  1. Wow, that is stellar work. I wish I knew about custom scenery when I was playing RCT1 and 2.
  2. 8/30/10 From naplesnews.com The BlackRock Group (BRG) has won the final round of the auction selling off the Naples City Zoo. With the decision comes a new round of accusations of backroom dealing among councilmen. An unnamed executive with Simon Malls, the competing bidder, accuses the Naples city council of practically "giving" the land to BlackRock. "They didn't want another mall competing with Coastland, which is partially owned by one of the chairmen of the city council. This is the last time Simon will ever attempt to invest in the city of Naples." The next step is to decide to what do with the land. One thing is for sure, the Zoo will be closing it's doors. Rodney Stevens, the CEO of the BlackRock Group L.L.C., sat down with Naplesnews.com "For years the Zoo hasn't been able to compete for consumers' entertainment dollar. Animals are cute, but cute doesn't pay the bills." When asked what the land will be used for, "That is under consideration. Naples commercial real estate market is shattered, and being so close to a well respected entity such as Coastland Center Mall, commercial property doesn't make sense. But there is a strong need for residential. Say, apartments. We are looking at all options in that regard. Then, of course, there is the family entertainment option." Publicly, that is the option that Stevens prefers, already being involved in the family entertainment industry. "Viability is the issue. High speed rail connecting Miami, Southwest Florida, and Tampa and central Florida make things like large scale theme parks viable in today's market. Things like overbearing city restrictions and regulations make that viability a bit bleaker." Currently there is a height restriction of one hundred feet for 'amusement rides' in the city of Naples. Such restrictions would make it hard for a theme park to compete in today's competitive family entertainment industry. "Time will tell." We leave you with some shots of closing day. A somber day for sure, but who knows what the future will bring! A good turnout for the last day. The crowd favorite giving it's fans a good ride. To add insult to injury, the Ferris Wheel broke, keeping riders stuck for over an hour. The crowd files out as the zoo closes it's gates for the final time. The animals were removed almost immediately after the last person left the zoo. Making the last rounds.
  3. I thought I'd give it a go with a park. It's my first attempt, and I'm kind of learning on the fly. My buildings still suck. 8/26/2010 from NaplesNews.com 3:10 p.m. EST The Naples City Zoo, a place with a history of cultivating the imaginations of children and adults alike since the 1940s, is in danger of having to close it's doors forever. The Zoo's attendance has declined over the last decade, and county commissioners are worried the zoo will have trouble paying the bills. For years the zoo's financial troubles have been buffered by revenue the zoo received from parking space for the Coastland Center Mall which sits aside the zoo. Those revenues are due to disappear as the mall's developer has built a large multi level parking structure rendering the parking space on the zoo's land useless. The Zoo's plan to attract visitors by installing a few fair style rides has proven unsuccessful. The city council met last night in an emergency meeting to discuss the Zoo's future, and several other important figures were in attendance. One of them being Rodney Stevens, a retired engineer, and owner of "Stevens Kingdom", the small family fun park located in Naples. Stevens' investment group is in talks with the city to purchase the Zoo and convert it to a full service theme park, featuring thrill and family style rides. While the council deliberates before the vote, we'll leave you with a few pictures from a recent outing to the Naples City Zoo. Stay linked for news concerning the future of the Naples City Zoo. A grizzly bear posing for the camera. Thank heavens for fences! Beautiful scenery. Ferris wheel gives guests a great aerial view of the park. Great shady areas make it easy for guests to get up close to the animals. Lots of room for shopping centers, strip malls, restaurants, etc. If the Stevens group doesn't take advantage of this parcel, someone else will.
  4. S T A R C R A F T 2 Gold Level in most of my 2v2's. Still in 1v1 placement oddly enough.
  5. He probably doesn't have enough tattoo's to fit in on the nug's.
  6. I don't understand the pattern of thought here. The football is cooler or the NFL is a better league, therefore immune to issues that would lead to a lockout? Either way, I hope you are right
  7. Of course, thats why NFL players are talking about what they are going to do if it happens. Of course it doesn't happen until it happens, but lockouts/strikes happen in pro sports.
