  1. Just to put things into perspective a little, before El Toro or I305, I wasn't all that impressed with the coaster line ups at Great Adventure or Kings Dominion either. One show-stopper can elevate an entire park from an also ran, to a must do. The closes thing I've experienced with parks with several great coasters would be the Busch parks, and even they lack good wood.
  2. ^ I like SFMM's coaster line up. They managed to either get rid of, or fix most of the duds, and I think they have a solid line up now. I do think they are missing that one *GREAT* coaster. That El Toro or I305 or New Texas Giant.
  3. Well I have to admit, when I first heard the new ride would be from Premier rather than Intamin, my first thought was, "yet another missed opportunity". Great launches, but ZERO airtime. I hope I'm wrong and we're in for something unexpected. But recent history isn't on our side. When you put ONE airtime hill on a hypercoaster which is suppose to be designed for airtime, someone in charge clearly wants to avoid it at all costs.
  4. Yes. California certainly does get quite a few new attractions, but how many of them really blow people away?
  5. Good point. In any event, I look forward to seeing what they come up with for SFMM.
  6. Yeah I should have specified Premier / Six Flags.
  7. I just hope Full Throttle is Full Circuit and High Capacity. Two things Premier aren't known for. I'm not expecting this airtime monster other people are hoping for, this is SFMM after all. I do like Premier coasters though, even if they aren't big with enthusiasts.
  8. This is another one of those topics that refuses to go away. I like Scream, and I hope it stays right where it is.
  9. ^ A park official confronted you? Damn, I'm NEVER that lucky!
  10. Boring carousel stuff ??? How dare you... So I guess the park is quiet no more. Can't wait till next week. CGA, SCBB and SFMM. Should make for an exciting week!
  11. Good point. Also, Green Lantern was a complete secret up until it was announced.
  12. Ahhh... The Insider. I miss those days. lol 2014 wouldn't bother me one bit. Too much other So-Cal stuff I haven't gotten to yet. Plus, the park did just open a pretty major ride this year. We'll see...
  13. My memory may be foggy, but I don't remember any visible parts for any of SFMM's coasters before September. That said, as quiet as the park has been, you could be right.
  14. I think he was referring specifically to SFMM. They usually announce months before construction begins.
  15. ^ I still don't see how adding a large coaster changes any of what he said. It would be their first thrill coaster in almost a decade Even the Busch parks have figured out how to add large coasters without ruining their parks.
  16. ... And Knotts has always played to both the thrill and family markets.
  17. Knotts has been considering a hypercoaster ever since Cedar Fair took over the park. All of their top earners have one, so simple deduction tells me that if the park get an opportunity to add one, they're going to take it. It doesn't have to be a giga. It could just as easily be something like Diamondback or Behemoth. Having said that, I'd bet the park will want to make a statement with their next thrill ride, so a giga wouldn't shock me in the least.
  18. May I also add that SFMM's last 2 rides opened in June and July respectively...
  19. Like many here have said before, if a park wants to build something bad enough, they will find a way to make it work.
  20. Diamondback is my favourite B&M hyper, so anything like that would be great!
