  1. I'm expecting something like a taller, longer version of Sky Rocket at Kennywood.
  2. Why would Six Flags invest in another ride destined to have major downtime? That would be like Great Adventure building X2.
  3. I love Viper, and the only part I find rough is the batwing. I hope they don't remove it for years to come.
  4. ^ That's the impression I got as well. It was a "let's just say what if" type of thing rather than being literal.
  5. Only a rumor, but I heard that SFMM will take the tallest inversion record in 2013, and that it will be as tall as Goliath?
  6. This sling shot ride sounds temporary, like it's going to travel around the chain collecting extra cash. Perhaps that's why it's the movable carnival version. I have heard rumors that it will get the Full Throttle name, and the new coaster has a new name.
  7. Enough with the silliness. This sling shot has nothing to do with the launched coaster going into Log Jammer's spot next year.
  8. Haha... This subject went from interesting to boring overnight. Back to the regularly scheduled Drop Of Doom talk. Nothing to see here.
  9. ^Agreed. Besides, this is SFMM. Why wouldn't they replace an up charge with another up charge.
  10. Are there any other coasters out there that have different color track for different parts of the ride? I can only think of Top Thrill Dragster.
  11. They seem a little puny to be Intamin supports, especially when you compare them to the Skyrush supports, which look much denser. Unless these are for some other aspect of the ride. Besides, isn't Full Throttle suppose to be a Premier Ride?
  12. Knowing Magic Mountain, these are ride pieces for some sort of up charge attraction.
  13. Unless it's a non ride attraction, isn't it a bit late to just now be constructing something for the water park?
  14. Sky Screamer or not, these look like RIDE pieces, not coaster. But we'll see...
  15. I hope they do add a Screamer. I really enjoyed the one at Great Adventure, and I have to say, they seem REALLY popular with the gp.
  16. I always felt it was a term of endearment, although perhaps a backhanded one lol. I've met her a few times because I work for a company that does business with SFMM. She's a woman of few words, but I found her very nice and somewhat self-deprecating. I bet she's the type of person who would find the humour in having a nickname like that. Having said that, I do agree that you can only bash a park so much before they have no choice but to retaliate. Not to say there is any real bashing going on, but sometimes things read differently in print.
  17. ^ I'd say cooperate, especially seeing as every Six Flags park in the chain is going to wind up with one of these rides.
  18. I don't see why not. The park has built two coasters in the same year, why not two flats? I think it's entirely possible that a drop tower and a Sky Screamer were always the plan for 2012, especially seeing as Thrill Shot was suddenly removed so quickly back in April. The thing about SFMM and Knotts is that they can add new rides at any point of a given year. Full Throttle may begin construction, but who knows at what point it will actually open.
  19. I'm not sure why a SFMM Sky Screamer would have to be taller than Knotts ride. They just added a drop tower which is the tallest ride in California. If they add one I bet it will be a copy of the one at Great Adventure.
  20. Why would parts for 2013 be showing up in July 2012? If this is indeed a Sky Screamer, I would think it would be a late summer/fall addition no?
  21. ^ Did you guys notice the audio at the top of the tower?
  22. Oh REALLY? That's funny... The Lex Luther drops 30+ feet below the top of the tower, bringing the drop to something in the park of 385 feet. Still a VERY high drop! Can't wait to ride while the tower is shaking! Sounds like too much fun! Yep, you were right! Shame it doesn't reach 400ft, yet SFMM still has the legit world record. Other than that, all that matters to riders is that it's a big ass drop ride that is going to scare people to death! Can't wait to ride it next week!