  8. The Phx Suns under Dantoni only played a 8-9 man rotation. You had 4-5 guys going weeks without ever seeing the floor for even moments. Several players get paid to ride the bench while not selling tickets. Marshall's game is as an outside shooter, and I think that fact fits nicely into the story. If his game was in the post, I could see guys tearing him apart. He should have good enough footwork being a top 3 WR in the NFL, and obviously has the speed and body to play against 1-3's. And don't hate on Brandon Marshall for being 'cocky'.. If you had the man's skills, you'd be confident too.

  10. Have you seen Delonte West? Delonte West as Kevin Garnett put it "Is a Herpes infested troll"
  11. Delonte West evidently likes sleeping with players' moms. It's hard to confirm such things, but I've heard this has happened twice before. And really, what's a better arguement ender than "I railed your mom"? ?? "You did a terrible job getting open there Delonte!" "Yeah? Well I railed your mom last night" or... "Delonte it's your turn to pick up the check!" "No Lebron, you pick up the check, or I'll tell everyone about your mom's elephant ears down 'there'" .. it would never get old. You see why Lebron had to leave..
  12. You people think that was bad? You should see those idiots try to cover something a bit more serious.. say.. politics or world affairs.
  13. Sure, but not everyone has to be wrapped up in one singular issue. Yeah. While politicians are busy not doing their jobs and sinking CA further into debt, they need MORE than 1 issue, how else would they distract everyone from how crappy a job they are doing.
  14. The judge was gay. That's pretty funny.
  15. Haha, a theme park run by the government that is failing. That's fitting.. I know that it's a government run facility, but I'm sure they needed insurance.. to pay employees, advertise, etc, etc.. I could see those expenses running long.. And you are talking about the government trying to budget money. It's a total oxymoron..
  16. I envy you. Just think of all the videogames you've gotten to play instead of hanging out with females. I mean.. between you and me, have you ever heard them try to make complete sentences? It's painful sometimes.. stick with the single life man! And for when you need to satisfy the 'urge' .. well they don't call it the oldest profession for nothin..
  17. Hey man, I know how you feel. My mom made me ditch the kit when I was 16 because it was too loud and took up too much space. I was so pissed. So I went and bought turntables : )
  18. I've never seen one of these towers, so I'll leave the opining to those who have actually ridden them. Only thing I'd say is my thoughts go out to the family of this girl. And I know that 99.9 percent of the rides out there are totally safe.. and it's generally the same type of rides that have these particular kinds of malfunctions.. But at what point do all of these stories of people being hurt on rides start to build up to the point where the GP looses faith in the park's ability to keep them safe. I would consider myself apart of the largely ignorant GP ( that just happens to know about this forum ), and to me it's absolutely absurd that the reason behind this accident could be 'they did not raise the net properly'. *edit* I know that the net level may be the reason in reality. I'm just saying it's completely stupid that something like that could happen at a place as big as Wisconsin Dells. That's something that happens at the Ocala County Fair and the lawyer tells you "the carney was up too late smoking crack'.
  19. Remember when Delonte West got caught speeding down the highway on his motorcycle doing like 130 with a duffle-bag full of shotguns?
  20. Adam Beyer - Follow Yours Eyes
  21. Awesome writeup. First paragraph too! Though I couldn't help to think when I read.. “You know that whatever’s going to happen is not really going to harm you but, holy crap, it’s going to be terrifying.” I noticed none of those coasters were boomerangs
  22. I sell overpriced wine.
  23. Thomas Schumacher - "Taxi" DOPE
  24. Wow.. Final Destination called that.
  25. That is certainly good to hear. How do you go from "evacuating the area, treating victims, and accessing damage" to "reopening shortly"?
