Busch Gardens/Water Country, VA

These seems like a big whine out for nothing. He's posted on travel review sites and most likely on other forums in an attempt to get his pathetic GP way. -
Roller Coaster Train Replicas
mightbeawannabe replied to Intamin10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Do you have a picture of the actual product? I do see your model is exquisite, but how'll we know how well you will replicate the same quality in reality? That's the question that needs to be answered- Right now it seems like an unsupported claim...but I'm certain they'll be great pieces. -
The Classical Music Thread

No takers? Honestly? Bummer. I thought at least 1 person would comment. Guess not.. -
I've found a shorter vacation at All-Star Music for $4674.12 (USD) from 7.1.12 to 7.11.12. -2 adults and 2 children (6 & 11) -10 days+park hopper+waterpark -Magic Your Way dining plan -Magic Express with wheelchair lift for your wife Not including flights of course. And the cost changed by $1700 when I moved it one day... I don't know if you're still looking though...

I would advise the same. There's buses every 10 minutes to almost any place on property, monorails to get to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, boats across the lagoon-it's the total package. I found it to be extremely convenient. And after a day or so you figure it all out. I think you could do an All-Star/PopcCentury hotel. Those are the cheapest, and the next ones up are Port Orleans Riverside/French Quarter, Coronado Springs, and Caribbean Beach Resort (I think those are all from the next step up?). There are some really good deals for a week or longer at most hotels.

Was this the tip-off to your parents? I don't know how aware my parents actually are of me, and I'm really glad I don't care. If I did I would've worried myself into a puddle.

Theme Park Review in JAPAN! 2011
mightbeawannabe replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I finally got it all read. And WOW. Japan looks better and better with each picture! I love the instructions on the toilet too! Very Japanese! And now I wanna meat pig.. -
I say you should definitely hit up Universal. It's an amazing place, there's not many coasters but they're all very good. I don't know how long you'd like to stay there, but I'd say a day and a half is good. Do a full day at IOA and a half at Universal. With the rest of that day you could have some downtime or you could find something else to do. You could have a rest-day for the the first half and then do Universal that afternoon/evening. Depends on what your goals are for the trip. Do your kids like rides? I don't know about Busch myself, but it would be something I would totally do if I had two weeks in Florida. Remember it will be extremely hot and humid though, and that may play into the schedule.

Formula Rossa top speed
mightbeawannabe replied to Rastuso's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Maybe they're getting more comfortable with the launch and are running it at full steam, whereas they may have only been running it at 80% before. The magnetic fins will only subtract a certain amount, not bring anything that rolls over them to a set speed. They'd need to be longer than they were if they're launching at a higher speed now to get out of those trims at the same speed as before. Is this making any sense? -

What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?
mightbeawannabe replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't normally get scared on big rides, not skycoasters, not hyper coasters, not drop towers, but I will NEVER BE RIDING A CAROUSEL. EVER. AGAIN!! Or anything with clowns! I will have none of that. -
Professional simulator
mightbeawannabe replied to coffguy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^It's pretty much like a Nolimits modified for higher quality rendering and advanced features they plug into it. They model new trains and tracks for companies, and plug it in. They're based off the same thing. The pro version is just the next step or two up. The company that you're looking for isn't a simulator. It's all done with CGI and rendering. I can't think of the name though. They're a professional graphics company. The same company has done Diamondback, Patriot, etc. -
The Double Loop
mightbeawannabe replied to coastermaniac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Arrow welded all of their coasters up until a certain point...and coasters have been relocated successfully despite the fact. -Canobie's has been moved twice, Knott's went to Idaho. -Opryland's mine train made it to Great Escape unscathed-same as the 2nd River King Mine Train to Dollywood and Magic Springs. -Ninja at SFStL came from Vancouver. Mostly it was the smaller types, but it's been done. If you look, you can see there are no bolts. -

I think that's a picture of the lead car from the auction....e.g. that was from when it was still at Geauga Lake. Remember: I think. -
Floored or Floorless?
mightbeawannabe replied to dropthefloor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I mean, Just because a ride is floorless, doesn't change any heartlining, and really allows for the same types of elements of any other b&m looper. Actually the heartline of a floorless coaster is about 20 cm higher than a normal sitdown looper, with the exception of Wildfire. And yes I did just use my NoLimits knowledge there. I honestly don't care. They're both great types. EDIT: I see Real beat me to it by a lot. I missed that post entirely. -

GAME: What's worse than...
mightbeawannabe replied to MayTheGForceBeWithYou's topic in Random, Random, Random
Being locked inside your house from the outside. What's worse than Lady Gaga's singing? -
Has any park ever said they made modifications to a perfectly safe ride to appease the GP but they actually didn't modify a thing? They wouldn't be able to tell the difference of a modified train or an unmodified train; some cannot even correctly refer to the seatbelt. I think it'd work myself...just a nice maintenance rehab on the trains to get them all prettied up and say they modified it. That's not mean, right?

Personal observation: Are there any mature coaster enthusiasts that have gotten injured because they did not follow the park's, the manufacturer's, and state's rules? Yes, I know it can happen if it was a mechanical failure or something out of their control; It seems things like this only happen to GP...and only GP make a big issue about it. But is there anybody that really gets hurt at their own hand if they follow the rules and regulations? The rate would seem astoundingly low...like 0%...
