks I visit. Maintain them as well as you want but I just think eventually, rides meet their maker. Skull Mountain!: There was no also no helping unless you did a complete overhaul of the system. The ROI of such job would not benefit the park, The turn-tables did not do much justice except for eliminate the problems with the turntables, the ride system was the true issue. Two Face (Tear drop): Bad Media reuined the rep of the ride. Even if they fix the problems, the damage was done. Even CGA removed theirs after similar trouble. I could go on and on about the uniqueness of every ride at that park. Some rides are just plagues from the day they are born. Everyone can name some. Its just unfortunate SFA has got some many of these types and still has a few in my opinon. Batwing for one! Some rides just are plagued with downtime, and the fixes are just not going to justify a good ROI. Batwing's only downtime cure is a complete system overhaul and upgrade. I also don't think it's fair to say that park doesn't want to fix their rides. Money is the problem here and they are only allotted but so much. With what I have said about some rides like BATWING and Skull Mountain, which rides do u think eat up a bunch of money? Yet the park has to allocate to maintain the whole park best they can. You can just spend it all on one ride. In a perfect world Corporate would just make money grow on trees but they don't. This park does best they can with what little they have. I am sure its frustrating but I appreciate their effort. SFA Had TONS of flats and still has an ok number. I think SFGAdv needs more flats than SFA does. I just dont think I would go as far as to talk bad on this park and single it out, you'd need to talk about other parks in the chain just as much.
  6. Use the Search Function or go on the kingsdominion website
  7. Will be done in no time! http://www.sixflags.com/greatAmerica/rides/xflight.aspx
  8. New pictures on the park website's construction page www.sixflags.com/newengland
  9. Falling Star is still there next to Wild One and Tower of Doom providing fun to guest.
  10. It will most likely be reused and based on the overlay the entry portal will be pretty much right where this recent picture was taken. Right near Pirates Flight (flat ride). SFAfans.com
  11. I've been following but am no where near as excited as I am about Leviathan. B&M is bulding something they haven't before and that's 300ft. Leviathan, Shambhala seems like "been there done that", a few ft. difference in Europe for the tallest coaster. So I'd blame Leviathan, not TPR for the lack of excitement in North America. I'm sure I'll become more interested when the testing and ride reviews come in.
  12. New Picture... still no vertical but shouldn't be long... looks like all footers are finished. This should go up relatively quick.
  13. X-flight has been topped out check out the webcame on the website
  14. Could it be an S&S Screamin' Swing?
  15. Cyclone at Six Flags New England was had its first drop reprofiled and the last year had several segments of track re done with steel topper track.
  16. One this for sure, Holiday World sure knows wooden coasters so does this mean twisted twins has a chance?
  17. I do not for a second believe that EVERY park will be giving up a coaster. I couldn't see SFFT giving up Poltergeist. We need to factor another six flags trend which has be Retrofitting rides and marketing them as new! So in being fairly sure that Rattler will get the New Texas Giant Treatment, I think SFFT is safe from loosing a ride. I think that some parks will be donors in exchange for a new ride and some parks will simply be recipients. ^I have also heard the story of Apline Bobs rumored to be going out... also keep in mind that the wild mouse at SFNE was supposed to go to TGE... But things changed. They could just get something new! La Ronde has two inverted coasters... They just got Ednor (but I wouldn't forgive SF if they took out a B&M for a Vekoma) but maybe they'd get rid of Cobra? Cobra to TGE?
  18. I just going to go one a whim... remember the rides that didn't make out of AstroWorld ... I'm talking about Batman and Ultra Twister... UT suffered because it was damaged when it was taken down... but even that ride I feel would've given the GP something to be happy about (being that it was unique and different) and given some kind of boost at SFA (might be hard to believe but I just believe that it would) on the same token, Say Six Flags didn't send Batman (standup) to Darien Lake and instead sent it to SFA... I feel like it would have the same positive boost that I anticipate Apocalypse will have at SFA. Sad that both rides are now just scrap. My point is, in todays market, and in the Maryland, D.C., and Viriginia market in general, GP is spoiled and they love new rides and will flock to it. Its about perception of the GP vs. a small percentage of park goers like us coasters fans. I just believe that the "newness factor" is relative. I still think about Dominator and Kings Dominion and people love it .... you hardly would ever hear anyone talk about how it used to be owned by Six Flags or any mention of Geagua lake. Also, I don't think the rotation program is couterproductive unless you took out the the top 3 star attractions. Just personal opinion but I don't think that a park like Great Adventure would ever factor or believe that someone would refuse to get a season pass because Bizarro is gone (especially if they replace it with a wing rider or new coaster).... But even if it's not immediately replaced I'd still get a pass and frequent the park for Toro, KK, and Nitro, GL among the others.
  19. Aerial Pic of Stinger at Dorney Park... from flyingphill Pic 24 More: http://flyinphilsflighthighlights.blogspot.com/2011/12/from-flight-on-sunday-december-11-2011.html http://flyinphilsflighthighlights.blogspot.com/2011/12/from-flight-on-sunday-december-11-2011.html
  20. The way i see it is as follows... For parks where you are not certain to get a big Return On Investment (ROI) a relocated ride is best until the attendance figures start to trend higher than they have in recent years. On other hands, the BIG 4, are pretty much certain to return profit on their investment. So an old ride like Bizarro can help boost attendance at a smaller park and in a sense profit for less money.... Seems like a strategy to me. It wouldn't seem smart to continue to neglect parks, you will just end up loosing money and the parks that make money will end up paying for the deficit.
  21. Molemaster, in my opinion I don't think it's any different. I think regardless of whether a SF park got a Cloned Floorless vs. a moved floorless, A ride like Bizarro is a decent ride and could do wonders for a smaller park like SFA. SFA has all the land for tons of rides so I say move it... I know it will be received well by the locals. It would just suck loosing such a unique ride in the area. However I could see another park like SFStl, SFFT, or SFOT really get some use out of a flying coaster as there's no flyers in the MIDwest region except for SFGAm which is kind of far away. I think it be a great move. Honestly wouldn't be opposed to Bizarro or Scream(sfmm) being relocated... as I don't think they seem kind of redundant (layout wise)... to the other B&M layouts already in the park... Scream to riddler and batman as Bizarro to Lantern and Batman.
  22. I have heard the same rumor. I have stated before that I Bizarro at SFGAdv did not have the impact that they had hopped. The throughput is still not as high as they expected for the ride as there still isn't much of a line. Unless during frightfest. I've heard its in the rotation program. I've stated that I could see it going to SFA because I've heard that Batwing is also a candidate to be moved. I've heard SFGAdv would get a Wing Coaster and replace Bizarro, while Bizarro could go and replace Batwing (which hey at least it would be right next to S:ROS) and Batwing will get updated trains and systems and go another park that would have a greater ROI than at SFA.
  23. Can't wait to ride! Glad vertical construction is underway.
  24. RCDB calls iSpeed a Blitz coaster like Maverick... I didn't ever consider iSpeed a accelerator. Has a Different launch system wasn't sure if LSM is capable of launching to 100+mph in the same amount of time as hydraulics so I didn't think to put in the same family (although is has a spectacular and very promising layout).
