  1. oooooo....I hope it's one of those Sky Rocket II clones. Every park needs one!
  2. Was Pony Express the last coaster this park added?
  3. Nice to see them doing some work on this "should be" awesome little wooden coaster. When running well, it's the hidden gem of the park.
  4. I think it's all of the above, creating the perfect storm. On the Ghostrider tour, we were told the structure wasn't given enough play to breath due to earthquake overbuild, and therefore the trains wreaked havoc over a very stiff structure. Add to the mix very hot, dry and sunny conditions, and I'm not really all that surprised.
  5. It's not like they would share their plans before they are ready anyways, so this is the least shocking thing. If it's going to happen, the announcement wouldn't come until much closer to September's annual corporate ride announcement... Agreed. This doesn't mean a thing to me other than we'll have Viper and Ninja for at least another summer. History shows neither of these rides will be around forever.
  6. There is a running joke between SFMM and Knott's, that SFMM will paint Tatsu when Knott's paints Xcelerator. In other words, never.
  7. Even more funny is thinking SFMM is going to wait more then a year or two before adding another coaster.
  8. I close my eyes right before the drops on Zac Spins and Fly Free rides, for the same reason.
  9. ^ I actually wish it jammed up the blue lift hill, and that the green lift were the normal speed of the current blue. That way, no matter how long it took to load the train, the blue lift would fly up to catch the green.
  10. Yeah I wouldn't count on that. I'm 99 percent sure there is a Batman Free Fly in the works for SFDK if SF holds to their pattern. There isn't one on the west coast yet.
  11. Damn I wish this was my home park!
  12. ^ The level of work and branding can be debated. But the fact is the the company felt the work and cost put into Revolution warranted ROI, and therefore got pushed into the category of a new ride, rather than just an extended rehab.
  13. ^ The park considers the combo of a train rebuild, along with VR (which is not cheap), a coaster addition. Just like Cedar Fair considers new trains and paint job for Mantis and Vortex coaster additions.
  14. I have to say I'm impressed with the choices this park has made post Full Throttle. Making Colossus fun to ride again, removing the OTSR from Revolution, adding a new show (Kwerk), and now the park's first major non-coaster family ride in years. It's like thy're finally listening to what people have been saying for a good while. It may not be glamorous or headline grabbing fanboy fodder, but I have to give credit where credit is due.
  15. Dude, you are ON IT with your posts lately. This is hilarious.
  16. I am too. They did great jobs with DC, Twisted Colossus and New Revolution with what I'm sure were limited budgets, so this should be nicely done as well.
  17. Yep, that's where I think it's going. Looks large enough to me.
  18. I think it's going at the very front of the park, on the other side of Superman. It looks like they'll use the space that's already been cleared.
  19. The fanboys are losing it on Instagram and Facebook over SFMM having the gall not to add another record breaking coaster. It's funny as hell. Personally, I'm loving the idea of one of those beautiful Hall of Justice buildings looming out of what was the most dead area of the entire park.
  20. Most parks plan 2-3 years in advance. So I'm not shocked, as I expected we were still 2 years or so from seeing one of these built. And the big chains (excluding Cedar Point) are spending conservatively next year anyway so...
  21. Yes. I predict that many enthusiasts will feel entitled and butt hurt at the same time. Yes! The SFMM thread is a must visit tomorrow, if you want to see a bunch of passive aggressive fun!
  22. For years, some people have complained about non coaster options at SFMM, I've even had friends complain that there is nothing to do but coasters. So yes, now the bluff is being called. lol I'm thrilled we're getting this ride (if it turns out to be true). Can the park keep up a dark ride? Under normal circumstances I'd probably say no. But a DC themed ride that every other SF park has or will have? I personally think it will be fine, and certainly better than a closed, horribly aged "action" theater.
  23. ^ Exactly what I've been saying the last few weeks, and people still think a coaster or large flat (although I guess it is kind of a flat) is coming lol. It's one thing, the most predictable thing. What have the other parks gotten after an RMC? My guess is either a JL or a Super Loop. I know which one I'd prefer.
  24. I love the Joker. If I had to answer the Joker Vs TC question, I would say Joker easily has the stronger airtime and more completely layout. It all comes down to what you like in a coaster. A friend of mine who prefers TC said he likes the fact than TC dispenses with the "over banked turns" that get you from one element to the next that he feels slows down the trains. He likes the fact that TC is almost a straight double shot of elements without those multi turns, allowing you to take those two inversions at full speed. Hope that helps.
