The "GP" of Theme Parks Facebook Thread!
Andrewoplis replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I found something on an animated pic of SFGA new Wingrider (Sorry if this was already posted) Really?! Here's the picture: -
No way?! You mean to tell me you DIDN'T see the big obvious kennel in the parking lot that apparently everyone else in the world is aware of?! You mean you DIDN'T go to the Six Flags site and see the information that takes 2 clicks to get to at the bottom of the page? How could you be so dumb??!?! /sarcasm You don't have to be so harsh on someone for not noticing something...

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
Andrewoplis replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry if im being a bit off topic here but I have a question- I know that Kennywood has the ride Noah's Ark and was a common ride back in the day. But does anyone know of any other operating examples out there? I know Blackpool's Noah's ark is still there, but its being used as a park entrance, but thats all I know. -

I hope SOMETHING is coming in 2012. (That isn't a show or game) Like everyone's been saying, SFDK's new coaster is going to be hard to beat, but just CGA getting a new RIDE would be even more impressive . A Windseeker maybe? I know SFDK has a Star Flyer, but this one has the chance to be much taller, making it a bit more fun!

SFDK used the bumber cars for a maze last year, so It might happen this year as well. I don't think the park would close down any MAJOR attractions for FF. They might on the last few days until the event if they want to spook up an attraction or something, but im not sure. A haunted rapids ride would be so awesome!!!

L.A. County Fair 2011
Andrewoplis replied to redmenace8's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There was a Traveling Doppel looping on the east coaster but I got sold in 2008, It was getting to expensive to move around. It seems like these large traveling Schwarzkopf's aren't to expensive to buy anymore, but they can get very pricy when it comes to transporting them. -

Portable Coasters

Schwarzkopf Doppel loopers get my vote. But I REALLY want to ride Olympia Looping!! -
LETS! The three rides I see down a lot are Boomerang, Tas, and Hammerhead. Boomerang is usually never down for more than two hours when I'm at the park, but break downs seem common. Tas and Hammerhead really seem to be down very long periods of time when they are, and Tas seems to always be closed cause of some one vomiting, which im sure the ride crew is always happy about . But really, I could care less if hammerhead leaves, but tas and boomerang, Tas is one of my favorite flat rides and Ive had some great rides on boomerang (Yes, I said greats rides on boomerangs!). So when it comes down to it, I think Hammerhead should be the next to go.

I totally agree. I thought it was a fun ride and I was a little disappointed to hear that they're taking out such a new ride, but I won't miss it too much. It usually had really long slow-moving lines and it's not worth the wait. If it weren't for ERT with TPR, I probably wouldn't have ridden it as much as I have. The wait time is probably going to be even worst on Superman, but if its worth the wait or not, where just going to have to wait until 2012 But I total agree, It was fun ride and its sad to see it go , but with a giant new launch coaster going in, then I think that makes up for it!
-
I love this park!! I really can't wait to go back sometime! Thanks for the TR!

Good, then it will be more funner! Exactly! Also since this is from Premier, and they completely ripped off Maurer Sohne, do you guys think they might file a lawsuit? I don't think we will, Premier's new trains LOOK like the X-car's, but there are so many things that are different about the two, and I find it very easy to tell the difference between Premier trains and the MS X-Cars. So I think they are not rip offs. A rip off would be more like those random Chinese SLC's.

Im not trying to be mean but this really belongs in the "Weirdest things the GP has said" thread, 1. I do kind of a agree on this one but hey, its only 1 ride out of the many other rides they have. 2. WHAT? Why would they take out a popular family ride, only to have the ride replacing it leave. 3. I do agree, but hey, if that means everyone will be waiting in line for this, then that means more rides on the other rides for me!! 4. Again, WHAT? Coasters have been doing inversions with lapbars for years, and there's Sky Rocket, with the same trains. In the long run, you should stop complaining and be happy that a Norcal park is finally get a new thrilling roller coaster! This ride looks awesome!!
-
Not really, V2 and Superman are different concepts, V2 takes you back and forth, and Superman takes through a whole course as well as go back and forth. This ride looks like it will have some nice airtime which is something the park could use, but this will defiantly be one of those "most go on first" kind of rides.

Now that its actually going in, I can put my real thoughts- THIS LOOKS AWESOME!! A very cool compact layout, but it looks like it would be a Maure Sohne, not Permire, the only thing I have to complain about this is the capacity. But ether way, I can wait for this to open! (Oh, and it looks like SF is running out of names to )
