  1. This was my first guess, before all the "megalite" talk started.
  2. Knott's has the highest attendance in the chain, far outpacing CGA, and it's near Disneyland which is going to draw huge crowds in 2018 for Star Wars Land. It makes sense for CF to have something new and exiting at nearby Knott's to draw some of those people across town. If, and that's a big speculative if, the coaster they are talking about is a Raptor/T-Rex then that would certainly do the trick. But even without all that I still just don't see CGA getting the brand spanking new innovative coaster over Knotts. It doesn't make sense. Especially when CF choose Knott's to get the very first Accelerator coaster back in the day. The CGA plans called for an Intamin impulse coaster at one point but maybe those have changed to a mega-lite or blitiz coaster since then. It does make sense to put a lower capacity Raptor prototype at CGA than at Knotts, which IMO, needs a higher capacity, proven winner (like a hyper, Dive or beyond vertical drop coaster).
  3. I told you this thread would begin to see levels of crazy usually reserved for the SFMM, CP and SFA threads...
  4. I think it boils down to "Why did you paint this coaster that didntt need it yet instead of this other coaster that needed it more?" Eh, I kinda do think it needed it, along with that whole area getting much needed attention due to the opening of Justice League. Tatsu desperately needs a paint job, but I'm sure it won't get one until a new ride opens near it.
  5. It could have to do with his question cane which is gold/yellow, and his question emblem. Yeah these colors look exactly like what they are painting the coaster to look like. Someone at SFMM is doing their homework. Adding some purple to either the trains or the station would finish things up nicely.
  6. I'm with you though. I thought RIddler looked great before... Now, not so much, and it doesn't really make sense with the character. I mean, it's not a BIG deal, but it's really odd, and another strange color combo decision by an amusement park (shockingly, NOT CF this time! lol) My question is, was Riddler's Revenge in NEED of a paint job, let alone a new color scheme? It's like when SFOG turned Ninja into Blue Hawk and gave it a new paint job, even though it was probably the coaster in the park that needed it the least. I hope you were being sarcastic. As for Riddler. People complain when they don't paint their coasters, now we're complaining that they're painting them too soon? **Confused** The colors don't bother me. Riddler's Revenge has had a nearly 20 year run as the big green and black coaster. Maybe it's time for some change?
  7. I'm not sure how we got here lol. What I have heard is that ***KNOTTS*** (ie Cedar Fair) considers it part of the history of the park. Whether that has changed or not is of course, entirely up to them. Hopefully we can all move on now?
  8. Unless from a operating expenses and staffing perspective, it's not worth it.
  9. I swear people take this stuff way too seriously. A little speculation and guessing is always fun, but it should stay that way...fun. Once people start adding "sources" and tearing down someone's guess as though they're some expert, we end up here. With CF's track record, it's all going to leak before it's suppose to anyway.
  10. Yeah Knotts could just as easily add a flower garden where Boomerang was.
  11. It's probably Intamin. I feel like his quote was not one he'd just make about anyone. Rather, a company that has built some pretty iconic rides for CF. Otherwise why really make that quote at all? I think it was made to build some excitement. A new Intamin would be exciting. Even something like a refurbished Kanonen would be quite a catch for CGA.
  12. A little slower? lol I didn't say it was the same. A Raptor at Knotts would be a way to put a unique coaster at Knotts all while testing out the new single rail track for a possible larger, T-Rex install down the road. CF also has the money to modify rides to suit the needed capacity (unlike Six Flags). Double stations...ect.
  13. After reading through this thread and piecing of few things together, I'm going to have to agree with the prediction made earlier that CGA will be adding a Wicked Twister-like Impulse coaster. And Knotts will be getting the first RMC Raptor prototype, which like Xcelerator before it, will then get the full, record breaking treatment at one of the larger parks in the chain.
  14. ^ True, but right now the only construction is the removal of a coaster.
  15. Interesting. People insist on limiting Knotts potential coaster to that one space.
  16. People worried about capacity don't forget CF has the ability to modify rides to suit their capacity needs. Look no further than Wicked Twister or Maverick.
  17. I'm probably dead wrong (as usual), but when I hear "deepening the pool" I'm not sensing Intamin, but rather Mack or Gerstlauer. There are several of their coasters that have yet to make it to the US, including the Gerstlauer Infinity, Mack Big Dipper, Powersplash and Launched spinning coaster. I remember watching the POV of Gold Rush in the Netherlands and thinking what a perfect ride that would be for a park like CGA. I'm not sure an Impulse coaster in 2017/2018 would have as much impact.
  18. I've heard this too... But exactly who is "Magic Mountain"? Because if "Magic Mountain" isn't someone from corporate ho helps make these decisions, I'd take that info with a grain of salt.
  19. You really mapped this out perfectly, and I totally agree.
  20. I wasn't suggesting it would just be a flowerbed or a flat ride. It could be anything - a large scale water ride to "replace" Perilous Plunge, a dark ride (unlikely, but you never know), another collection of flat rides to boost the family side of things, anything. Since Knotts is a year-round park I doubt the fact that it closed before or after summer is that big of a consideration; they're not going to lose ticket sales because Boomerang is gone now any more than they would if it had closed after Labor Day. It's speculation at best, of course. But most of us have been around long enough to recognize the signs. Rampant rumors, even among employees. Sudden closing and quick removal of a classic coaster along with boarding up an entire area, and the fact the the park is overdo for a thrill ride on a larger scale. Sure it could be something else, but I doubt it.
  21. When's the last time Knotts built a substantial roller coaster? Expect this to get much, much worse.
  22. Personally I've never had an issue with Scream. It's just an average B&M that I'll ride if there's minimal wait. It does feature my personal favorite cobra roll element however, and it's still pretty fun in the very front.
  23. As soon as Baron 1898 opened, I thought what a great addition to Knotts it would be. I am on board thinking a B&M Dive coaster is on it's way to Knott's Berry Farm. Ironically, this was also rumored for SFMM, but I think SFMM has something completely different in mind.
